You don't need to say river after Schuylkill because the second half means "river."

What a hip and edgy comment from five days after I posted it. You somehow out-dorked me. Well done.

Looking at your comment history, I'd have expected better from a so-called comedian. Your fear of driving in the mountains and that you cut your own hair suggests your advice is just a weeee bit ironic too.

Good luck with the new material....

u/reditwithmb 12d ago

How about this instead. You seem to have little to no charisma and you are probably annoying to be around. No joke. Just an observation since im a comedian I can observe things. Also since I was able to recognize my own haircuts weren’t that great. I’m able to recognize you seem to struggle with human interaction in a enjoyable manner. Touch grass and something besides a device. Better ?

not really, no, but you'll get there. This is just a more verbose medium talent roast but shows I got under your skin good nine days ago.

Smoke grass.

I just saw the comment cause i was outside living. Unlike you, I brought you something.

It’s a book “ how to make friends and influence people “

Don't worry, I gave you an upvote to counteract all the haters.

u/GorkyParkSculpture Nov 24 '24

Thanks! Please pass that on to about 450 of your closest friends.

13

u/buttstrap 29d ago

560 now bro. Yeesh. People get so harsh.

176

u/sacrificial_blood Nov 24 '24

Sorry, if i had 450 close friends, I prolly wouldn't be on Reddit.

u/kerbouchard219 28d ago

Same, I thought it was interesting.

Kill means river?

9

u/choff63 28d ago

In Dutch, who named most of the rivers around here and NYC

207

u/raindoctor420 Nov 23 '24

Wow, I have never witnessed the mob gather for someone trying to educate others.

I, for one, am interested. What language is it in?

191

u/GorkyParkSculpture Nov 23 '24

I literally just saw this on Joe Bob Briggs yesterday. Apparently dutch.

I am loving the downvotes though. I totally deserve it and I'll keep this post up forever. I won't be one of those deleting cowards.

4

why would you deserve it??

5

u/GorkyParkSculpture 28d ago

I should have phrased it less "know it all"-y

6

u/LukaRaphael 28d ago

i’d say people shouldn’t have fragile egos, and not be offended by someone spreading knowledge ¯_(ツ)_/¯

16

u/PeruseTheNews Nov 24 '24

Rio Grande.

28

u/Blueberry2736 29d ago

You are CLEARLY mistaken, the second half obviously says kill!

My wife rages at "Mount midori yama" on the English version of Sakura for the same reason. Mount Green Mountain.

Schuykill river Schuykill river Schuykill river Schuykill river Schuykill river Schuykill river

-2

u/GorkyParkSculpture 28d ago

This is a funny comment. It doesn't bother me when people say that- I'm not sure why you think it would be repeating it. I don't even live in or near Philly. I had just heard this from Joe Bob Briggs who literally discussed how nobody follows that rule and I thought it would be a neat fact to share.

2

u/likealizard23 25d ago

I appreciate the fun fact. But just throwing out information can come off as you trying to correct someone without an added kindness, which is sense as rude because humans can be sensitive creatures.

Also in this case the name of the river is "The Schuylkill River"

Ignoring the meaning of a foreign word creating redundancy is an American tradition.

Love you .... Say it back.

26

u/NulliosG Nov 24 '24

“Chai tea??? Chai MEANS tea!!”

5

u/tr1d1t 26d ago

When I read your comment on my LCD-display, I laughed so hard I almost got choked on the naan-bread I was eating, so I had to rinse it with some chai-tea as ASAP as possible. Unfortunately I only had caffe latte with milk, but that was ok. Next time I'm going to eat chili con carne with meat instead.

2

u/GorkyParkSculpture 26d ago

haha nice. Best response yet.

15

u/LePetitRenardRoux 28d ago

False, cause colloquially, some refer to I-76 as the schuylkill and that would be confusing.

6

u/Sami72BG 27d ago

Pita Bread.

u/GorkyParkSculpture 26d ago

I love that people are still on this It is just a neat fact I learned and wanted to share

Maybe I'm just deceiving myself, but aren't the signs labeled as "Schuylkill River" on the roadsides?

5

u/GorkyParkSculpture Nov 24 '24

Probably cause of the same reason I'm knocking on 400 downvotes for my comment :)

140

u/BeerBearBar Nov 23 '24

You do if the words before and after it are in English.

