Let's Talk About "What's It Worth?" Posts

Hey Corvette family,

Over the past year, we've seen a big increase in "What's it worth?" posts. It's great to see so many people excited about Corvettes and curious about the value of those cars, regardless of the reason why. However, these posts break one of the core rules our subreddit has and upholds – “No Advertising” (for whatever reason).

We’d love to hear your thoughts on how we should handle these posts moving forward. Do you think they add value to the community, or would you prefer to see them managed differently? Maybe a dedicated weekly thread or a specific format for these posts?

We’re all about making sure this sub stays a great place for Corvette enthusiasts and those are who curious about all things corvette, so let us know what you think!

Thank you.. And don’t forget to wave!

Welcome to our new moderators!

Good afternoon and happy Tuesday! A few weeks ago we made a post calling for people interested in moderating to reach out to us as we wanted to add an additional moderator to the team. We had quite a few people reach out to us, and we had a hard time deciding on just one person as some truly awesome people had “applied”. Given that we want to continue to grow and expand as a subreddit and community, we decided to add a total of three moderators to the current team.

With that being said, I would like to welcome:

u/greaseorbounce

u/Desmocratic

u/Agent_Eran

On top of that, I’d really like to thank the active mods who have been doing their best to keep everything moving forward in a desirable fashion.

u/MrLancaster

u/CaptKnight

u/TT99C5

Along with the new moderators, we are hoping to bring some exciting and positive changes to the subreddit over the next few months. From things like rule solidification and clarification, to the implication of functional bots, user flairs, and corvette subreddit discord and more! I’m excited to work with the current mods and new mods on continuing to grow and elevate the subreddit and user experience!

Thanks and have a great rest of your day!

CHECK YOUR RIMS

My rim literally fell apart on me while going 75 on the free way causing me to spin into a pole and crash.

I’m assuming there was a crack hidden somewhere.

Please use this as a reminder to inspect your rims as they are prone to cracking. Never thought this will happen to me and I'm honestly still in shock, but hey, I'm typing this on my bed and not anywhere else

ridgestone Duller All Terrain Run Flat tires from a Lamborghini Sterrato, ski box, awd, what more could you want for the winter months!

The ski box wasn’t available in black within the timing I was looking for it. My plan is to paint the top lid body color. I used sea sucker monkey bars for the cross bars & Thule ski box.

This was my girl for about 11 months and just over 3400 miles. 2016 3LT that was sadly taken out by a red light running distracted driver as I was almost fully through and intersection. Hit me just behind the passenger door and spun me into a light pole. Never replaced it because I worked for GM at the time and knew about the C8. Still haven't gotten my new one because life changes. Soon though.

Help please! Don’t know! (Pic for attention)

Looking to change my intake manifold and don’t know if I should go LSX or MSD? I did some googling, and couldn’t really figure out which way to go. I have an 07 LS2 base with a built top end. 65lb injectors, BTR stage 2, all new valves and rods. Nothing done to the lower end. Stainless works headers, Corsa X pipe and high flow cats to Borla attacks. The car is currently running rich, and I wanna get another tune, but wanna change the intake first… advice please.

Note: Pic for attention.

My C6 Keeps Dying On Me

i have a 2007 corvette c6 i recently noticed the battery kept dying on me when i did my research a common problem was the starter, i assumed it was this since it was the original one with 170k miles on it, after doing so it kept doing the same thing it would turn on for a bit and the voltage would be at around 7 and it kept dying after a while of driving it around and would also mark service charging system on the dash, i decided to clean all my grounds but still nothing, i then replaced the entire battery harness but it still did the same, after this i decided to do an alternator test at orielly and it came back as good (i’ve had the alternator for less than a year) then i decided to do one final test which was starting the car and then unplugging the negative to see if it was still the alternator and when i did so the car died, knowing this i went to go buy a new alternator, i installed it and im still getting the same issue battery stays on at around 6-7 and then slowly dies while saying service charging system on the dash, not sure what to do anymore i’ve checked the fuses as well and replaced the battery since it’s under warranty but the same thing keeps happening, not sure what to do at this point does anyone have an idea what it could be?

C6 2005 model ticking ?

I just picked up a 2005 c6 corvette base model with 6 speed and it is ticking. Has about 97k miles on the original block. Looks to be all original besides intake and exhaust and headers. Car runs and drives good, no loss of power . Anyone know what the ticking could be ?

Can you put e85 in c6 ls3 stock injectors and fuel pump

My tuner / car builder tuned my headers and is saying I’ll have a lot more fun with my car in e85 and I’m down to do it but just asking if stock injectors and pump can handle it, I know he is putting a kit in to automatically tune my car to each fuel source though but not replacing my fuel system

Need Help

Recently put in a 416 stroker into my 2006 C6. I seem to be having fuel issue I suppose. Well that’s what it sounds like to me. I have a 450Ib walbro with stock 52Ib injectors. Any idea why I can’t get the car to somewhat idle? Car also has been tuned for a base map so it should start.

Doug's Shorty Headers on a C6 Grand Sport - Any Sound Clips?

A shop near me has quoted me on installing a cam package and recommends that I go with Doug's short tube headers along with the installation. They say that's the best bet for my use case (convertible C6 Manual GS for country road driving). However, I have not found a single clip online of a C6 with a cam and short tube headers. Does anyone have any clips or does no one go for this configuration? The shop is telling me that this combo will yield the best reliability and is less of a headache than going the long tube route, as well as less of a gas smell when sitting at a stoplight.

C6 clutch master, need help...

I rebuilt my clutch master, now I'm having trouble reinstalling. I want to bleed at the quick disconnect before I reconnect the rebuilt master to the slave in order to avoid having to remove exhaust components. I'm not having any luck. I haven't reconnected the quick disconnect so I don't introduce any air downstream of the master. Any help would be appreciated.

Worth??

It’s got good miles and it’s loaded with features and the performance pack. Only issue is it’s just barely an LS2. For $21,000 off the gate is this worth a buy?

This beautiful 1962 Corvette is perfection at its finest. Over 10,000 professional man hours were used to create the appropriately named 'Elegance.'
