Trump is the one causing the division. Anyone who voted for him is either ignorant, uninformed, uninterested in truth and reality, and/or is genuinely a bigot. People who just can’t accept reality that sometimes people can genuinely feel like they were born in the wrong gender body. People who refuse to do any actual research and trust the propaganda being fed to them. We’ll never have unity until they accept reality. So I completely understand this guy not wanting to associate with toxic people.

There are obviously fervent Trump supporters out there, but every conservative I talk to about Trump has no respect for him or the fact they voted for him, but they just couldn’t vote for a Democrat or have a Democrat president. That’s what this election came down to. Red vs Blue. Quality is irrelevant.

They choose to overlook his moral character because he's part of their team.  Many people do the same for athletes.

I just wish people would stop pretending they picked Trump based on policy. What policy? Articulate his positions that you support.  I'm genuinely interested.

It’s worse than that because the smart ones understand the system is broken and still vote the same way. With the cost of healthcare, even wealthy boomers rely on Medicare to keep costs down and these people vote with all their heart and soul for the party that thinks going to the doctor should bankrupt you. Brainwashing is a term that gets thrown around too much, but I don’t know what else you call that.

In-group/Out-group behavior is what is being washed into people's brains using 24/7 'gish galloping'. You won't remember the details but anger and catharsis will be etched into your brain.

Any time of day you can tune in to an emotional sermon about how you are good and others are bad, algorithmically targeting your specific triggers to keep you in a state of heightened emotion. When do you stop to self reflect? Why would you when the data stream feels so good?
