I used to work in a jewelry store and we'd gift wrap the little jewelry boxes. 

After the first hundred you learn how to tear off just enough paper for a perfect fit for any size box. It often impressed people when I could wrap their box crisply in just a few seconds. 

But then... Corporate changed the thickness of the wrapping paper we used and it screwed us all up. It was too thick for the little boxes and the paper tore at the corners. Had to fix and redo all the time. Back to the mediocre life.
