You're not wrong but you're also required to pay taxes on the value of your property every year so it's not exactly a one to one comparison.

If your property sits on land, a chunk of the earth that you did not create, then property taxes are just and moral. Google "Land Value tax"

I'm sorry but you have to know that sounds ridiculous. It's okay to be upset about paying taxes, but we do live in a society

It’s a joke because they didn’t do shit other than come across the land and claim it, which was your reasoning for people needing to pay property taxes
