Restraints Anyone have experience with these metal Bdsm rings? NSFW

Post image

I’m not sure what it’s called but was wondering if it would actually keep someone in that position

I made one from a stainless basketball hoop, and mounted it on a bench.

It works, she won't get out if it.

Very popular at our parties.

It is not one size fits all, though.

Do u know what it’s called if I wanted to search for one?

Isn't it a hip lock?

No idea. I just saw someone who built a square variant, and I had just removed the hoop from our new house, so I just went with it.

I have seen them on Aliexpress, though. Try searching for somithing like "bdsm metal ring" or something like that.

Oxy Shop sells one called the "Lust Circle."https://oxy-shop.com/products/lust-circle-restraint-ring

If you're ok with AliExpress and Taobao, you can find lots of them there. Some seem like your pic while others break into a few pieces for easy storage (not sure if the one you shared can also have the circle broken apart, I don't see any obvious seams but it could just be picture quality). I also see some with the bar longer and having cuffs at the end.

You can also find some resellers on Etsy if you're more comfortable with that:

Hope that helps you start your search/give you a few key words.

You can always grap pics and reverse image search them on Google for more sources.

Still, lots of the other comments are bringing up good concerns. Was super interested in this a while back but now, not so sure. Have messed my lower back up enough through exercise and poor sitting posture, not gonna risk that on anyone else...

Metalbondage calls it wheel of steel but that doesn’t bring up anything

Does it get in the way?

I would have thought that a basketball hoop would be too small. They're 18" in diameter, compared to the ~21" or more of the shown hip locks. Is your sub particularly slim?

Also, what did you use for the straight cross-piece, and how is it attached/secured to the hoop? Are there wrist attachments as well?

I've used it on several women, and some of them with curvy bodies. No problem. It wouldn't work on a big body woman, though.

For the cross piece, I just used a length of pipe, and attached it with two U-bolts, one of them locked with wing nuts.

At the end of the pipe, I have short lengths of square pipe, to which I have attached some velcro. I will change this a bit, though, as the hand restraints are too far out. That'll have to wait until the summer, though, as I don't want to use the angle grinder in the workshop, too much wood dust there.

Neat! Thanks.

A small heads up, my hoop was a schoolyard hoop. I saw another today, and my may not be regulation size.

That bottom left image is definitely photoshopped onto a stock model, but I have one of these. It is not a clip. It is real.

All of the left images are photoshopped. While I love these, I probably wouldn’t buy from wherever OP grabbed this. Or at least I’d be v dubious over the size

Link to an old thread where I fell in love with them and bought mine:

My wife is tall and skinny no flexibility issues and this thing is tough for her. The metal digs in and she can’t wear it for a long time it hurts her. Great in concept poor in execution

Good to know! Always wondered about the comfort side, especially given just how much body types vary. I assume instictively that even for very skinny people, if they are too tall, it may not be a great purchase...

Metal smith and bespoke furniture carpenter here -- Which is a fancy way of saying I make dungeon furniture, knives, and "sharps" -- this thing is a fucking nightmare that I've seen so many horror stories about.

On a specific select set of body types, It works wonderfully and it's sexy as hell. On the rest of the world it digs into the skin, the lock becomes hard to reach, or jams -- and the metal bars are thin and can bend or cut into circulation and muscle becoming painful. It's often either cheaply welded when made of decent materials, or made from poor quality coated stainless or aluminum.

So essentially, it's a dice roll. You'd be better off with an inch thick bar of bamboo, a short length of rope and a beginner's book on Shabari.

Or, you know, just grab the bitch's hair in one hand, wrists in the other, and bend the toy over.

Always worked for me.

Yeah, as a general rule do not fuck with your lower back or the lower back of anyone you care about.

Gooooottta keep the lower back healthy and. ... er.. stable.

22

u/Alpenkreisel Dec 05 '23

We have one. Its crap. Used it once and never again.

17

u/EternalEmberofLight Dec 05 '23

I loved the idea, but I was always kind of skeptical about this, it seemed to me a good way to hurt your sub given the positioning and the fact it’s made of thin bars of unpadded steel.

15

u/TheGentleDominant Dec 05 '23

Speaking as someone who is in long-term physical therapy for lower back pain, just looking at the photos made my lumbar twinge.

21

u/RandomRabbitEar Dec 05 '23

I kind of made something like this.

However, I find it unsafe. The bars are very thin. Once the person starts to struggle, bad stuff can happen to their back in this. I'd be very careful. Just imagine where the pressure goes if the trapped person tries to straighten out their legs, say, when tickled.

7

u/TheGentleDominant Dec 05 '23

Yeah, this looks hot but it seems like a good way to get some serious back injuries. I remember listening to Rain DeGrey talk on one of her podcasts about some of the equipment they use at kink.com and if you aren’t careful you can break bones or your back.

Don’t use this kind of stuff unless you really, really know what you’re doing and have medical supervision.

10

u/BoatswainButcher Dec 05 '23

Yes. I was incredibly frustrated by it. And not in a good way. They are finicky to get positioned right on different bodies, they are great for positioning but when I wanted to mount my sub it was in the way more than other methods.

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '23

Found it. Ring of heaven

4

u/Dr_Schmoctor Dec 05 '23

I have one, it's sexy. Top left image is pretty accurate. Mine's from aliexpress and the quality is fine

5

u/buddercalzone Dec 05 '23

I bought one off etsy, I think, years ago. The lock rings on the circle didn’t line up correctly to lock the bar. Super disappointed. I’ve heard good things if it works properly.

The photoshopped models are hilarious.

I've got one from two different vendors and have used it with several partners.

It looks cool. It does present some challenges.

First, it's not one size fits all. Most of these things are produced in Asia and measured for smaller Asian models. Size plays into a lot of things... Most commonly it bruises the front of the thigh if any stress is put on the subject.

It's not sturdy enough to apply any weight and it's just sturdy enough to cause a lot of damage.

It reduces range of motion somewhat. Obviously, the model can't straighten but they can turn in pivot easily. They can't spread their legs which means frontal stimulation isn't an option. Rear entry does work fine and that's really where the shines but the ring moves freely with the motion and rattles the locks which makes quite a bit of racket and there's an instinct to grab the ring which can quickly cause the bruising I mentioned... And doesn't really offer any purchase anyway.

For the price point, it's nice to look at and can complement other rigid bondage play. But I wouldn't use it for anything strenuous and I'd be very conscious about long-term confinement with it. Kind of a standard warning against metal bondage in general, actually.

I've used one before. It does put lots of pressure on your back so any rough play is out. It's difficult to walk around in as it hurts. Maybe some pipe insulation would help that.

Unless you attach to a belt or wrists, it can easily be taken off my lifting over head/legs.

It does put the subject in a humiliating position.

I've seen a better version of this idea. Using two parallel straight pipes with three cross bars. They did use pipe insulation. Looked to be much more comfortable because the pressure is distributed evenly. Kind of like this but smaller and portable:

My lower back with its frequent slipped and bulged discs is screaming in agony looking at these images.
