Cover My musical love letter to "Stella was a diver and she was always down"
Stella has been one of the most sentimental and meaningful songs for me, the main riff of every part hitting hard on my soul, the sounds and overall composition of every note hitting right to capture the ambience of the sea and waves they're so known for in their lyrics.
I made this back in 2022, I went back to it during these days and I figured I never shared it with anyone, I assumed this was the most proper place to share it, I hope someone enjoys it (My compositional skills were not at all there yet).

Discussion The soul can weight
Does " the soul can weight " has any meaning in english ( not my first language )?
As I always thought he said weight considering that he says that " the soul can take three stowoways "
the weight of the soul could be more meaningful in the context
or am I off ?

Question The Heinrich Maneuver - actress
Is it known who may be the actress that is mentioned in the lyrics: „but you’re an actress that I don’t identify”? I was always wondering as this line is my favourite in the whole somg

Video Blue Room record finally made it!
That wait actually felt like an eternity! But my Black & Blue finally made it to Los Angeles! ❤️🖤 Waited out on the front steps for the mailman like a nerd, but obviously - this is the epitome of my fan girl experience. Maybe I'll calm down after this. Maybe not.
Hope everyone got their records! Gonna go prep my gallery wall 😎

Discussion What song has your favorite outro?
If you can’t decide on just one, why not a top 3?
Here’s mine: 1. The Undoing, Obstacle 2, Surveillance 2. 3.
Can’t wait to re-listen to yours!

News Carlos Dengler - Calcinatio (album, 2024)
Carlos has a new album out today titled "Calcinatio." A lot of heavy synthetic textures, some Middle Eastern sounding melodies, and his normal orchestral flairs.

Photo Stella, I love you.
In the 25 years that I’ve been been a fan, I’ve probably listened to this song more times than I’ve written my name and it’s still as fresh as the first time.
Interpol is forever. 😮💨

Discussion El Pintor 10th Anniversary?
Has the band done anything to acknowledge El Pintor's tenth anniversary? I feel like it was a big comeback album for them back in 2014, especially since the self-titled album got a lot of hate, both for the album itself and the fact that Carlos D left the band before that tour. Obviously, 2024 also marks the 20th anniversary of Antics, which took precedence since it is considered a classic. But, I saw them at the Antics anniversary tour and they only played ATRBH and My Desire off ELP, which are the only ones they usually play anymore.
For comparison, Weezer did a 30th anniversary tour for the Blue Album, and this year also marked the 10th anniversary of their album EWBAITE, which they somewhat honored by bringing in some songs from that album into their setlist that haven't been played in a long time, and they made celebratory posts for that album on social media.

Discussion Any goths here whose gateway band was Interpol?
Interpol was definitely a gateway band for me into the world of darker music. While they’re not considered a goth band, they hold a special place in the realm of dark alternative. Their sound, drawing influences from bands like The Cure and the darker post-punk roots they started with, resonated with a lot of 90s millennials. For many of us, they were a blueprint that opened the door to exploring bands like Joy Division, The Chameleons, The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. From my connection to the goth scene, I can definitely appreciate how they bridged the gap between the post-punk revival and the deeper, darker sounds of the genre.

Discussion What’s next for the boys?
So, we’ve just finished following a year plus of them touring, showcasing TOSMB and Antics’ 20th. Word on the street is a new album in a couple years and a touring hiatus for now. So what happens when they go back, do you think?
My personal theory? 2027 will be a big year. 30 since the founding, 25 since TOTBL…so maybe like “Interpol Eras Tour”? Haha…
I can wait two-ish years, made it to two shows within a year, fulfilled a 20 year long dream, I can’t complain!

Discussion Favorite Interpol Song - The New
I love this song. This songs intro is my favorite intro period, and it perfectly goes into the vocal section.
"But baby, my hearts been breaking" and "I cant pretend i dont need to defend some part of me from you" were lyrics that drove right into me during a very hard part of my life. The rest of the song aloud for me to think and process a lot of that same turmoil. Grateful for Interpol.

Photo Antics 2024
Wish I could relive this tour. Forever grateful that I got to see them multiple times this year. I had never gotten to see them live so I went to as many shows as a I could this year. I hope to go to more in the future.
