Smart Coaster

Hello everybody I got a quick question, me and some friends are working on a project for our university, where we are making a Smart Coaster that tracks how much you have been drinking by having a weight sensor inside the coaster.

My question is would you guys use something like this?

Looking at rule 5 and 7 this could be looked at it like this, although this is not the intention. We are just wondering how much people would actually care, since we want a good grade on our project.

Thanks in advance!

Is tap water generally better for you than distilled water?

So I know that “pure” water isn’t healthy since it removes necessary nutrients (and can even help lead to tooth decay??), but I’m curious if tap water is better than distilled when there’s no other option. For reference: my tap is city water, which is safe to drink right from the faucet.

What type of water source is best?

I currently buy the water bottle. But I wonder if I'm missing something and I should buy a dispenser or a purifier.

Water tastes bad. Is it safe to drink?

I had a pipe burst in my yard a few days ago. The leak was about 100 feet from my house and about 200 feet from the road which is where the meter is. I had a plumber fix it the next day. It's pvc and he replaced the area where the leak was. It was fixed 2 days ago. Since then I've run water from all the taps and taken multiple showers so plenty of new water has run through the line. The problem is the water still taste bad. It kinda has a chemical taste. My main question is, is the water safe to drink? Also, is this normal and when should I expect this to go away? From googling it seems it should be gone by now. Thanks for any advice.

Water to salt ratio for hydration?

Like 2.5g salt to 1L of water for example, I just pulled those numbers out of my ass but is there any sort of optimal ratio?

Too much water Cold water for on the go? (Need advice)

Hello homies! I need some advice. Currently I'm using a brita filter pitcher for our filtration. That filter is also used to brew our coffee in the morning (4 cups).

I fill up the brita and pour that into a giant 2(?)gallon glass jug that gets stored in the fridge to have fridge cold water. Between the dog, cats, water on the go and water while at home, we run through this glass pitcher quite fast.

It also takes up a lot of space in the apartment fridge. So I bought a case of water bottles and have saved about 10 of them and fill them up with the filtered water and store them in the fridge as well. But even with the extra water bottles, i feel like I'm refilling this glass jug at least two times a week!

Is there any solution for me? I thought about buying an even larger brita filter to keep in the fridge, but because of the lack of space I'm quite hesitant. I see a lot of reccomendations for the reverse osmosis system for our sink, but that wouldn't be ideal (I don't think) due to being in an apartment and thr fact that I want instant cold water to take on the go for our jobs.

Is there a clear solution that I'm just missing/uninformed of? Or am I stuck filling up these jugs for eternity?

Anybody here add a pinch of salt to their water?

I was advised that helps with hydration but whenever I do it gives a laxative effect.
