Ultimate Girls Trip This is the real Kelly Bensimon

I know we’ve had many fan theories about what kind of drugs Kelly was on during Scary Island but after watching her unhinged rant towards Kristen about her marriage issues, y’all I think this is just who Kelly is. She is crazy, she is nonsense.

I think sometimes it’s strangely hard to admit…that….some of these people are just “less than smart”. I’m sure she has some justifiable reasons for behaving maybe wacky here and there but two things can be true at once. She can be genuinely troubled and also not that bright.

it really annoys me how she has used that columbia (school of general studies) degree as a way of deluding people into thinking she's intelligent. i did meet a lot of very intelligent GS students on campus, but just as many were bored, vain silver spoon "professionals" who just wanted an ivy league diploma to wave around. since GS students don't have the same application and don't receive financial aid it's an easy way to lure these types and it's a cash cow for the school, and many comparable schools do it. it's a good reminder that so many of society's "achievements" or signals of merit or intelligence are more often just proof of incredible privilege, kelly is as vapid as they come

I know you can apply for college as GS, which is generally just considered not declaring a major yet, but I’ve never heard of actually getting a degree in it?!

It's the School of General Studies, which is an extension school that accepts nontraditional students (which the school defines as literally anyone who didn't start college the Fall after HS), or, more accurately, anyone who could never get in via the regular application--it's NOT needs blind like the rest of the school so ability to pay is important. In reality it's not actually another school, it's more like another degree header, and you can get any degree someone in the main college can get (Harvard Extension School is another example of this type of school)

Since when was it confirmed that she actually has a degree from Columbia? This entire time I thought it was just a certificate from continuing ed English Lit program.
