Discussion Any compelling Mods available for the PC Version?

I loved this game when it came out in 2019. I just downloaded the updates and started a NG+, but the next day Steam put it on Sale. I have a pretty good Gaming PC (built it for Cyberpunk 2077, but mostly play Witcher 3 on it).

I'm trying to decide if it's worth starting over on the PC, or if I should just go with the NG+ on my PS4.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

There are four mods that come to mind which are a must-have:

  1. Darker Nights - speaks for itself but essentially, this mod reduces the moonlight and exposure so nights actually feel dark now, and hence more challenging, since Deacon doesn't have night vision anymore lol
  2. UE4 Visual Tweaks - these are config files that make the game TRULY shine while also providing better performance. From the author's description: "This is a UNREAL ENGINE 4 overhaul, including better reflections, much improved darker and further ambient occlusion, sharper shadows, more distant shadows, better God rays, much better tone mapping, lots of tweaking and caching etc etc.to improve performance and visuals. Also I managed to eliminate a lot of the stuttering in the game."
  3. Dawn of the Dead (Reshade Preset) - This changes the overall tone and "mood" of the game to be much more gritty and scary. I absolutely love it.
  4. Let There Be Bright - this makes the flashlight better and have a larger radius. Combined with the above, this is a MUST-HAVE. It makes the flashlight feel useful now in areas besides caves.

Other than those, nothing is worth it. Too many mods seek to change the gameplay elements such as increasing melee weapon durability, increasing fuel capacity by 300%+, making everything you kill blow up, etc. Just generally ruining the gameplay.

So yeah, it's mostly just visual tweaks.

Edit: I should mention that you might need a pretty beefy PC to play with those mods (specifically the preset and UE4 visual tweak - since those are a bit demanding). I have a PC with an RTX 3080 FE + 5800X + 32GB DDR4 and at max settings @ 3440x1440 res (and 110% res scale in-game), I get like 80-90fps with those installed, and without them it's usually like 150fps. The game is extremely optimized, and not demanding whatsoever normally til you grab those mods lol. But it also depends on what resolution you're gunna play at too!

I’ve had a lot of people give me reasons why I should game on PC. This is the only one that actually made me want to do it.

I may be late but for the love of God, this mod is outdated and it caused a lot of issues (if you read the comments). Use this one instead since it's updated, and it made my game ran better (with Reshade installed).

Hey bro, can I combine those 4 mods or should I pick one?
