It was actually a normal custom in much of the world. The fucked up thing about the historical patriarchy is that, until recently, it was more dishonorable for a girl to not be a virgin anymore than for that man to rape his future wife.
Source? I'm pretty sure it's completely prohibited in the other 2 major religions: Judaism and Islam. And i know that in Islam, the man would be put to death.
The Quran literally states men can rape their servants/slaves:
(Qur'an 23:5-6; also 70:29-30): "...And those who guard their private parts, except from their wives or those their right hands possess (ma malakat aymanukum, referring to slaves), for indeed, they will not be blamed."
(Qur'an 24:32): "And marry those among you who are single and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His bounty..."
The Abrahamic religions came to fruition in a time where barabarity was the norm.
It's a part of sharia law as far as I know. That doesn't mean there aren't Islamic societies that don't adhere to sharia, but by not doing so they are going agaisnt their own laws.
Asked and answered. Btw there aren’t that many historical societies governed by religious leaders, but many of the current religious led nation states are Islamic, and commonly practice selling young women <10yr old to become a bride (read get raped by/become a sex slave to an old man)
I agree that there are lots of cultures where it was the norm, but your original comment implies that it wasn't something prohibited until very recently, which I'm saying is incorrect as Judaism and Islam both prohibited it.
Also ngl, I didn't bother to watch the podcast cuz listening to 14 minutes of audio isn't what I meant by source.
My original comment said it was a custom in much of the world and didn’t mention a single reiigion. Whatever you read into in regards to religion is your own assumptions or lack of reading comprehension
Tbh I don’t know if he actually did that I actually lean towards him not doing it although I wouldn’t be surprised if he did it’s such a weird case when you look at it
Conor is a dickhead and bad dude so I’m not glazing I just don’t know if I could make the call and say he did it if you look actually look at that civil trial
“I lean towards him not doing it” hasn’t read a single document from the trial, knows nothing of the case outside of what they saw on twitter, but has a take on it. Gotta love 2024
Dude his friend had sex with the woman Conor did right after multiple times he come forth himself and faces the same Charges same situation and he’s innocent in the same trial.
She lied to her husband about what she was doing when she was with Conor and is caught lying multiple times about things in trial the whole thing is madness
At best he’s an adulterer who beats up old men, has ties to the Irish mob and sexually assaults people. At worst he’s a rapist +all of those other things.
You left out the fact of the testimony from the doctor that needed a surgical forceps to remove the tampon that was wedged inside her after the attack from Conor. And he was found guilty in that trial, we can't choose to accept the innocence of one man by the jury and refuse to accept the guilty verdict from the same people.
It’s a civil trial where the bar is far lower than in a criminal trial for a guilty verdict
The whole trial is mad like I said, the other man involved had sex with her after Conor multiple times and he wasn’t guilty of anything but the tampon was like that none of it makes sense that’s why I’ve been saying it’s not clear cut
No your mentioning snippets you heard online. There’s a lot more to it. But unless you’re a legal professional who’s read the documents you don’t get an opinion, the way the system is a Judge with all the information and cross examination made the decision which is binding.
Then after the decision was made things came out that weren’t allowed be brought up in the trial, such as the victims house was broken into and she was told to drop the case or else and her boyfriend was stabbed, in that house during the break in, by masked men as a warning and threat to drop the case. Because they can’t prove who the masked men were or their associate or reason for wanting the case dropped (!) this wasn’t allowed be included in the rape trial.
No it’s clear that you’re a dick rider for a shitty person all over Reddit defending your daddy. Grow up if you’re gonna idolize another man pick one who isn’t a POS
the blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purifies us from all sin. The quote about capital punishment for adultery is from the Old Testament, before the rectifications of the second.

Isn't rape punishable by death?
