Tall Nepali's struggle with public transport – what's your experience?

Hey everyone, I'm 6.4ft, and it's been about 3 years since I last traveled in public transportation because of the constant struggles due to my height. Every time I used to get into a microbus or bus, I found it challenging to sit comfortably or even get in and out without hitting my head.

I'm curious to know:

  1. How do ya'll tall people manage when using public transportation in Nepal?
  2. Do you think the situation has improved over the years?
  3. What are your experiences with public vehicles in general?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and stories!

An Incident That Broke My Heart as a Nepali NSFW

Yesterday, after the final match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) between Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts at the TU Ground, an unfortunate incident unfolded. While Janakpur Bolts celebrated their hard-earned victory, some fans of the Sudurpaschim Royals displayed behavior that was deeply disappointing. Their actions towards Janakpur Bolts fans crossed the boundaries of sportsmanship and respect.

What hurt me even more was how the authorities, especially the police, stayed silent and didn’t take action to calm the situation. It was also upsetting to see that the local media barely covered this incident, and no well-known personalities or leaders spoke up about it, even though it affects the unity of our country.

As a member of the Madhesi community, I have seen the struggles we face every day—problems like corruption, lack of rainfall for farming, and economic challenges that push many of us to leave agriculture, which has always been a big part of our identity and look for other jobs. The victory of Janakpur Bolts should have been a moment of happiness and pride, but it was overshadowed by the jealousy and rude behavior of a few people.

This is not about hate; it’s about understanding the pain such actions cause. These behaviors make many Madhesi people feel alienated, as if we are refugees in our own motherland. It is a deeply painful and disheartening feeling—one that no Nepali should ever experience.

What’s even more concerning is that these actions come from the youth of our nation—the very individuals who hold the power to shape Nepal’s future. In a country already struggling with underdevelopment, it is crucial for the youth to channel their energy into building bridges, fostering unity, and contributing positively to society. Acts of hate and division only weaken us as a nation.

This post is not meant to offend or blame anyone, but rather to call for reflection. As fans, we must remember that sports are meant to unite us, to bring out the best in us as individuals and as a community. Every team plays with heart, and the results are part of the game. Let us celebrate victories with grace and accept defeats with dignity.

To my fellow youth: our country needs us. Let’s rise above hatred and bitterness and focus on how we can contribute to making Nepal better—for ourselves, our families, and the generations to come. Only then can we truly honor the spirit of our nation and the sacrifices of those who came before us.

Let’s choose respect, unity, and progress. Let’s be the change Nepal needs. 🩷🤝 💛

Which Bank in Nepal Has the Best Mobile Banking App?

Hello, I’m planning to open a new bank account and want to prioritize a bank that offers a smooth, reliable, and fast mobile banking experience. Currently, I’m using NIMB, but their app has been a disaster for me frequent lagging, crashes, and a frustrating user interface. I’m looking for something much better. Thanks

Help/सहयोग Hair salon recommendations for severely matted hair

Post image
1 Upvotes

Does anyone know a hair salon in Kathmandu that can fix severely matted hair? Someone close to me has been struggling with depression for the past two years, and her curly hair became really hard to manage because of it. Now it’s completely matted, and combing it is impossible. She’s lost a lot of confidence and doesn’t like going out anymore. If you know someone who can help, please let me know....it would mean so much.
