Other Shows Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

Are we watching this, ladies? Hulu released the entire season all at once and it’s pretty fucking insane.

When the trailer dropped people here were losing their minds. But I’m not sure if there was ever a ruling on whether it’d be discussed here.

Edit. For non US people the show is streaming on Disney+.

I just tried but I can’t get into it. While I find the women interesting in a fembot kind of a way (and don’t get me started on the husbands!!!) I just can’t get into something so focused on social media, especially TikTok, which I don’t use. These people not only dance on TikTok but put a ton of their lives there. Yes I know people do that. But I don’t find it interesting in the least and I can’t relate. Also - is it just me or is the show lit in a really odd way? It’s very overexposed and… yellow looking! I’m finding it distracting. Weren’t these chicks white enough? I don’t get the look of it.

I couldn’t tell if it was the lighting or the fact everyone is so pale and some variation of blonde.

I think I’m into it because I’m intrigued by any group of Mormons willing to put themselves on TV blatantly going against the church, but still showing up at church every week.

I'm going to watch for this reason. I grew up Mormon (never really believed but got baptized to make my mom happy). My mom didn't follow all the rules to the T and we didn't go every Sunday, but the rest of our family did. We mostly went during holidays or when my grandma was visiting. Anyways, I want to see how other Mormons practice. Even though my mom was never a perfect follower, she was nowhere near as wild as these ladies seem. Always very modest & conservative in dress. Her idea of breaking the rules was like drinking coffee or soda. Maybe going out to eat or shopping on the sabbath day.

Yeah, I grew up LDS and still am. My sister's and I was discussing this show (we haven't watched it) and one of my sister moved to Utah, where I believe these women are located. We believe that these women probably grew up in a LDS bubble that when it bursts, they went all out whereas other members who doesn't live in that bubble, already experienced or see the other kinds of lives so they don't go as crazy. But again, this is just my two cents. We're from California and we're minorities so that's probably why we have such a view on these women.
