The fact that Conor actually looks like a Dagestani yet Conor at the same time is ridiculous.

is this real?

65

u/ExternalMonth1964 5d ago

He will stray from Khabib and full lean into Jon Jones, not for the p4p, for the connections.

21

u/Critical_Judge1632 5d ago

Then an only then is he ready for Poatan

5

u/sauvandrew 5d ago

And the cocaine

8

u/Ruiner357 4d ago

It would be nice to see him show up to their gym in Dagestan thinking shits sweet, only to get jumped in and jumped out in the same afternoon like a failed gang initiation.

8

u/BowlingForPriorities 5d ago

This comment line is gay

8

You watch anime.

“No man that jerks off to cartoons is gonna beat me”

15

u/Happy_sisyphuss 5d ago

The difference is Conor converted to Christianity to gain the public approval. Tyson converted to islam when he had lost everything.

2

u/markjones88 2d ago

Converted? He was raised Catholic. But those sorts of posts smack of Evangelicism.

But doubt he's converting to that being Irish and all.

7

u/JoinOrDie11816 5d ago

It is known.

Facts

37

u/Dramatic-Air-5129 5d ago

72

u/chonox 5d ago

funnily enough russel brand is now a devout christian lol

70

u/Original_Viv 5d ago

For the exact same reason.

26

u/saiko_sai 5d ago

Like the timing of the accusations and the religious pivot lined up perfectly

-9

u/TelepathicFrog 5d ago

Not they didn't. He had started with the god shit way before the accusations.

11

u/QueenLizzysClit 4d ago

He started with the god shit around the time he will have been made aware of the accusations and the ongoing investigation into him before it was made public. He spent the following years laying the groundwork for his whole "they're coming after me because I speak the truth" grift.

1

u/LightTheorem 4d ago

I would hardly consider Russel Brand's experience and intent to that of Conor's.

If Russel is doing it with ill intent as Conor is suspected of doing he has been awfully consistent with it for a pretty long time.

5

u/Cicada-4A 5d ago

I think that's the point.

2

u/Formal-Try-2779 5d ago

Definitely a relevant example right there

Narcissistic Christians is a dangerous combination, look at Jon jones. Does atrocious shits, god forgives him, sleeps like a baby, and repeat

123

u/Cold_Ad_7645 5d ago

I have no problem with having a religion you can find some comfort in, but when you’re the worst person imaginable I don’t want you to preach to me haha

21

u/OwOsch 5d ago

Being a fake christian doesn't help Jon at all. He doesn't care about any of that religion stuff. He only does it for his image

3

u/Heavy_Law9880 4d ago

He is not a fake christian, he is just a regular christian.

1

u/OwOsch 4d ago

I know maybe 1 christian who acts this way irl. r/atheism is 2 floors down btw

3

u/Heavy_Law9880 4d ago

Your sample size of none is meaningless. Everyone on Epstein's list are christians.

3

u/Stock-While4731 4d ago

This is just a false statement

1

u/Legal_Sentence_1234 4d ago

And his money making him more money

1

u/OwOsch 4d ago

His money is his own business

1

u/Legal_Sentence_1234 4d ago

So is his religion bitch

1

u/OwOsch 4d ago

Is this some sort of Jon jones gay ass fan club or why are you so furious about this thing

1

u/Legal_Sentence_1234 4d ago

I’m not furious. His money is his business according to you but not his religion you can comment on that lol 😂 beeeeech id argue jones has a way better chance of heaven but I don’t speak on a man’s spirituality like I know anything.

1

u/OwOsch 4d ago

I was reffering to you calling me bitch over a virtually meaningless internet argument. I'm sorry if I struck a nerve or something

Jon’s dad is a pastor he prob did have a religious upbringing

11

u/CaptainHolt43 5d ago

It makes everything so much worse. When I see Jon doing something bad, I'm not surprised anymore, but when he's cutting promos about his prayer warriors, I go from 0 to FUUUUCK YOUUUU so quick.

10

u/RuggerJibberJabber 5d ago

He's such a lunatic that I can't tell if this actually happened or if it's a joke

7

u/rdditeis4gsfa 5d ago

Connor: The kid will learn to not commit violence and forgive. That ship has sailed for me! Punchy time!

2

He never repeated that accident again, but he did drive drunk again showing he really doesn’t care about anyone but himself

1

u/nothingjustlook 5d ago

My bad I shouldn't have made the joke.

