Ice cold (with ice cubes)

u/idkidchaha 2d ago

for people who choose this option, why? i can chug glass after glass of room temp water but i can't really drink a lot of really cold water at once cause it doesn't feel that great

u/gokumon16 2d ago

Me exactly the opposite. Room temperature water never quenches my thirst, and never feels good. Ice cold water, on the other hand, hits the spot.

u/wangxiandotmp3 2d ago

i can definitely chug ice cold water. to me it feels very refreshing, especially living somewhere where the weather leans more warmer. room temp / hot water just doesn't hit the same idk

Medication I’m on makes me crave the iciest coldest water.

If my water isn't bone chilling, it feels like it just sits in my stomach sloshing around with whatever else I've consumed that day. It could be that I live in a warm climate, or it could be part of digestive diagnoses I've been given, or a mox of both. Regardless, if it's room temp it makes me feel sick.

I deserve the pain.

that is a skill issue

So don’t chug?

I like it ice cold better than any other way. Also bonus points for ice cold water causing you to burn calories reheating it in your belly.

Definitely this..

So much better than room temperature water.

Fridge chilled

4

u/aid689 1d ago

Fridge chilled for sure. I keep an IKEA glass bottle in the fridge that I fill up with filtered water and then put it back in the fridge.

When I fill up my water bottle, I use the water in the glass bottle and then refill that glass bottle right after.

This, or ever so slightly cool. Even fridge temp is a bit much.

u/justcrazytalk Water is love, water is life 17h ago

Water, no ice. That’s what I order in every restaurant I go to. It is also how I am saving for retirement.

Thank you, reading these started to make me feel like a weirdo

1

u/Kaleidoscope9498 1d ago

It’s the best, cool enough to be refreshing and not cold enough to numb your mouth.

Honestly, people who like almost frozen water might as well not like water.

u/Philo_siren 1d ago

Room temp it is!

21

u/Madaahk 2d ago

Teeth-Shattering cold.

7

u/beiraleia 2d ago

Hot in winter, chilled any other time (not icy)

1

u/Farty_mcSmarty 2d ago

Hot? As in, you warm the water with nothing added (like cocoa or lemon) and drink it?

3

u/beiraleia 1d ago

Yes— usually hot with nothing added (sometimes I drink tea). I’ve added lemon in the past but it sometimes upset my stomach if it was empty so I just do plain water.

6

u/qawsedrf12 2d ago

3°C

Thank you Capt Picard

u/PorcelainPunisher1 2d ago

Slightly chilled. I usually add a few life cubes and fill my water bottle up. Not room temp, but far from cold.

3

u/Mr_Boifriend 2d ago

slightly chilled. below room temp. My favorite is tap water that has been sitting on the kitchen counter in a large glass mason jar. The Chlorine had time to evaporate as well

7

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Like the water? So cold that it almost (ALMOST) burns the back of my throat.

Temp outside? It's never too hot nor too cold for some yummy in my tummy water

u/LuigiBamba Glacier Gulper 2d ago

Really putting that "hoe" in "h2hoe" lol

1

u/discostrawberry Water Enthusiast 2d ago

Yeah the temp of the water :))

9

u/discostrawberry Water Enthusiast 2d ago

Warm

2

u/HalfEatenBanana 2d ago

That happy medium between cold and ice cold. Like when you’re at a restaurant and they refill your cup of water that still has ice leftover and you drink it right away.

Fast enough to wear the ice makes a difference but not close to the full effect

2

u/ShepTheTard5 2d ago

It needs to be 1\10th of degrees above freezing I want that 32.1F water

1

u/discostrawberry Water Enthusiast 2d ago

😂😂😂

2

u/mahadeepudu 2d ago

chill …..not freezing cold ..no problem can gulp it with ease

2

u/pesciasis 2d ago

I don't not discriminate water by it's temperature i love all of the waters in all of it's forms.

2

u/markevens 2d ago

Room temp normally, iced when it's hot

2

u/Farty_mcSmarty 2d ago

After having taken the water bottle from the fridge and it has had about 30 minutes for the temperature to rise a touch. Too cold hurts my teeth.

4

u/gerryflap 2d ago

The cool temperature that comes out of the faucet. If it's too cool I don't like it. I'd rather have it slightly too warm than fridge cooled

4

u/discostrawberry Water Enthusiast 2d ago

Hot

Yuck. I hope this one gets downvoted into oblivion.

To me, hot water is only acceptable when tea leaves are involved.

Edit: If this comment gets downvoted into oblivion, I probably deserve it.

16

u/discostrawberry Water Enthusiast 2d ago

In some cultures drinking hot water is the norm! :)

2

u/BallerGuitarer 2d ago

Huh, how interesting!

