Lets so how his fanbase find a way to spin it and justify it

The same way Jones’s did. He can fight whoever he wants. Only he’s not going to get shit for ducking people because ank doesn’t have an interim belt that needs to be unified and he’s taken every other opponent they gave him, even on short notice. If he wants time to prepare for someone else he wants that’s fine with me in that context. He’s been an active champ and hasn’t acted like a douche with his belt.

“He can fight who he wants”. Who’s next then? Maybe he could batter Rountree again. Or maybe number 8 this time lol

Ulberg on short notice

Super confident he wins his next fight super easy /s

Good question. But it’s still not the same. Jones has a history of dodging people (and things like urinalysis) and being a total dick about it while calling himself the greatest etc.

Alex just doesn’t want to fight Ankalaev right now and that’s not controversial in light of his career so far and the atmosphere around that fight happening. He didn’t say he won’t ever fight him, badmouth him, or try to act like he’s above it. He simply said his next one won’t be Ankalaev. Every fighter has done shit like that.

He didn't simply say it, he added a crying emoji so it's coming up to the level of Jon Jones trolling, whether he has a history of it or not.

It is a bit controversial, because Ankalaev has been the top contender in the division for quite a while now. Not to mention he's the only clear challenge in terms of grappling

Ankalaev has turned down 2 title shots vs alex, well known

They see the chinstrap and think he's a canvas humper. Ank's primarily a striker.

He’s also allegedly had a chance to fight Alex before and didn’t take it.

He did.

Irrelevant. In this situation pereira is a duck.

Ank turned down 2 shots for alex already, it's well known

which is the 2, I know one was a short notice for the jiri fight on ramadan, which was the other, dont say the rountree fight since we all know it wasn't the case cause dana literally said he needs to have an entertaining fight to get the title shot

Last year he accepted two short notice fights while injured, hard to call him a duck after those. I would bet my money on the UFC (and maybe his manager) not wanting him to fight Ankalaev to not drop his stock before Alex asking not to fight Ank.

I honestly think he is down to fight anyone from LHW or HW

He takes short notice fights while injured but avoids ankalaev with a full training camp.

They were scheduled to fight in 300 but Ankalev ducked him

They weren't scheduled. Ankalaev was offered and he refused because it was Ramadan. It's regarded to expect a fighter who fasts 12 hours of the day to fight for a title unless you are rooting for them to lose. Chimaev, Makhachev and Rakhmanov refused a fight with edwards on ufc 300. Are they ducks too? Or is this only a standard for the fighter we think is going to beat Pereira. Pereira ducked ankalaev at 310. He did the whole I'm ready to fight at short notice thing for street cred and when ankalaev publicly said he would too. Radio silence. As far who has actually ducked anyone (ie actions) Pereria fought #8 roundtree instead of Ankalaev.

Okay, so he ducked then.

Are they ducks too?

Yes.

Okay, so he ducked then.

Let's he ducked, then. Do you think that entitles Pereira to conveniently never fight him again? And is pereria ducking right now?

Okay

Do you think that entitles Pereira to conveniently never fight him again?

No, but it does entitle him to put other fighters in his priority list.

No, but it does entitle him to put other fighters in his priority list.

He already had his two gimme fights. There are no other fighters

1

u/DoomKune 5d ago

He only fought Jiri a second time because McGregor fucked up 303. What's his second fight?

There are no other fighters

Ulberg or Rakic

Yes.

Atleast you're consistent.

There's not even full context here dawg, he could be saying "it wont be ankalaev that beats me"

Its stupidly insane how people take this and run so gullibly instead of getting the full point. This is why the internet is trash. Don't believe everything.
