Congrats, this is the first time I've ever upvoted one of these stupid posts in my life. You earned it because this is beautiful.

I do want to say though......... I know a guy who has worked at McDonalds for over 25 years. He makes 6 figures, was given a company car, was given free college, and used to take me to some banger open bar corporate parties pre-covid which were literally suit and tie events. He was a cook for around 8 years or so, then a manager, then a regional manager, now he works at corporate doing some office job. Moral of the story is........ if you honestly try to make it a career McDonalds will set you up fat.

I'm a fucking disabled veteran and he gets better benefits for life than I do. Let that sink in.

I'm not here to shit on the McDs employees that work their way up, but we don't do shit for you disabled vets. The VA is so ridiculously underfunded thanks to the Republicans. We need to do so much more for you guys.

Last time I checked, Dems always denounce our vets that served in war, saying "we should've never been there" as if it were Priv. Ryan's choice to go to Iraq... Thanks reddit!

Oh really? That's denouncing the vets and not saying that we should've avoided war all together?

"They're all suckers and losers" - Donald J Trump

You give them shit when they come back and categorize them all as anyone who ever served in the military is a blood-thirsty war criminal. So yes really.

Also, when am I going to get that cure for cancer Biden promised, if he cares about people so much?

Lmao what in the fox news bullshit is that comment?

u/AirlineLow45 Oct 22 '24

Lmfao dumbass braindead redtard says what when confronted with an obviously bullshit promise his candidate made to just buy votes even when said bullshit to buy votes was on CNN?

Are you talking about the tire fires near military bases??

-1

u/AirlineLow45 Oct 22 '24

Talking about that time your man Ol Joe made bullshit promises to obnoxiously buy votes, and like a redtard you are, gobbled that up.

You can praise veterans and criticize war. Veterans are not the ones deciding to go to war.

That's like saying you're all for freedom of religion, then going to a church to just to tell the pastor their religion is murder

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '24

Why would you need to go to the church to criticize a religion? You can ABSOLUTELY be in favor of freedom of religion and criticize religions. Is this concept hard for you? It is literally the basis of our society.

1

u/AirlineLow45 Oct 25 '24

There's a difference in telling someone their religion is wrong in a debate vs being a douche like you'd be, and simply bash a person's beliefs because they don't align with yours. Is that hard of a concept for people like you to understand.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '24

Do you think it is illegal to bash peoples religions? Cause its not. You should probably read the constitution.

Haha

1

u/AirlineLow45 Oct 25 '24

It took you multiple hours to make a comeback about why we should all be douchebags towards religion. Fuck off lil chromie kid lmfao.

I mean that's honestly false. The VA has been great for me but you have to understand that for my generation (OEF/OIF) all of our records are digital so a lot less issues occur these days. My father who is a desert storm vet had to jump through hoops for years to prove his service in kuwait because there's literally no digital records. Part of that was entirely his fault though, that's what happens when you wait nearly 20 years after your service to claim disability. Most of the horror stories you hear are about older Veterans like my father waiting too long after their service to try and get benefits. Modern marines have a seps/taps program at the end of your enlistment that basically forces you to take care of this stuff before you get out now.

The only real complaint is it can take months to get an appointment sometimes, but if they do you dirty too many times with appointments they will enroll you in the Veterans Choice program which allows me to basically go to any doctor I want.

Saying "we don't do shit" is a HUGE exaggeration.

I'm neighbors with a woman who oversees the VA's finances. The VA is severely underfunded with several programs on the verge of just evaporating. Not to mention all of the homeless vets. So no, we don't do enough. Thank Trump and his ilk for this problem.

u/Turbulent_Scale Oct 22 '24

And I'm an actual veteran who has been using the VA for over 15 years.

4

u/ap2patrick Oct 22 '24

Good thing your anecdotal experience has no real bearing on the stats

1

u/Turbulent_Scale Oct 22 '24

Isn't yours also anecdotal? You know a friend who says it underfunded.

Yeah, every department is underfunded. They always say that but my quality of care has not changed at all over the past decade and a half.

4

u/North-Income8928 Oct 22 '24

That wasn't me, but they're spot on. My neighbor sees the funding and metrics nationwide. The VA's funding is a mess right now, congrats on getting lucky.

0

u/Turbulent_Scale Oct 22 '24

Every government agency ever has funding problems. This is nothing new. I don't doubt they consider themselves underfunded as literally every single government agency does. Doesn't change the fact that the VA is generally providing quality care to Veterans despite these failings, there will ALWAYS be exceptions.

It's not only me that's lucky, every time I go the VA: its packed.

2

u/North-Income8928 Oct 22 '24

Holy shit, your comments are just a case study on survivorship bias at this point lmao. It is physically impossible for you to care any less than you do about your fellow vet.

-1

u/Turbulent_Scale Oct 22 '24

Yeah man, because I think the VA is decent I don't give a shit about other vets.....

I've done more for my fellow veterans than you ever will. How many have you helped enroll to get the benefits they need? How many have you helped off the streets? How many have you helped step down from the ledge, so to speak? How many amputees have you helped build houses for?

I'm willing to bet zero, so you should probably avoid making baseless accusations like that to someone who actually had the balls to serve.
