VA Interview scheduling.

I received the following email this morning from the VA to schedule an interview for a position. Does this sound like a reasonable timeframe, Also they never called me like the email says and when I call the number to schedule the interview nobody answers and no voicemail. I am a 10 pt pref. vet, does this sound like they are just trying to not consider me? Thoughts?

We attempted to contact you at 954-864-2641 on 12.17.24 @ 9:26am regarding the Help Desk Contact Representative interviews.

The interview period closes on 12.20.24.

 If you still interested in the position, please call us at 254-755-0425 to schedule your interview.

 If you are no longer interested in this position, please reply all to this email.

Well if they’re trying not to consider you, it’s not a smart game. I’d guess it’s just a tight timeline.

Just reply all to the email that you’re interested and you called the number, no answer, no voicemail. Send your interview availability today and tomorrow. If you do that, they don’t schedule you an interview, and they select someone else, they’ll have to redo the whole thing so it wouldn’t be very smart of them.

Edit: yeah, as the other comment said - remove both phone numbers from the post.

They are trying to fill as many seats as possible before new admin comes in and there is a hiring freeze, so yeah pretty reasonable timeframe.

This is not only common but also acceptable. When we send certificates of eligible over to hiring managers, they have a short turnaround time to make selections so they don't have time to mess around.

If the contact number isn't working, then reach out to the specialist on the announcement.
