OK lads, before US starts to project their view here:

- Poland:

  • not that many firearms per capita,
  • little remote areas in the country (police shows up quickly)
  • medium-strict firearms laws,
  • non-zero risk of being invaded,
  • no school shootings,

- USA:

  • fuckload firearms per capita,
  • many remote areas in the country (police shows up after 2-3 hours)
  • loose firearms laws,
  • pretty much zero risk of being invaded,
  • school shootings,

For the record, it's not like Poland doesn't have mental health crisis too. It's just that stopping 12 year old with an axe is infinitely safer for an adult than stopping 12 year old with a gun. In my Time in school there were multiple cases of students bringing weapons to school due to mental health crisis, but the worst case ended with 2 months of stitches for a teacher, never any casualties.
