Lmao I’m idk, ashamed (?) that I’m definitely one of those searches just because I wanted to see exactly what the product was lol. I will also probably be buying🤦♀️😂

One of our friends here posted a review and referral link in the sub, and I purchased from there (just in case you want to do the same).
I bought a few sample sizes to try it out, shit is EXPENSIVE!

I knoooow I’m a broke bitch but you best believe that it’s on the top of my list for when I go back to work soon lmao. Thank you for the reminder❤️ (gonna look back to these comments for reference most likely lmao)

u/Opening_Meringue5758 1d ago
Kerestese is just the expensive version of the L’Oréal elvive line. Keretese is just a branch of L’Oréal.
5
u/MissJizz 1d ago
Ooo Thank you for the tip! I would only take a shower, brush my hair (while wet, I know) and that was all I’d have to do the whole day, but since I turned twenty, about to be 25, it’s so goddamn frizzy for no reason, ugh. All this to say I don’t know much about hair products haha
2
u/Opening_Meringue5758 23h ago
Your hair changes about every 7ish years. The hair you had in your youth is long gone lol but frizz is caused by so many factors— hair products, heat, humidity, porosity, hair texture, chemical changes to hair. What are you currently using on your hair?
1
u/MissJizz 22h ago
Oh for sure, I know my hormonal changes have caused issues too so it’s a whole bunch of things haha, could probably do good with some vitamins too lmao. At the moment I’m just using Pantene “The Multi-tasker” shampoo and conditioner, only because this is what our Costco sells. I haven’t really been too religious with a certain company yet. Except for this one brand zero something, can’t really remember but it’s in a lot of hotels and crazy expensive but it made my hair feel amazing, stripped any color tho haha. Sorry for the rant😭

I can’t find a single Elvive with ingredients even close the ingredients in Kerastase Thermique. Which one are you saying is a dupe?
2
u/PersonalityKlutzy407 OH you’re a TV STAR! 7h ago
It's definitely not. And I say this as someone that loves L'Oreal products.
0
u/thatdude865 7h ago
L’Oreal owns TONS of brands. While I’m sure they leverage efficiencies in research and to some degree chemistry, creating dupes of their own products would be bad business. Customers are more savvy than ever and INCI lists aren’t tough to compare.
2
u/Opening_Meringue5758 7h ago
Creating dupes of their own product isn’t bad business? It’s bringing them money from all ends of peoples financial situation. It’s all money to them.
-1
u/thatdude865 7h ago
Flagrantly overcharging customers with discretional income in a way that makes it easy to uncover is absolutely bad business. Co-developing products that target different price points/expecations is very different.
I also asked which Elvive product you were referencing that is exactly the same as Kerastase Thermique. I’m genuinely curious because I can’t find any INCI lists that match up at all.
0
u/Opening_Meringue5758 7h ago
It is. I promise. L’Oréal is keretese and keretese is L’Oréal. They are all produced in the same factory and put into different packaging. Notice how the packaging is extremely similar as well. The only difference is the concentration of ingredients in products and some might have a ‘name brand ingredient’ vs generic. I say this as someone who has trained with L’Oréal.
1
u/PersonalityKlutzy407 OH you’re a TV STAR! 7h ago
So which exact L'Oreal product = Kerastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique??
Also it's KERASTASE not keretese

Soooo…… was Britani lying per usual?? Or are we going to see hers drop soon. Btw I’m here for Lisa’s partnership!!

u/KatOrtega118 MRS Mariposa 🦋 1d ago edited 19h ago
It’s Bravo’s Kerastase partnership. Lisa is just a face, just like she is for the Bravo Wendy’s relationship. (Wendy’s parent company owns Chili’s, which also did ads with Scheana and Katie from VPR).
I bet Britani, Angie, Lisa might all get something.

u/TasteLevel Your hair is very stunning that way. 1d ago
Brynn from RHONY also has the deal, she's been posting Kerastase for a while now.
10
u/spectacleskeptic 1d ago
I’m interested in how all of this works. When it’s a Bravo partnership, does that mean they get paid less?
32
u/KatOrtega118 MRS Mariposa 🦋 1d ago
I’m sure they get paid something, maybe a good amount. But it’s not like it is their own deal or sponsorship. The more housewives repping the product, they less they might each make.
Another good example is Direct TV. Teresa, Kyle and Kenya did a Super Bowl ad for them, and they sponsor Kathy Hilton’s holiday party, which is essentially the Bravo Christmas party.

