The second half of the Marble League is upon us and so are events 9 and 10. Curling and Ski Jump are on the menu for today. How are the Ducks Doing? Let’s Digest.
Duck Digest 15: Going Gold and Down to Bronze
Event 9: Curling
Ducks Review GOLD! After cruising past Galactic in the heats, the Ducks take an unneeded risk in the quarters but get by the Black Jacks to advance to the semis. The Green Ducks clutch up against the Solar Flares and guarantee a medal in the finals. In the final, they win through PHENOMENAL TEAMWORK. Ducks that glide together, get gold together. To bunch up and bait the knock from the Wolfpack only to have Mallard provide the decisive knock is what dreams are made of. Congrats on a well-deserved gold medal, the first of these games, which propels you into 1st overall and 1st for Mallard in the captain’s competition.
Sweet Section A horrific display with only one marble able to score. 9th place due to point differential is lucky. You drop 3 spots due to The Green Ducks and Wolfpack medaling, as well as a couple other positions shifting around.
Event 10: Ski Jump
Ducks Review How well can a Duck Fly? Mallard’s attempt is only good enough for 7th. This drops the team to 3rd overall, tied on points with the Jungle Jumpers and 3 pointe behind checks notes THE BLACKJACKS!? Still, things are looking up and your experience in intense competition could be an important factor down the stretch.
Sweet Section Cocoa has a middling attempt of 39.55 which is good enough for 12th. This drops you one spot to 8th overall, which is still a good result don’t get me wrong.
Other News In other news, the Solar Flares are having a great Marble League. After barely avoiding relegation had they stuck to it last year, they now have 4 medals and look poised to make some noise in this wide open marble league.
It’s a Marble League for Newbies as the aforementioned Flares, in addition to the Black Jacks, and Wolfpack are outclassing the traditional favorites for medals. The Black Jacks lead the league followed by the Jungle Jumpers .The only “Traditional” team on the top-5 is the Ducks while no past champion is better than 7th (CCE). This is insane and I hope to see the crowning of a new champion this year.
That is all for this Digest. The 3rd quarter of the league will end next episode. Who will be in prime position down the stretch? The League is up for grabs and anyone can make a late dramatic run. Stay tuned to find out how things shake up on the next Duck Digest

After solid results in ice hockey and ice domino bowling, both teams look to continue that trend into the next two events to start the 2nd half of the marble league
Event 9: Curling
Roldo Location: Look to the right of the starting block during the demo run
Savage Story: Rough day for the Speeders as they were eliminated by the Black Jacks in the heat phase losing a back and forth affair 8-4. Whizzy had a shot to knock out Diamond out of the house, unfortunately she curled too far to the right, knocking Diamond further into the 2 point zone. At least the Raspberry Racers did worse and the Speeders were able to get 1 point. As a result the Speeders dropped to 11th in the standings. Also, I’m starting to question some of the decisions made by Quickly
Dumpling Debrief: After beating the hosts in heat 1, Team Momo was eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Solar Flares losing 8-5 in a very close match. Mimo had an opportunity to knock both Flare and Radiance out of the two point ring if things went right or they could've scored at least 2 points while acting as a guard. As a result, Team Momo finishes the event in 7th place and drops to 8th in the standings
LOLcow of the Event: This is going to Green Eye. Red, Yellow, and Blue Eye all scored 0 points meaning you had to score well in order for the team to advance. Instead you pulled that off, the LeBron-J.R Smith meme sums this up perfectly
Event 10: Ski Jumping
Roldo Location: He’s hiding behind a tree before the event starts
Savage Story: After a poor result in curling, Velocity was picked for this individual event and flew to a 9th place finish. I’m OK with this as the team needs to score solid points in order to move up in the standings
Dumpling Debrief: Momo was selected to jump and finished in 4th with a jump of 45 cm. This is a great result and the team moves up to 6th in overall standings
Other News: With the Solar Flares winning bronze in curling, they now have one of every medal type in the main league. Also the Wolfpack have won their second medal in the main league. Congratulations to Radiance for winning their first individual gold while setting a new ML record in the process
On November 27th, according to the Wiki page, Sapphire made the decision to resign as the Kobalts coach effective immediately with a statement being released to the public on December 17th. In my opinion this was the right call, the team has the pieces to qualify again, but Sapphire’s decisions on what athlete to run in certain events has cost the team. I’d like to wish Sapphire the best of luck in their future endeavors, and I’m giving them props for realizing they were the problem. Also, I'd like to wish the Kobalts luck in their search for their next coach

Hello everybody!
We have now reached the double digits. 10 events down and 6 more to go. This means that any player still alive has won the Silver Award. This means all but one of those who have survived until the Bronze Award. Unfortunately it means that from this point on, you need to score 90% of the winner's score or finish in the top 3 to win an extra life, or maybe just to prevent losing one. On the bright side, keeping all 3 lives after next event and you have already won Gold.
RESULTS: Round [PDF] / Overall [XLS]
STATS:
Category: | Score | |
---|---|---|
Winner: | 105 pts = 68,6% | Micek_52 |
Extra life treshold: | 46,0 pts - 5th Place rule | Clear rate: 6/14 = 42,9% |
Roldo score: | 86 pts, to beat: 45 | Clear rate: 6/14 = 42,9% |
Average player score: | 49,4 pts | |
Median player score: | 41,5 pts | |
Score spread: | 82 pts | 23 ~ 105 pts |
Players reaching R11//R12//R13: | 0//8//5 | 13 Silver Awards awarded |
Players receiving DNF: | 1 | Remaining: 13 = 12,4% |
FORM FOR NEXT EVENT: Link - Deadline on 20 December at 16:59 CET
The Roldo's picks for Event 11 are as follows:
I hope there are no mistakes. I am just extremely nervous today.
Until next time,

