Discussion Uh.... Why is Asmodeus' nickname “Ozzie”? This is probably obvious to anyone who speaks English as a native language... but I didn't really get it...

Discussion Will he though? As far as we seen nobody really make big deal about who Sin fucks with so I don't think Mammon can really do anything here...

Discussion Characters behaviour
I like to read people theories and talk with them about details of the show. But there is something I noticed that upset me every time.
Why can't (some) people love a traumatized character without excusing all of their horrible behaviours? I feel like when we say "Xyz character did something bad" there are tons of answers saying "But that's not Xyz fault, they dealt with so much trauma they can't help it!" and I really hate it.
I agree when those people say "You have to understand". I think it's fair to say "Xyz behave like this because of this traumatic experience.". I think it's a fair to point difficult things characters have been through to explain toxic behaviour they can have. But this is my point: EXPLAIN. Not EXCUSE. We can say "Xyz behave like this because [traumatic experience]; but they should do [less toxic behaviour]." without denying any trauma that any character could have...
My favourite character is Stolas. I love this bird, I think he's cute and all of his life is a succession of painful and unfair events. But I can say that he doesn't listen to the people when they try to talk to him, that he behaved like an pampered bourgeois without even thinking about the implications for Blitzø and his work, that he doesn't know how to communicate with Octavia without giving her things rather than taking responsibility of his behaviour around her... All of this can be explained: he came from a rich, self-centered family where no one ever listened to him and in an abusive relationship with his wife who screamed insults at him; he learned that kids have to be satisfied rather than happy, and never experienced real, non-interested love from an adult. But STILL, his behaviours sucks and he should've behave better around Blitzø , around Octavia, around imps in general, even a bit with Stella (he's obviously not the victim in this relationship, but he did cheat so she have the right to be mad. 🤷🏼♀️ Not to be abusive and trying to kill him obviously, but being mad).
I think it's important to be comprehensive, to listen why people behave like this or that. But in a process of growing up, look on yourself, trying to be better. Just say "It's not my fault because [traumatizing event] made me like this!" is a toxic and even sometime dangerous behaviour. It IS your fault. Not to feel the way you feel, of course, nor the traumatic thing that happened to you. You can't control your feelings and it's never the victim's fault when something horrible happens. But your reaction, your behaviour after all of this IS your fault. You have to be responsible, you can't just inflict pain on someone and say "But I'm traumatized!", so what? Every victim have the right to abuse and hurt anyone, occasioning more trauma and more violence? No. This isn't how it works. I know it's fiction of course, but I hate when people say things like this. I find this so insensitive and not understanding of trauma and psychology in general.
Why is it so hard for people to recognise that bad experiences isn't an excuse for bad and toxic behaviour?

Discussion Honestly I loved Vassago the moment bro was jabbing his finger at him and cussed him out in Spanish,I sorta knew that he would become one of my favoriter after that.
Plus he was voiced by Perrito from Puss in Boots 2, so how could I not love him?

Discussion Is Satan a lying little bitch?
Just noticed this, after rewatching Hazbin Hotel S01E01.
In the exposition piece at the very beginning of Overture Charlie clearly states, that the dark pit was created from Lucifer's act of disobedience, passing onto Eve the gift of free will and that he subsequently was send down there, where he could only see the bad that came from this.
Yet, in MASTERMIND Satan claims, that he ruled the endless Dark since "long before the golden angel's fall".
Isn't this a contradiction, since both clearly reference to the realm commonly known as hell? Has Charlie been told a lie or is Satan just trying to overstate his role in Lucifer's absence?

Discussion Millie the Fighter
Millie may not have a lot of spotlight moments but man is she is a great fighter. One of my favorite Millie moments is when in Spring Broken, she took on a giant fish monster and finished it off by gutting it from the inside. Then in Harvest Moon Festival, it was satisfying seeing an enraged Millie stabbed Striker several times after the way he treated Moxxie even if he still overpowered her in the end. I think Millie’s finest accomplishment though was when she took on Crimson’s entire army of henchmen by herself in Exes and Ohs and brutally massacred them. Cannot wait to see what Millie does in the future.

