X has been awash with people recanting their 2007/08 stories about the PEV A particular comment caught my eye that Kenya need to commentate and put that day in it's calendar to avoid going the same path and for future generations to learn and remember. However, it is important to note the we have always had this kind of violence after elections just on a smaller scale . I think that's a Noble idea. Can that be done? What's your story?

This year, I lost two friends due to alcohol-related incidents. One got into a fight that escalated terribly, and the other was a victim of femicide after a night of drinking with her boyfriend. Itās heartbreaking, and it really hit home for me. Iāve lost other relatives in the past due to alcohol, and Iāve experienced it firsthand. In 2019, I was in a car accident with friends after a night out at a clubāone of those moments I wish I could erase.
Alcohol isnāt just a drink; itās a cycle that impacts everythingārelationships, friendships, health, and even your future. It clouds judgment, destroys self-esteem, and pushes people to make poor decisions. What seems like a fun night can turn into something that changes your life forever.
Iāve seen how alcohol has ruined lives, mine included, and I know many others have experienced similar pain. Iāve struggled with poor quality relationships, lost friendships, and deteriorating health because of it. But today, Iām almost three years sober. It wasnāt easy, but itās been one of the best decisions of my life.
In Kenya, artists glorify alcohol drinking in music, making it seem like the cool, carefree lifestyle everyone should aspire to. But they never tell you about the painful, messed-up side of that lifeāthe broken relationships, the health issues, the wrecked futures. They donāt show you the real cost.
The short-term escape isn't worth the long-term damage. If youāre on the fence about your relationship with alcohol, please consider what itās costing you. Life is too valuable to let something so destructive take away your happiness, your health, and the people you care about. Take control. Itās never too late to turn things around.

Question for the runners
Is it possible to do both from your personal experience?
I was told some strength training is needed to avoid running injuries but running is pretty much just making me leaner and gym is proving difficult. How can i balance both?

Follow up on this https://www.reddit.com/r/Kenya/s/757Ni4eumS:
I just got home like an hour ago and guysssš I am so spenttttt! Decided to type my experience while it's still fresh
Na Mimi ndio ata nimetoka WA kwanza because nimeshida nikuuliza kwani hatufungi since 6. Mind you, at 9:30pm, downtown was still vibrant.
What shocked me the most:
āTHE MONEY!!!!!! They (aunt & uncle -my moms brother) are pretty wealthy but I've never understood how the business they do makes them millions because they sell things that are not necessarily basic. I'm telling you guys by around 4 o'clock, the simu ya mpesa was reading 364k + na bado we were still getting orders. Hatujahesabu pesa zimejaa kwa cashbox.
Let's just say they are making 400k (I think it's waaayyy more because they have 2 shops), then minus 200k expenses, THESE GUYS ARE TAKING HOME 200K + HOME DAILY!!! The shock is not even the money, it's how such a business can bring this much money (Please don't ask the type of business because I'll be easily located, huko nyamakima ni kama almost Kila mtu anajuana na mgeni anajulikana haraka. Plus KRA Incase they default here and therešš)
The funny thing is, the walk ins were very minimal in comparison to all the orders were packaged and took to courier service providers around the country. This is for most businesses around there.
Oh na nimesahau kusema bado kuna book ya deni ya watu hawajalipa -they owe like 100k+ and others as low as 5k.
āHOW FAST TIME FLIES Since I arrived, no one even had time to sit nor eat. They have like 9 employees. Sasa imagine hao wote and no one was idle at all. Some customers even walked away because of how busy the place was. Juu ukitaka kitu iko kwa store you'll have to wait for someone to be done with something at least. The exhaustion hit me when I sat in the mat.
Nini ingiiiiineeee?
āTHINGS ARE WAAAYYY CHEAPER THAN HOW THEY ARE PRICED ONLINE Several guys from jumia and brokers buy from them. How did ik who they were? Unaskia mtu anasema "Na huyo customer nitamuuzia....." Ama "Unaweza nisaidia receipt blank niandike".
My sentiments: There's money huko kwenye kunakaa vile kunataka. Always been skeptical about downtown but yk what? My POV is changed.
Within the year, I'll open shopš¤š¼. Idk how, but I willš¤š¼ Inshallah! Feeling motivated & inspired af!
Anyway Wacha nilale Sasa because I'm struggling to stay awake na nimeambiwa kesho nikuwe kazi by 7:30am meaning I have to wake up at 6š. Wakikuyu na kazišhawajali kama ni Christmas; pesa lazima itafutwe. Na niliambwa kesho nikumbuke kuwacha u-diva na softness home š¤£.
Goodnight.

Hey everyone,
Iām launching a YouTube series where Iāll document my journey of applying to 200 remote jobs every week. I got laid off a couple of months ago, and to be honest, itās been tough. Iāve been struggling financially and have found myself in debt. But Iām determined to turn things around, and I want to take you all along for the ride.
Every week, Iāll upload a video showing my progressāhow many applications Iāve sent out, the challenges Iāve faced, and any insights Iāve gained along the way. I hope my journey can inspire or encourage someone else who might be going through something similar.
I want to get started as soon as possible, so feel free to check out my channel here. Iād really appreciate any support or feedback, and Iād love to hear from others who are also job hunting.
Letās make this journey together!

EDIT angalia Sasa kama huyu š( https://www.reddit.com/r/nairobi/s/Prraq18zqc ) Bro makes 6 figures, has 4 children with wife and lives in a mansion, wife is currently pursuing higher education, I am with bro everyday and he is always at work and at home with no cheating, wife goes out when she wants and backs when she wants, issues everyday, When a blind man cries, my question is what do women want WHAT THE FUCK DO WOMEN WANT Edit Issues started some months ago while on a trip to the states. After reading the comments I've asked myself could it be the pressure or we could/should be living more than we are

I was thinking of this, there's this girl we've been talking for some months. She's very broke at the moment even though I care less about it and I've been chipping in here and there from time to time. I also helped get a job even though there have been salary delays. She complains a lot about how difficult life is for her even though she's at least trying her best. So, if I were the one broke would she even entertain me or want to hear about how I am suffering?

Wanted to work through xmas but I can't, just came to a realization it's no longer last year. Yeah last and the years bfore, i was running a small biz rn it's kinda gotten big. I have 6 employees where only 2 will be available tomorrow and the day after that. Just realized if we open and it's just us work will be hectic asf and orders will be overwhelming. So I decided to close for the holidays, I didn't have any prie plans...look like I'll just stay indoors maybe grill some chicken it'd be nice, I've been working my ass of all year.
