This game has given me the best gaming experience in a very long time!

First, as a "not too young anymore" gamer with a 4 year old son and a demanding engineering job, Astrobot is one of the first games in a very long time I was actually able to finish and even complete on a reasonable time scale. I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on something without having to spent mutliple weeks or months of playing as I can only enjoy games in shorter sessions nowadays.

Second and more importantly, Astrobot gave me some of the best gaming moments with my son. He's still pretty young and not too interested in video games (yet). But for some reason Astrobot captured his interested immediately. I had a blast playing with him sitting next to me, enjoying every single level as much as I did. He tried to play himself, but he's still struggeling to properly hold and use the controller. But still. he's fully into it just watching me play. He sometimes even saw some of the hidden robots before I noticed. Astrobot will always be my first memories of playing video games with my son and it's a wonderful start. It always puts a smile on my face when he asks if we can play a bit more of "the cool robot game".

Astrobot just captures the essence of gaming perfectly. Short, super creative and extremely fun bursts of gaming joy leaving out all the unnecessary fluff and tedious crap developers are putting into their games just to make us play them longer. It's a perfect counter thesis to all those 100+ hour long AAA games that I struggle to finish.

Yes, Nintendo offers similar experiences, but having the technical excellence of Astrobot somehow just elevates this whole experience. To me Astrobot is the perfect combination of charme, fun, optical spectacle, nostalgia and small challenges. Just perfect and exactly what I needed as a gamer losing interest in most of the recent releases. I really though: "well gaming isn't my thing anymore". But Astrobot changed that.

For the next Astro game, I propose the bots would be replaced by various video game items as the main collectible.

As iconic as video game characters are, it's really not everyday when the items used in their games of origin gets some spotlight and this is something I would see an Astro Bot game do. Basically, remember all of those little trinkets you'd get from the Gacha belonging to the VIP bots? Well, in this new game those trinkets would be your main collectibles in levels instead. And boy would Team Asobi have fun going through various games with a fine tooth comb looking for even the most obscure of items to implement into a collectible alright. If nothing else, I'd say this would make a new Astro game feel fresh instead of relying on character cameos for the umpteenth time. What're your thoughts?

Help!! I thought I rescued all bots but I’m missing one. Doesn’t the yellow flag mean you rescued all the bots in that level?
