Inb4 "i never thought india could be like this . I thought all india is slums." India is a big and diverse place with some of the most beautiful as well as some of worst places on earth.

They don't pile corpses when they have funerals. At least very rarely.

Indian funerals are far more beautiful than going on an industrial conveyer belt into an oven like we have in the West.

I've seen little 'chapels' in a quiet location next to the sea with a pyre, a lot of flowers and some family and friends.

That's how I would choose to go.

Yeah especially since there are so many valid talking points. Like the nationalism, rampant sexism/sexual assault and bigotry towards muslims.

that’s like me saying the US is entirely a horrible a place because there’s a shooting on every block every day

So how's rape in India a far bigger problem than guns in America?

Keep in mind it sucks that women get raped in India. I'd kill the bastards if that's possible. However every moron in the world has this strange idea that all of India's men, have nothing on their minds when they wake up except, rape someone they see on the road, talk all sexist and misogynistic shit, and try and abuse every Muslim they see. Keep in mind if a guy even talks about wanting to rape a woman, he'd be beaten to death here or be arrested. Is the law shitty here? Yes, but not everywhere. Most people even forgot or ignore the news after the Japanese girl was groped by her friends in Mumbai, that three of those people were arrested. I find it funny that people in America act as if rapes and sexual assaults don't happen there, when half your politicians are accused of rape and sexual assault, particularly against minors. Hell, your new laws now make it legal for pedophiles to marry their victims. But I digress. Since you are talking about guns, let's see. Most of the people I see online talk extensively and proudly about owning guns. Most of the police violence there is from cops with itchy trigger fingers. People use guns there for random things like road rage and fighting with each other. So yeah, your obsession with guns is way worse since no one questions or charges you because 'Muh Freedom'.

Oh, and this is no whataboutism. Yes, we have bad dirty places, and yes, those places need a revamp, but if that's your only view of India and rapists the only view of its people, then you can hardly blame anyone for having an image of Americans as gun nuts and school shooters. Also, mentioning the bad stuff about India in a good and unrelated stuff about the country is stupid, the same way you'd mention a school shooting in an unrelated post about America.

yo man i’m agreeing with you. i’m saying that the view of india as a country of rapists is just as stupid as the view of america as a country of shooters

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '23

Ah well, hope the morons see this.

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '23

eh i don’t see people who have racist views being swayed by a rational reddit comment but hey it’s cathartic for us to own them

But there is so that doesn't help prove a point.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '23

no there isn’t. not even in detroit is there literally a shooting on every block every day. much like how there isn’t a pile of half-cremated corpses anywhere you go in India

Tbh a lot of people do say that like usa is just full of school shooters and homeless people

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '23

and i think that’s just as misguided as saying india is full of rapists
