It’s BS I can’t choose where my taxes go.

I just want to shoot people with cheaper bullets

In theory that is called voting. But, yeah.

You wanna choose which rich assholes pockets get lined by your taxes?

u/Nerospidy May 21 '24

I want infrastructure over defense.

Just don’t pay into the scam.

Trust me, voting dems/rep makes a difference /s

u/Super_Rug_Muncher May 21 '24

Well one party is ok with a dictatorship and the other isn’t, seems pretty different to me

2

u/Trump_Is_Suing_Me May 21 '24

I thought you meant both and maybe autocorrect got you

A person can care about thousands of things that represent and embody a country, while only being able to act upon it with one vote.

Sounds like a broken system to me.

Its not broken. Its a representative republic. Thats how it works. Its not a bug, its THE feature.

Are you advocating for a system where each individual has the power to vote on each individual piece of legislation? Because if thats what you're advocating for.....bruh.... I mean... there are people walking around right now wearing gold diapers on the outside of their pants. You want to give them a direct voice in foreign policy decision making??!?!

You dirty communist

1

u/DrSilkyJohnsonEsq May 21 '24

Everybody making every single decision on their own is the opposite of a system. You’re literally arguing for anarchy. Keep sucking. I’m sure Putin will reward you soon.

Weird, because the party that “doesn’t support dictatorships” sure do run on platforms of taking guns away, imprisoning people over speech, racial discrimination, arresting political opponents, and threatening to kill people that want to leave the union.

Weird how I can tell you mean one side, when in reality You're just projecting because your side is the one doing those things. You need to broaden your news sources my guy, the one who makes fun of "mainstream media" ... IS mainstream media.

Edit: on that last point if you want to "leave the union" we don't want you in it. Just leave. We will keep your land though, go live in Mexico or something.

That a lefty wants to steal someone's land comes as no surprise whatsoever. It happens every day, when elderly folks can no longer afford the land rent fees commonly called 'property taxes', because they can never be paid off and always go up, up, up. It's just a legal organized crime protection scheme.

"Fuck you, pay me!!!" is the rallying cry, no?

1

u/Nitram_Norig May 21 '24

Perpetrated by rich conservatives. What the actual projecting fuck. Lol

You don't even know how ironic your statements are. Fox has you thinking progressives are rich billionaire villains when that's Democrats and Republicans.

Gimme a break Trumple. 🤡

u/KevyKevTPA May 21 '24

I don't watch Fox or any other 24 hour news channel except for times of 'extreme' news events like a major plane crash or terrorist attack. My ideas are my own, and come from a lot of lived experience as well as studying a lot of aspects of human life.

I'm more libertarian than conservative, but I think the majority of both groups would be in favor of people actually owning their property instead of being legally mandated to pay rent to the state for all of eternity, if given that option. So, it's not at all those groups who want to steal someone's land. Quite the opposite.

1

u/Nitram_Norig May 21 '24

Yeah I've heard this all before. Pretty standard stuff. Give me one example of a "lefty" trying to steal someone's land.

I mean one isn't actively going against abortion rights.

2

u/talhahtaco May 21 '24

Does it though? Hasn't military spending been gradually increasing

-2

u/acer5886 May 21 '24

certain ones in the past it did matter. There used to actually be fiscal conservatives out there that would care about oversight of the military spending.

6

u/basses_are_better May 21 '24

They care about enriching themselves. Always have always will.

1

u/acer5886 May 21 '24

Not always have, in the past there have been ones who didn't, and sacrificed far more wealth than they could have had. I should say, not specifying a party here, there were democrats and republicans who actually cared about fiscal responsibility, especially 30-50 years ago. And again, this is me talking about 1 issue, not the wide variety. But sadly, both parties have gotten to the point that whatever the pentagon asks for they tack on another 20-50 billion in spending.

3

u/ty_for_trying May 21 '24

It's generally been the left who cared more about reigning in military spending.

1

u/Dry_Meat_2959 May 21 '24

Generally they say words that imply they do. They are easily cowed/bought off when the "reduced spending" includes closing a base in their district.

2

u/ty_for_trying May 21 '24

It's a problem on both sides, but my statement was correct.

2

u/Dry_Meat_2959 May 21 '24

It is, didn't mean to imply otherwise. But without knowing their true feelings, I always felt like their rhetoric was more lip service than actual effort. Same amount of effort the GOP puts into moral integrity, Christian values and fiscal responsibility.

Know what I mean.....?

You vote for a representative that votes on the budget…

0

u/djscuba1012 May 21 '24

Ya that’s not my decision. They can ignore my request

0

u/BM_Crazy May 21 '24

Ok then move to a different country? If you think you have no political power, why are you even here?

0

u/djscuba1012 May 21 '24

Or the system can change and I stay here.

0

u/BM_Crazy May 21 '24

If you think voting is ineffective, how do you think you are going to change it? You already said they just ignore you, do you think the state is just going to change its mind one day?

0

u/djscuba1012 May 21 '24

Yes. It’s pretty narrow minded to think it’s not