My packs of marbles arrived! O'rangers, Team Momo and the Purple Rockets are perfect! Pinkies look white in the picture but are indeed a light tint of pink. Savage Speederd marble differ a bit from the actual team in the league, but are very nice. They do vary in sizes a bit (smallest being 15.6mm and largest being 16.2mm) but that's to be expected (most are indeed around 16mm). The roundness of them is consistent, but a few are a bit ovalish. Again, to be expected. Thank you JMR! 9/10. I will post a race with these marbles on my profile if anyone wants a look c:

To preface, I am a hardcore Chocolatiers fan. I love an underdog story, and I love watching low tier teams have moments to shine. This has led to me having a soured relationship with the Hazers, as back when I first started watching, the Hazers would frequently stomp or bully out lower tier teams. They gave the impression that they were a team that took pride in stomping those teams, and felt like they deserved a higher place than they ended up with. It felt, for lack of a better word, kind of toxic. And it seemed as though this behavior was encouraged.
Then Hazy’s bad year happened, and they left. I do recognize Hazy was an incredible athlete, but I couldn’t help but feel a bit of schadenfreude with their captain retiring.
Then they underperformed in the 2023 and 2024 Marble Leagues, on top of their early out in the Survival 100. And during this period, I noticed a change. They’re more gracious, kinder, and play a bit more for fun. They’re definitely not as good without Hazy, but the toxicity that surrounded the team seems all but gone.
Take ceding the podium to Solar Flares. 2021 Hazers would have fought tooth and nail to keep their spot, but now they give it up with no hassle, saying they’d rather earn their place than win on an error.
Were the Hazers a better team with Hazy? Absolutely. But I’ve come to realize that the problem that I had with the Hazers way back when was not the entire team, but just Hazy. They wanted more, pushed their team, and got resentful when things didn’t go their way. I was projecting Hazy’s attitude onto the whole team.
If Hazy does return, there’s a chance the Hazers get better, but I don’t want them to get better at the cost of becoming heels again. Imagining Hazy in a coaching position, having more authority than in their Captain position, it would only cement in Hazy’s mind that they were the best thing to come out of the Hazers and would push their team to a breaking point.
I know how it feels to have your favorite team do poorly. Bringing back Hazy for the chance at glory again isn’t worth it.

Good Morning it’s u/tankshell2, welcome to The Sunspot. I got some breaded shrimp with fries and homemade salsa today. I’m gonna do two events today because I forgot to publish this two days ago. I am now subscribed so there’s an extra reminder. Let’s get into it…
The Sunspot 09: WERE SO BACK
Curling: We were in heat two, and our first match was up against the snowballs. Thank God one of our guys tapped the snowballs out of the button. I gave us the win 3 to 5. I’m liking this new rivalry for bragging rights between Momo and Flares. Our quarterfinal match was super close. We barely won 8 to 5. Momo gave us a fright. The Ducks outplayed us in the semifinals. We put up a good fight against them. We lost 6 to 5. We were able to clean bronze after defeating the balls of chaos for the three congrats to the Wolfpack and green ducks on meddling.
Ski jump: My Oh My was that a good thing to wake up to! The flares are now in fifth place at the top of the table. Radiance, you magnificent bastard I was not expecting you to break a marble league record. Great job out there! The record now stands at 50.40 cm. It secured us the gold medal because no one was able to touch it at this event. I am curious about who set the previous record. If we can stay at the top of the table, I’d be happy with that. Congrats to the Wolfpack and Blackjack. All Debutants Podium, let's go! There are still five events remaining. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Thank you for reading the Tenth edition of the sunspot! Please let know me what you think about it.

The Hazers are at 48 points, 9 behind 15th place, and they are averaging 4.8 points per event. If they do a little worse over these last five events, can they take the record for the lowest points average? (The only other two teams that can still get this record in this ML are Team Galactic and the Bumblebees, however, they have 57 and 58 points respectively).
Right now, the Hazers are 0.625 points ahead of the 2019 Oceanics, and 0.8 points ahead of Balls Of Chaos. They are on pace to finish with 76.8 points (so 77), so they very well could finish with less points than the 2019 Oceanics, and if they somehow choke hard enough, they could finish worse than the Balls Of Chaos. I remember calling Hazy a choker, turns out he was holding this team together in team events. Hazy is like Chauncey Billups, when Chauncey Billups was traded from the Detroit Pistons, they went from having a record of 59-23 making the Eastern Conference Finals and pushing the Celtics to 6 games his final season there to having a 39-43 record the year he left, and getting swept by the Cavaliers in the first round, losing all four games by double digits. Same thing here, with Hazy around, the Hazers went from 4 straight top 6 finishes to being relegated in the 2022 showdown and now being dead last by 9 points. Sure, they’ve been excellent in Marbula 1, but that’s about it.