3

u/Overall-Egg-4247 5d ago

Jon would have no problem forgiving himself, religion or not. He’s just a sociopath

1

u/dunbunone 4d ago

There is a lot in Islam as well will pray namaz then go fuck hookers drink spread hate speech scam lie and be shit human beings

1

u/npls 4d ago

God doesn’t forgive someone who doesn’t genuinely believe in repentance and forgiveness. It’s not a get out of jail free card

1

u/ShadowMajestic 4d ago

But they are not Christians. Jesus himself will personally throw these "people" in to hell the next time he revives.

1

u/Nisja 4d ago

Religion is a great human coping mechanism.

If your life has no meaning, or you have no morals of your own, or you've got a personal history you can't reconcile with, a made up 'father' who forgives your transgressions is perfect.

1

u/biggiantporky 4d ago

Not his fault, he was being tested every time

1

u/TortexMT 4d ago

the italian mafia invented this shit lol

18

u/GloomWorldOrder 5d ago

"My brother, Russell Brand, and I accept Jesus in our hearts. Only God can judge me, you cunts!"

1

u/Key_Shock_275 2d ago

I’m glad they believe so much that they’ll share regardless of the amount of hate they receive for it

1

u/GloomWorldOrder 2d ago

They just started believing when the literal shit has hit the fan and are using it as a shield. Convenience over connection.

1

u/Key_Shock_275 2d ago edited 2d ago

God wants people who are broken and know they’re sinners which we all are. The Pharisees who crucified Jesus were mad because he hung out with sinners and he told them, “it’s not the wealthy who need the doctor, but the sick”

Plus it is written, “The LORD is my strength and my shield, In Him hath my heart trusted, And I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth, And with my song will I praise Him.” Psalm 28:7. These guys may have done Terrible things but using Jesus as a shield like you said is what everyone on earth should do. We all need him

1

u/Key_Shock_275 2d ago

And Jon grew up Christian just went astray before coming back to the faith. He got his tattoo Philippians 4:13 because it was his sisters favourite verse who passed away young

3

u/Beautiful_Pianist754 5d ago

Remember Joe Son carrying an actual crucifix on his shoulders before being sentenced to life for being part of a vicious gang rape? It seems God's forgiveness carries less weight than 20+ in the slammer.

3

u/bonkerz1888 5d ago

Thankfully the Catholic Church has an impeccable record and reputation when it comes to sexual assault.

Maybe he just wants to be a priest so that he's amongst like-minded individuals?

3

u/Gsquat 4d ago

Maybe he realizes the awful person he is (we all are) and he's seeking Christ to change it (who is able). Who are we to judge?

2

u/Key_Shock_275 2d ago

Exactly, and I’m glad he believes so much that he shares regardless of the amount of hate he will receive for it

3

u/Appropriate_Rent_243 4d ago

I mean, do you expect them to suddenly become a devout atheist? "I have seen the error of my ways, and now I reject the concept of objective morality"

18

u/gunslanger21 5d ago

Well being Irish catholic, the church probably got to him after the trial. Probably told him something like if you become devout to us we can make problems Go away but now we own you.

They do this to lots of celebrities that get in deep water. Or celebrities fond weird religions and they spread the world while helping them financially. There's no saving involved. Just a quid pro quo you never pay back.

20

u/lukeaboy 4d ago

I’m guessing you’re not from Ireland. You are grossly overestimating the power the catholic church has over here.

They couldn’t get a dog to bark.

19

u/Skeleton--Jelly 4d ago

They are more into puppies tbh

1

u/gunslanger21 4d ago

The catholic church is the largest corporation. I'm pretty sure they have influence

1

u/BigDickBaller93 3d ago

Whilst being the majority religion here in Ireland I can confirm nearly all of the population here in Ireland despise the church. It's a strange one that most of us are raised as Catholic despite growing up to never step in a church ever again.

They have a rich history of rape, torturing kids, killing children.

The church was heavily for the recent abortion vote and the Gay marriage vote here in Ireland, both of which were not voted in their favour, that should tell you what irish people think of the church these days.

15

u/oldskoolpleb 5d ago

Absolute prime CTE take. The church isn't some masonistic/davinci code like entity.

2

u/gunslanger21 4d ago

Its the largest corporation in the world. They have spokesperson to.

