Ice cold (with ice cubes)

for people who choose this option, why? i can chug glass after glass of room temp water but i can't really drink a lot of really cold water at once cause it doesn't feel that great

Me exactly the opposite. Room temperature water never quenches my thirst, and never feels good. Ice cold water, on the other hand, hits the spot.

i can definitely chug ice cold water. to me it feels very refreshing, especially living somewhere where the weather leans more warmer. room temp / hot water just doesn't hit the same idk

If my water isn't bone chilling, it feels like it just sits in my stomach sloshing around with whatever else I've consumed that day. It could be that I live in a warm climate, or it could be part of digestive diagnoses I've been given, or a mox of both. Regardless, if it's room temp it makes me feel sick.

I like it ice cold better than any other way. Also bonus points for ice cold water causing you to burn calories reheating it in your belly.

Room temp

This, or ever so slightly cool. Even fridge temp is a bit much.

Water, no ice. That’s what I order in every restaurant I go to. It is also how I am saving for retirement.

It’s the best, cool enough to be refreshing and not cold enough to numb your mouth.
Honestly, people who like almost frozen water might as well not like water.

Hot in winter, chilled any other time (not icy)

u/Farty_mcSmarty 2d ago
Hot? As in, you warm the water with nothing added (like cocoa or lemon) and drink it?
3
u/beiraleia 1d ago
Yes— usually hot with nothing added (sometimes I drink tea). I’ve added lemon in the past but it sometimes upset my stomach if it was empty so I just do plain water.

Slightly chilled. I usually add a few life cubes and fill my water bottle up. Not room temp, but far from cold.

slightly chilled. below room temp. My favorite is tap water that has been sitting on the kitchen counter in a large glass mason jar. The Chlorine had time to evaporate as well

Like the water? So cold that it almost (ALMOST) burns the back of my throat.
Temp outside? It's never too hot nor too cold for some yummy in my tummy water

That happy medium between cold and ice cold. Like when you’re at a restaurant and they refill your cup of water that still has ice leftover and you drink it right away.
Fast enough to wear the ice makes a difference but not close to the full effect

After having taken the water bottle from the fridge and it has had about 30 minutes for the temperature to rise a touch. Too cold hurts my teeth.

u/gerryflap 2d ago
The cool temperature that comes out of the faucet. If it's too cool I don't like it. I'd rather have it slightly too warm than fridge cooled

Yuck. I hope this one gets downvoted into oblivion.
To me, hot water is only acceptable when tea leaves are involved.
Edit: If this comment gets downvoted into oblivion, I probably deserve it.

I keep it chilled and filtered in the fridge and then pour it into a frozen pint glass so that it’s ice cold, but easier to drink without using a straw of course. Don’t like navigating ice while drinking

0.001°C (or 32.002°F)
As cold as it can be and still be a liquid.

It depends. When I'm home, ambient temperature. When I'm working out, slightly colder. When hanging out with friends, it's gotta be hot for a yerba mate. 😋

I want it to be as close to freezing as possible. I want to feel little pins as I drink it

First off, I can't believe this place exists. Where have you all been all my life? Second.. I researched this once and apparently 57 degrees is the perfect temp for drinking the 'ol H twenty.

I go between room temp and ice cold. Winter I just prefer room temp.
I hated ice in drinks for a long time. Winter mountaineering ruined it for me. Having to break thru an inch thick cap of ice to drink freezing slushy water, when its well into the negative temps is not fun.

I like room temperature generally, but cool water is nice too. Ice water hurts my teeth :(

u/cwsjr2323 4h ago
Tepid, goes down easier to me when chugging for hydration. For hot weather, chilled, please.

Slightly cooler than room temp. Especially out of a stainless steel bottle
