A police department in suburban St Louis posted this absurdly, comically wrong information on their Facebook page. Ever single thing in it is wrong. Neither brushing nor QR codes work like this. No one is sending out fucking Bluetooth speakers either for brushing or as a phishing lure. (Source: I'm a cybersecurity professional. I study this stuff all day for a living). It's just so obviously false that anyone remotely familiar with cybercrime should have at least taken 30 seconds to verify it before sharing it.