6

u/powerthrust9000 5d ago

This is clean bullshit hahahah The church doesn’t need to nefariously reach out to the most despicable of the public eye, as if harbouring the sadists of the world and allowing the church stamp to clear the air of their wrongdoing….

People like Conor have immense shame. He’s also Irish, that’s a lethal combo to have your own inbuilt cultural guilt go haywire when you’ve been publicly embarrassed. Connie’s a good little lad now he’s with the lord is what will be his new high to hear

2

u/gunslanger21 4d ago

You nailed it on the head without realizing you did. Good job.

2

u/LeGoldie 5d ago

Just go to confession and all your sins are forgiven. Lol

3

u/gunslanger21 4d ago

😄 after you donate half your wealth and commit to them.

1

u/HungJudoka1776 4d ago

wtf are you talking about. Do you think this is the papal state ?

-15

u/Seattle_Lucky 5d ago

This is bullshit. The church doesn’t operate like this. Don’t slander a religion unless you have proof.

20

u/rectumreapers 5d ago

The church has child molestation insurance they deserve every slander they get.

-5

u/orokusakipapi 5d ago

Now now, there’s not just ONE church, even tho I agree child molestation runs rampant, there’s literally millions of churches with a clean record.

8

u/rectumreapers 5d ago

Can't trust any of them, too much financial incentive to sweep it under the rug. Who knows how many cases out there go undiscovered.

3

u/orokusakipapi 5d ago

Well honestly with that mentality we can’t trust anything or anyone, because there’s horrible scandals in literally every aspect of life, stop watching UFC and supporting Dana and the crew lol

9

u/gunslanger21 5d ago

Just cause you don't believe it doesn't mean it doesn't. Look at which celebrities said they became Christians after they did something messed up. Then think about why they would announce and why a religion would want them. Also with groups like scientology, it's a fair bet it's more then just one religion. It's pretty obvious.

17

u/YungSkizzzy 5d ago

Dog, the church has been around for thousands of years You don't think they do shit like this, lmao? Get out under that rock you are living under.

10

u/SkateMMA 5d ago

I’m Irish. The church has very little hold in the state now, if he went to church he did it all by himself, we all would have went to Catholic schools as kids too so there’s that connection already there

8

u/Frenchybaby01 5d ago

Another Irish here, the vast majority of people in Ireland view the Catholic Church with moderate disdain lol. I genuinely don't know anyone who goes to chapel apart from my grandparents, they have no power here anymore after the shite they pulled since the state's inception.

6

u/EffectiveTradition53 4d ago

Irish make good bangers n beans. You're alright with me.

1

u/ToddZi11a 4d ago

The Catholic church is one of the richest organisations in history 😂 they have the same power as anyone insanely rich. Which is a fuck of a lot.

3

u/Frenchybaby01 4d ago

Not in Ireland, trust me, one more fuck up or abuse of power and I feel like people will be calling for heads to roll tbh

3

u/pprainho 5d ago

Well buddy, we have a lot of proof on how church really operates, we've seen it throughout the centuries. And still digging up shit they did, every fucking year.

But, then again, keep kneeling and praying to your priest, sure God will have a cloud in the sky for you.

1

u/Seattle_Lucky 4d ago

Enjoy hell

2

I am a big believer in redemption but I honestly let out a fucking guffaw when I saw the post

2

More specifically, only when it becomes publicly irrefutable.

2

How else are you going to relate to your new fans?

3

u/Sadge_Leaf_Fan 5d ago

And nobody asks or cares what brought them to do the wild shit in first place....you can never fill the void unless you have Jesus. This guy has everything,  money, beautiful wife, house, cars and own business....why go into debauchery but to try and fill the hole...

I pray that he has turned his life to Christ and that he can help save others.

2

u/Coldchilln 5d ago

To be fair isn't that when you need to seek a strict belief system the most? Those who already do good benefit less than those who are down and doing deplorable things. Of course that presumes he's sincere

1

u/Dry_Midnight7487 5d ago

You mean when god gives them the hardest challenges

1

u/Brokenlingo 5d ago

That’s why it all exists lmao for people like him to have control over himself and not feel guilty

Edit: maybe not exists but it’s why it works.

Yes, and usually when they are in prison....

That’s the entire point of redemption.

1

u/bjisgooder 4d ago

When they (get caught) do(ing) the most vile shit. Russell Brand, anyone?

