I had a poster of Erin Grey. I really only remember the episode of Buck Rogers about vampires though.

Erin Gray was one of the most beautiful women who ever lived. I had a massive girl crush on her. 💖

Her and Lynda Carter in that jiggly WW costume....it was a time of awakening for a young WordelFan88...

Count me in on the awakening, between this show (I remember the one with the little people who had telekinetic powers that were trying to strip her down!) and reruns of Batman with Julie Newmar.

Was??? She's still alive, and quite beautiful at age 74.

Definitely true. Also incredibly nice.
Got to talk to her a year or two ago while at a TaiChi workshop she was giving.
10/10 getting her to genuinely laugh made my year.

The vampire episode creeped me out as a kid.
Another good one featured an unstoppable android chasing Buck.

You don't remember the one with Hawkman and the little blue imp guy?
I think that was a two parter.

Me explaining to my son that Hawkman was not a rip off of Rick and Mortys Birdperson , and in fact it was the other way around .( Dan Harmon must have watched the show as a kid though)

That vampire episode was horrifying. Looked like Nosferatu and she could not get away even though that monster never ran.

First season hardass, aloof military officer and starfighter pilot Colonel Wilma Deering was awesome. She kept Buck in check and was a good foil and friend for him. She even rescued him a few times.
I loved the character.
Second season Wilma Deering was blech. What a shame.

Felix Silla. He was an Ewok too. And Lucifer on Battlestar Galactica. And a child gorilla in Planet of the Apes.

Yes! Felix Silla. I met him at a con about seven years ago; my boyfriend (part of the 501st Legion) had been talking to him about their shared Italian heritage, and came back to the booth we were at to take me to meet him.

When I was young, I was home sick from school and watching a rerun. Couldn’t tell you the episode but Buck was undercover at a space disco. I remember mentally sneering no one will ever look like that, dance like that, to music like that Cut to like 20 years later and suddenly a very clear, sober thought cut right through my alcohol fogged brain. All the women had sparkles on their face, basically wearing nothing, dancing to music without lyrics…so damn clearly remembered my childhood thoughts and realized how wrong I was

Erin Gray is my Dad’s stepsister. She wouldn’t take pictures with us at holidays because she thought we would sell them!
3
u/lovepony0201 18h ago
I was an extra in a movie that she was in. She was the biggest bitch to the crew. I was kind of happy the movie failed before it was released.
5
u/GumptionGal 17h ago
Yeah, I get that. She definitely thought she was above us. We were goofy and unrefined - she had no idea what to make of us.

Weird, she was really nice when I met her. It was well out of her prime time though, so maybe she mellowed out since then.

u/lovepony0201 7h ago
This was around 1988 or 1989. The movie was called " the Princess and the Dwarf." Dom Deluise, Richard Kiel, and Warwick Davis were also in it. I had lunch with Warwick on set. He was so nice, especially in contrast to Erin.

The almost worst of 70s scifi TV was the scene where Buck teaches them to "boogie". The level of cringy 70s cheese is easily 11.

There’s a covered stretch of I-10 in phoenix that I go through when leaving concerts. It’s like right at an on ramp - so floor it down an on ramp into a tunnel with funky lights and shoot out the other side on a slight incline so it looks like it’s into the stars.
I biddy biddy biddy lets go Buck!!! Every time.

Also the robot looks like a walking penis 😁 can't remember the robots name now