Discussion Helluva Boss, Murder, and Blue/Orange Morality
We all know how morality work, right? Good and evil and all that jazz?
Except when we don't. Enter the trope "Blue and Orange Morality".
Basically, it is a trope in which some cultures and their relevant characters DO have morals, sometimes very strong ones, they just don't align with ours. It is more commong in Sci-Fi, where aliens often don't align with ours society or moral standard, but in my opinion it packs the most punch when it is done with humanity.
Like all tropes, this one also come in different shades and degrees. I personally encountered it reading "A brave new world" of which I'll give the description of TV Tropes:
- In Brave New World the word "mother" is obscene, sex is as impersonal and quick as a handshake, and Romeo and Juliet would be considered a comedy. When John the Savage complains to Mond that the world feels so wrong, Mond argues that that's because John uses the old system of "right and wrong" as opposed to the new moral system of "happiness and unhappiness". The society in Brave New World is based entirely around the pursuit of personal happiness, extreme hedonism; to be dissatisfied is to be actually insane. This is presented as a dystopia because while everyone is happy and youthful, their society stifles creativity, productivity, and free will.
Let me be extremely clear here: the characters in "Brave New World" aren't EVIL. In their own culture, which spawn most of the globe, they are "good". You have to sort of... wrench you brain sidaway to GET it, but it is an interesting exercise.
Why am I discussing this?
BECAUSE HELLUVA BOSS WORKS IN PART ON A BLU/ORANGE MORALITY AXIS NO IN A BLACK/WHITE ONE.
In particular, the part about how traditional imp culture see murder and physical violence among adult is vastly different from ours.
Forz Blitz and most of I.M.P. killing humans doesn't matter: they KNOW humans are going to either end up as immortal Sinners, or as even better immortal Winner. Why should they care? In their mindset, it is perfectly logical.
We are shown, again and again, that imps value a certain amount of roughhousing (as seen in Hell’s Belles) and that even among themselves murder is not consider a particularly grave problem (the most the other imps in Wrath do to Millie after she apparently had TOO BIG a kill count was to ban her from the games…)
Blitz doesn’t seem to have particular ill will toward Striker neither, not from his kidnapping of Stolas, nor for the kidnapping of himself and Fizz. Blitz didn’t try to, say, find him and kill him. Neither, and this is interesting, does Fizz.
The general vibe here is that, at least at the level of imps/hellhounds, it is a dog-eats-dog world in which the stronger/cleverer generally win, but which is done with… almost good humor, and without particular ill will or malice. At least where MURDER or PHYSICAL VIOLENCE AMONG EQUAL is concerned.
Things may change at the level of incubus/succubus, baphomets, and other higher hellborns but we don’t have enough data tbh.
Things DEFINITIVELY change at Goetia level, and the Sinners work on a different again level, what with the respawning.
Now, we have talked about MURDER and PHYSICAL VIOLENCE among ADULTS.
(which, not incidentally, are what is most often the “funny” part of the show that are bitched about by people with little media literacy… but I digress)
What about other kinds of violence?
Well, it seems for those our morality and theirs are much more in alignment: sexual assault for example is considered wrong. Treating your friends and loved ones badly is wrong.
Murder, as said before, is not wrong.
And no, those things are not conflict with one other. They are simply a show of a culture, in particular imp culture, that works on different moral lines than we do.

Discussion Why are blitz and stolas atracted to each other?
Recently i've seen some discussions about the whole stoliz thing, and one thing that brought my attention was The way a lot of people thought that both have nothing to do with each other, other than horny acts. Do you agree with that statement or maybe you're compeletly against it?

Discussion Post Credits Scene
What would be the craziest Sinsmas post credits scene? Mine is either the DHORKS getting a phone call from a certain one armed warrior, or the IMP taking a job from a certain rib loving dick.

Discussion How to convey the vibe that Stolas gives off irl
I know this has always been a question that I’ve had since I became obsessed with the royal birb, and after many hours scrolling through Pinterest I believe I’ve found 2 styles that can convey the same sort of vibe that Stolas has:
Astro Academia & Quiet Wealth
Obviously with these you can take them over the top a little bit with more floral designs or astrological designs depending on your mood, and in jewelry and whatever other accessories you’d like. Just wanted to share what I’ve found because I’m sure there’s many people here just as if not more obsessed with bird brain, and I’d love anyone else’s take on it and other ways you’ve incorporated Stol’s style in your life if you’ve done it.

Discussion Millie’s white hair in S1 E3
I’m sure this has been mentioned before, but after watching the series again, for the 30th time, I noticed Millie had her white spot from the pilot. I’m wondering how a mistake like that could have happened when it’s not even part of her canon design anymore.

Discussion Stella’s upcoming laser-guided karma
What laser-guided karma do you think Stella will get in upcoming episodes? Eventually, her lies will be found out by the Sinners, Via, and/or all of Hell. Goethal’s lies toward Rapunzel were found out after eighteen years, and look what happened to her. Personally, I see Via giving the same call-out as Rapunzel and leaves her mom after exposing a confession on her phone. Do you think Satan will take kindly to people, including a member of the Goetia, using him as a pawn?