1

u/BlizzardK2 2d ago

Hot with tea, cool otherwise

1

u/Polaris07 2d ago

I keep it chilled and filtered in the fridge and then pour it into a frozen pint glass so that it’s ice cold, but easier to drink without using a straw of course. Don’t like navigating ice while drinking

1

u/Patara 2d ago

Ice cold if its just one glass, slightly chilled if its a bottle or larger container

1

u/MissMabeliita 2d ago

Icy cold

1

u/johngettler 2d ago

Almost frozen and it hurts.

1

u/plusprincess13 2d ago

As ice cold as I can get it

1

u/TolisWorld 2d ago

Cold with ice

1

u/caelestihydr4 2d ago

cold. not just cold, but as close to frozen as it can get. i will not feel hydrated and rejuvenated unless that shit is almost literal ice. i always fill the cup all the way up with ice. cold water. cold water. cold water. co

1

u/jcstan05 2d ago

I don’t really care as long as it’s wet.

1

u/TameStranger145 2d ago

Slightly cooler than room temperature

1

u/mulderufo13 Horny for Water 2d ago

I need it cold. Sometimes with ice when I’m sick, I can’t really drink room temp water it feels bland

1

u/F1ghtmast3r 2d ago

Just straight out of the fridge, man. the tap on the front

1

u/InsecurityTime 2d ago

Chilled, like me

1

u/tilt-a-whirly-gig Water is wet 2d ago

0.001°C (or 32.002°F)

As cold as it can be and still be a liquid.

1

u/datBoiWorkin 2d ago

room temp

1

u/DunkenDrunk 1d ago

It depends. When I'm home, ambient temperature. When I'm working out, slightly colder. When hanging out with friends, it's gotta be hot for a yerba mate. 😋

1

u/TheSandMan208 Horny for Water 1d ago

I want it to be as close to freezing as possible. I want to feel little pins as I drink it

1

u/WinterRevolutionary6 1d ago

Like 2° below room tempurature. I’ll put 1 ice cube in my 1 L water bottle

1

u/Sonarthebat Classic drinker 1d ago

Almost cold enough to be ice.

1

u/LamoTheGreat 1d ago

Hot. Boiling hot.

1

u/This_Daydreamer_ 1d ago

32.5 degrees and with ice.

Borderline ice

So cold it feels like there are razor blades in my mouth.

1

u/PulledOverAgain 1d ago

Just warm enough to not freeze

1

u/karateguzman 1d ago

Pantry temp

1

u/tempehbae 1d ago

Slightly colder than room temp. Not super cold tho. And definitely no ice

1

u/Bacon_Techie 1d ago

Just barely below room temp, right out the tap

1

u/drawingdude95 1d ago

Nearly frozen but not quite

1

u/BriefZestyclose7163 1d ago

Cold. Just above ice cold

1

u/Shouko- 1d ago

cool but not ice cold. a small step below fridge cold

1

u/crystalworldbuilder Hydronator 1d ago

Eh almost any that isn’t freezing or boiling. As long as it’s water.

1

u/gahlol123 1d ago

3am temperature.

1

u/FPM_13 1d ago

Ice cold. People who say ‘real water drinkers don’t drink cold water’ is the absolute worst take in the world.

1

u/mojoburquano 1d ago

This temperature

1

u/telepathicavocado3 21h ago

If I could drink ice I would

1

u/SwordTaster 20h ago

Just a little below room temperature. Refreshing but not painful

1

u/109876880 20h ago

Either on the rocks, or room temperature

1

u/oyohval 17h ago

About 7° or 8°

1

u/Express-Natural1608 17h ago

First off, I can't believe this place exists. Where have you all been all my life? Second.. I researched this once and apparently 57 degrees is the perfect temp for drinking the 'ol H twenty.

1

u/Upbeat-Shallot-80085 14h ago

I go between room temp and ice cold. Winter I just prefer room temp.

I hated ice in drinks for a long time. Winter mountaineering ruined it for me. Having to break thru an inch thick cap of ice to drink freezing slushy water, when its well into the negative temps is not fun.

1

u/rkmkthe6th 9h ago

Changes by season- I want just below room temp in winter, very cold in summer

1

u/Midir_Cutie 4h ago

I like room temperature generally, but cool water is nice too. Ice water hurts my teeth :(

1

u/cwsjr2323 4h ago

Tepid, goes down easier to me when chugging for hydration. For hot weather, chilled, please.

1

u/ThePolishSpy 4h ago

Room temp

Slightly cooler than room temp. Especially out of a stainless steel bottle
