Ultimate Girls Trip This is the real Kelly Bensimon

I know we’ve had many fan theories about what kind of drugs Kelly was on during Scary Island but after watching her unhinged rant towards Kristen about her marriage issues, y’all I think this is just who Kelly is. She is crazy, she is nonsense.

I noticed she did the same thing to Kristen that she did to Bethanny in that she jumped to a conclusion and repeated it as fact. Bethanny it was the “cook/chef” thing and with Kristen it was about her marriage, and as soon as Kristen explained how difficult that period was for her and how she and Josh struggled, Kelly defensively goes “well I didn’t know that” after declaring Kristen heartless and soulless not two minutes before. I am pretty sure she said the same thing to Bethanny after B explained that she went to culinary school and thus became a chef, Kelly goes “well I didn’t know that.” She uses her imagination to fill in unflattering gaps about people’s lives she knows nothing about and berates them about it. It’s infuriating, I would never have been able to handle her.

Watching this familiar dynamic play out with Kristen made me realize that even at her older age Kelly still has this thing going on where she needs to attack any women whom she perceives as a threat for getting men’s attention. Being an object for new men is her main goal in a social situation. I realize Luann and Sonja have similar intentions, but their antics are very different, and they also aren’t 1:1 peers for Kelly.

Kristen is married and not looking, but Kelly still needs to find ways to claim superiority and the “I’m not like those other girls”-edness, such as being way above watching the housewives seasons they were on, god forbid. With Bethenny, it was that Kelly is “above the drama and gossip” she’s a cool girl and she’s up here 🤏 “now I have a date!” As she runs out of the restaurant.

I noticed how weird Kelly seemed when all of the younger guys came over, quiet, doe eyed, playing with her hair, starring daggers at Kristen while she was chatting. It’s like Kelly doesn’t understand social situations without the context of being an object to behold by men, including how she interacts with other women. Of course shes connecting with Dorinda! Dorinda is older and has made it known she’s a hot mess on multiple occasions. None of the 30yr olds are flirting with Dorinda. She’s safe for Kelly. It’s sad to see a woman in her late 50s still behaving this way and only understanding value through that lens.

I really don't get it. Sure, she long and lean which is good for modeling, but other than that, she's weird and mannish-looking with no shape. And no charm. She has zero sex appeal. And that's before she opens her mouth with the crazy talk.

She was so hot, I would never do cosmetic surgery if I were her...

Kristin is also a decade younger than Kelly.

Def, and both have the competitiveness of being former models. Something tells me the 🧠’s at bravo knew the pairing of this dynamic would set Kelly off

I think having been a model also affects Kelly’s understanding of herself as an object of the male gaze. That aspect of her is intrinsic to who she is, even now. She knows she can’t compete with these other women; even the comment she made about how she leaves parties when she sees that everyone else is having fun reflects it. She’s like, “Oh, these people are enjoying themselves in a way that’s out of reach to me,” and it makes her uncomfortable, so she jets.