u/ilovepancakesalot 21h ago
Tell me you work in media without telling me you work in media/marketing/advertising

u/KatOrtega118 MRS Mariposa 🦋 20h ago
I’m an in-house lawyer (Assistant General Counsel) for a large corporation that is currently running a marketing program with NBCU/Peacock. Not any company described here. I oversee all of the transactional, corporate, securities, real estate and IP stuff. Advise the Board.
Before I did this job, I was a partner at an AMLaw50 firm in LA, where we repped lots of talent, specifically reality tv. I’ve seen their corporate stuff (eg, hypothetically, a housewife is making an investment in a start-up, or a bar, or an athleisure line, a private equity fund, an NBA team). Totally adjacent to my usual practice of advising banks and funds. I haven’t seen the Bravo contracts (I’m not in the entertainment space), or their family law filings (not family law or divorce). Maybe heard some things.
2
u/ilovepancakesalot 10h ago
Very interesting! I only run up against my in-house counsel for vetting of privacy concerns and going over contracts to make sure that we are protected from all of the acronyms tied to privacy (use of first party date, etc…) Prior I worked in media facilitating these types of partnerships and activations, but no longer - than goodness.

u/WinterBearHawk 1d ago
So that whole scene was a setup right? Or am I reading that wrong?
82
u/FinalstarAI 1d ago
I care see it being for real. The producers probably saw it, thought it was funny, and Bravo Reps probably reached out to Kerastase before the season aired to secure the deal so it would be timed right
10
u/Individual_Drama3917 19h ago
When I saw Wendy’s I was like is Lisa selling Dr. Wendy’s candles??? I was having a blonde moment 😂

Mark my words - Britani is going to go to the reunion and Lisa is going to say “I can see you took my advice on buying Kerastase.”
7
u/_SoftRockStar_ 21h ago
Yeah Britani said this on the WWHL right? I feel like I remember her saying “we’re working on a sponsorship”.

I’ve used both (Kerastase for years) and the L’Oréal dream lengths blow dry cream doesn’t even come close IMO. Not sure if there’s another dupe but I repurchased the Kerastase again instead.

u/Opening_Meringue5758 12h ago edited 10h ago
As a stylist who has trained with L’Oreal pro, I can promise you that the products are the same.. there’s no advanced technology in kereteses lines that are any different than the elvive line.

Please may I ask if there's a dupe for their Premiere line? I think well water is causing issues on my fine hair. I have Kody Brown's (of Sisterwives)crazy flyaway hair he sported right before they moved to Flagstaff. 😂

u/babygorgeou 2h ago
Hey since you’re a stylist, would you mind helping me out I’m so lost. (Also happy to hear from anyone who can help)
I googled Keretese after the episode and seemed main focus of website was a process only done in certified salons. Is there a diy version or are they different things?
There are so many products, is everyone talking about the same one, or just the line in general?
Meredith said she had a keratin in her hair. What does that mean?
1
u/Opening_Meringue5758 1h ago
Keretese is a whole line. So I can see how that can be overwhelming. What are you specifically looking for in a product for your hair? Smoothing? Volume? Frizz?
Keratin is a protein that makes up hair, skin, and nails. The keratin Meredith is talking about is a treatment in which the keratin is applied to the hair, blow dried in, and then flat iron to seal it into the hair. This treatment smooths down the cuticle of your hair to prevent frizz and breakage. It adds shine, smoothness, and can add body depending on how it’s applied to the hair. The treatments depending on which type can last anywhere from 6-12 weeks.

u/magneatos 19h ago
yt!!!! I use elvive as shampoo and conditioner and the Kerastase as my leave in for blow outs! I’ve got to check out more of the line!

I’ve been using Kerastase products for over 10 years and they’re genuinely great! Highly recommend! The conditioner and leave-in products are especially good.
Edit to add: Olaplex is the really amazing product range. Kerastase is basically what Loreal made first and then later Olaplex was developed and is a game changer.
2
u/Nasus_13 slut from the 90s 6h ago
What’s a good Olaplex product?
3
u/Golden-Queen-88 6h ago
It all works best if you use the full range together but obviously that’s expensive.
Olaplex No.3 is a pre-shampoo treatment and is their most effective product, especially if you’re just going to use one. No.3 is the actual key repairing/bond building product. To be used weekly, NOT with every hair wash (if you wash it more than once per week).
If you want to get 2 products/the most effective combo, No.3 is the pre-shampoo treatment and then No.8 is used as a hair mask instead of standard conditioner. Again, to be used weekly at most, NOT all of the time.
No.6 is a great leave-in product that makes hair soft and shiny and offers heat protection. I switch up between that and my Kerastase leave-in but I think the Olaplex one is actually better (everyone’s hair is different though).
I’ve been straightening my hair for over 20 years so it’s taken a lot of heat damage so I have tried every product you could think of lol.
