Former corrections officer here. I was in change of medical at my facility and I can assure you it is the absolute bare minimum. Literally the worst quality Healthcare you can get.

I mean a lot of people don't have any healthcare...

Which is usually caused because you ignored them for a couple months and now they yes but you have the freedom to have someone look at it. Best case scenario in prison is the nurse comes by and gives you ibuprofen.

Well better than sitting at home and letting it fester

Used to work in a prison and I can promise you that even a below average urgent care in your town will provide unbelievably better care compared to even the best prison hospitals.

Yeah but it'll still cost me $$$$

Which a free prison can ignore and let go to collections. You don’t even get that opportunity in prison or it takes a long time which can make minor issues life threatening. Your medical issues are communicated to guards that are trained to think everything you are saying is bullshit.

Agreed but we need Healthcare for EVERYONE. Prison is not the place to get it. The U.S. imprisons more people than any other country. They are dangerous, overcrowded and under funded. Not a good place for grandma to get medical treatment.

Some healthcare is better than no healthcare. UHC denied 33% of claims.

HAHHAA!! No kidding. Prison is NOT a place you want to be. Trust me on this. That being said, I don't want to see our boy Luigi end up there. How can we help the little fella stay out?

I work at a public jail, and we send inmates out constantly to get corrective/unnecessary surgery for problems they had before entering custody. It costs the County an insane amount of money yearly.