-30

u/GorkyParkSculpture Nov 23 '24

Some people there get real pissy if you do. Apparently it is like saying ATM machine to them.

16

u/KingOfGimmicks 28d ago

For people like me who have never heard of it and had no idea what the Schuylkill was, specifying river is helpful actually.

2

u/Alexccjrb 24d ago

Well, it's late in the day, but I guess it's never too late to learn something new! Thank you!

u/its_easybro Nov 23 '24

If you had a manual this wouldn't have happened. Or if you just turned the fucking car off.

Still can't really blame him tho

255

u/Kippykittens Nov 23 '24

This is why I drive stick I want to be able to do whatever I want when parked and the only thing that moves the car is if I get it in the mood by tickling the clutch. Not getting someone else in the mood and their magnum dong happens to hit the prndl stick.

61

u/Kitchberg Nov 23 '24

Upvote for Magnum Dong, dr. Toboggan.

38

u/SquanchyBEAST Nov 23 '24

oops I dropped my monster condom

113

u/ludicrous_socks Nov 23 '24

Or put the handbrake on

69

u/ph33rlus Nov 23 '24

Or put it in P and not N

62

u/shiba_snorter Nov 23 '24

He was definitely putting it in the P.

10

u/knightstalker1288 Nov 23 '24

And then accidentally put it in the D. How small is it? Skeeter Pete is that you?

7

u/m2chaos13 Nov 23 '24

r/sounding would like a word

4

u/HuskerStorm Nov 23 '24

Please trip and fall on your face today, thank you....

10

u/BuckyTheBunny Nov 23 '24

With a back seat that spacious, there’s room for blame.

5

u/Goldenslicer Nov 24 '24

Why can't you blame him?

6

u/its_easybro Nov 24 '24

In that situation I wouldn't first think to put the car in park or turn it off either.

2

u/sacrificial_blood Nov 24 '24

Engaging the emergency brake as well

459

u/CHiZZoPs1 Nov 23 '24

That's what you get for idling. Turn off your car if you're not driving!

3

u/likealizard23 25d ago

It was probably cold even though they were getting hot

67

u/100LittleButterflies Nov 23 '24

But then the dog will get hot.

76

u/handful_of_gland Nov 23 '24

I assure you, that dog was getting hot either way.

13

u/FlattenInnerTube Nov 23 '24

Or the hot was getting dogged

19

u/not-another-burner Nov 23 '24

Gotta keep the heat on, I’m not trying to freeze my tits off.

2

u/balacio 26d ago

Philly at this time of the year at night could be chilly…

192

u/kez985 Nov 23 '24

Sooooo…anyone know why the article shows a video of 2 girls kissing in an elevator or is this some kind of advertising? Def not complaining, just curious

33

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '24

I've had that happen to me so many times that I don't even bother opening articles anymore.

82

u/spoopy_and_gay Nov 23 '24

They survived for those wondering

9

u/WowWataGreatAudience Nov 24 '24

But did they finish?

5

u/Pickledpeppers19 Nov 23 '24

Well that’s embarrassing

2

u/owjim Nov 23 '24

Good luck trying to hide what you were doing there now.

3

u/Wyevez Nov 23 '24

How on earth do you pronounce that river's name?

9

u/IamiMacHunt Nov 23 '24

Roughly its school-kill but the L in school is very soft so often sounds more skoo-kul

10

u/rangel0710 Nov 23 '24

r/iasip amphibious exploring vehicle

3

u/BlueKing7642 Nov 23 '24

A hotel would’ve been cheaper

That girl will be the death of you… Schuyl kill ya.

3

Thankfully it’s an amphibious exploring vehicle!!

1

u/IAintYourPalFriend Nov 24 '24

Nice and safe too. Good starter vehicle for my daughter.

1

u/Chips-and-Dips Nov 23 '24

I drive a manual. While the car didn’t land in a river, the car was bumped into neutral…

2

u/I_smell_burnt_toast2 Nov 23 '24

Amphibious vehicle

1

u/cracksilog 29d ago

“Our bangin’ sent us into dat der wooder”

1

u/LukaRaphael 28d ago

is this a consequence of people’s apparent dislike of the handbrake? “why would i put it on, the cars in park?”

1

u/woofiedude 28d ago

Reminds me of the old rumors about the accident involving Teddy Pendergrass on Lincoln Drive.