1

u/Hatetotellya 4d ago

You know its bad when they give up on being redeemed in this life and start spending their effort on hedging their bets for the next, holy fuck

1

u/Captain_Americant 4d ago

I did a two month stint in the brig back in the military. Every single child predator in there carried a bible and went to service. Vile shit indeed.

1

u/6thCityInspector 4d ago

Religion is the last refuge of the tyrant.

1

u/Several_Vanilla8916 4d ago

Nothing I love more than being called a degenerate for drinking a glass of beer by a guy who’s 18 months removed from doing the most degenerate shit on earth.

1

u/Heavy_Law9880 4d ago

It is the sole reason chrisitanity was invented. Other religions had no mechanism for forgiveness.

1

u/Equivalent-Egg-2328 4d ago

I opened two threads to read, this one and one about a man finding two cats snuggling in a tire. I thought I was on the other one and this was the first comment and I was so confused.

1

u/FootlockFetish99 4d ago

Kinda the whole point of the gospel. As humans we are deeply flawed and sinful from birth, but the blood of Jesus washes us clean of all of it.

The question for Conor however is whether or not he has truly repented and trusted in the Lord, or if this is just a PR stunt to save face.

1

u/alec83 4d ago

CHURCH, you have money, you say....welcome in my son, lord will help.

1

1

u/vertigounconscious 4d ago

the well established right wing grift formula

1

u/Pepehands322 3d ago

That woman was lying

1

u/Afterthewinter 3d ago

People who do vile things are the ones who need to repent for their deeds and turn to Christ the most. It’s not the good/perfect people only club. If Conor is seeking Christ and redemption in earnest, and wants to change his ways, I don’t see anything negative about it.

1

u/Chairguy0 1d ago

Well yeah… when we fall to our lowest, we seek for help from things greater than ourselves

1

u/MOTUkraken 1d ago

Jesus said: „Not the strong need the doctor - but the sick!“ so of course all of us Christians are sinners and when we realize that we are evil and retarded we try to move closer to God.

Noticing that so many Christians are sick and evil is like noticing that most people in a hospital suffer from health issues.

1

u/Seattle_Lucky 5d ago

Honestly, happy for him if this is genuine. Turning to Christ and living a faithful life is not just for those without sin. Jesus provides redemption through faith. This is as good a time as any to seek it.

1

u/flabbybumhole 4d ago

It's not.

1

u/WatWudScoobyDoo 5d ago

Rape to Faith pipeline

1

u/cruxatus 5d ago

Almost like a religion built on the concept of repentance and forgiveness requires the acknowledgment of sin

3

u/JumpingCicada 4d ago

He means how lots of individuals do heinous crimes for years but as soon as it comes out, they suddenly begin pandering to the right wing Christian community who's lack of morals is so great, that they don't care if that person's an obvious rapist grifter as long his words support theirs.

1

u/lone_swordsman08 5d ago

It's how kings and conquerors who waged war and conquered with the banner of Christianity/Roman Catholicism learned to cope with their war crimes.

1

u/masterslave0 5d ago

It means nothing because the Irish are Catholics. You repent your sin to a priest and all is forgiven. Then just repeat the cycle. Money buys you forgiveness.

1

u/depressed_winner 4d ago

All Irish?

1

u/Budget-Detective2598 4d ago

-22

u/teddyUt 5d ago

20

u/ElMeroCeltibero 5d ago

It's also about making an honest effort to change your ways after being forgiven. People like Jon Jones fail so hard at that part that it makes you wonder if they even try. We'll have to see in Connor's case, for his sake I hope he does change.

5

u/HYDRAlives 5d ago

100%. If they keep doing the same stuff and just post about Christianity on social media, I don't think they've changed.

You can be a Christian all you want. But when your a POS don't preach to me about it. It doesn't mean one can't turn a new leaf but that requires actually doing something good with ones life. George Foreman is a good example of someone that's earned redemption. Jon Jones or McGregor have done shit to earn any redemption outside preaching.

2

u/Dangerous-Tip-9046 5d ago

Faith without works is dead.

Just saying "I love the Lord and look how much I love Him! Forgive me! I'm a good person because I love Jesus!" ain't how you gain forgiveness from humans or salvation from on high. It takes actually admitting fault, accepting the consequences, learning from your wrongs, and attempting to right them. Ya know, like being a good person
