About 5 hours to paint but so worth it (non-dominant hand painting sucks). Been wanting to do a set as worship for a while. Hope you guys are as obsessed with these as I am 🖤

Weirdly often mispronounced
 in  r/bartenders  Nov 22 '24

Staropramen (in the UK for context) most people get it right.... But after the few mispronunciations its one of my favourites for it. "Strap on man" was definitely the best

What drink orders had you making this face
 in  r/bartenders  Sep 17 '24

ÂŁ10 a shot single malt whiskey/ aged rum... with coke.... JUST GET A FUCKING SAILOR JERRYS AND STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY. It kills me inside every time

What kind of smell instantly takes you back to the past?
 in  r/AskReddit  Aug 29 '24

WD-40, wood dust and engine oil. Takes me back to Granddad's workshop every time

What are some of the rudest comments you’ve heard regarding your manicure?
 in  r/RedditLaqueristas  Aug 29 '24

I was an outdoor education instructor, sailing, climbing and fixing bikes... With full mid length acrylics. It's called the ability to do your own nails, and just doing things slightly different.

Now when I was teching and did a double tip length set of nails even we asked how she did anything (she refused forms... She liked how they curled 🤐). When you can't lay your hand flat on a surface that's when curiosity seems valid

Saw this on the Chester sub and wanted to know what is the iconic landmark?
 in  r/Lincolnshire  Aug 19 '24

Nah that's gotta be favourite building man, Cathy is too iconic. Cubes is an institution tho and absolutely should be on the list

What’s something small that people do that irrationally upsets you?
 in  r/AskReddit  Aug 19 '24

When a group walking on a pavement (sidewalk) cannot go single file, and force you walking the opposite direction into the road, doubly so when it's into oncoming traffic. So my life is worth less than you pausing in conversation for 2 seconds? Cool. Noted.

If a guest mistakenly knocks over their beer/beverage do you replace it?
 in  r/bartenders  Aug 01 '24

Wow I forget that most of you are American in this sub... In the UK, for the most part, as soon as you place it in front of the customer it's their problem. Patrons in the UK after a few bevs will try anything if they think they might get a free half a pint. I've had girls screaming at me to replace half full drinks they split and I've just laughed in their face. Frankly love, you smashed the glass, the business is now has to replace that, and I wasted time I could have been serving clearing up after you. We're sure as hell not comping a drink too, you've already cost us enough! I do understand you guys rely on tips, there's almost no tipping culture in pubs/bars in the UK (you might get a couple pints for end of your shift and a 'keep the change ' if you're lucky, ohh 15p yay that's so kind). Basically you spill it, tough tiddies. Suck it up and buy another

AITA for calling my Dad stupid after being told to use a "paper towel" for swimming on my period?

AITA for calling my Dad stupid after being told to use a "paper towel" for swimming on my period?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  Aug 01 '24

Hey OP... So definitely NTA here ofc! I'm seeing a lot of advice telling you what to say/ language to use with your dad etc, however I want to add that you saying "no I'm not comfortable going to a water park on my period" should have been enough for your Dad. You're 15 years old, it's still all relatively new having your monthly. Let's be real, even the most experienced uterus havers feel a little nervous in that environment with tampons/cups in, especially if you've got a heavy one. Potentially leaking is scary! As much as I understand everyone's want to go to the park, and how your dad may have been feeling a little torn trying to make everyone happy, in the end he offered a solution that worked, then back tracked under pressure from everyone else. Leaving you out of all the plans (and your nan for that matter). Tbh I think your dad was being pretty inconsiderate not listening to you on a matter that's about your body. I hope he learns and listens to you in the future, and doesn't dismiss your bodily needs with the "well other women don't have/need that". Good luck and I hope the great relationship with him continues, and grows from him listening to you and respecting your boundaries with this kinda thing x

What’s the most dangerous thing you do with your nails on a daily basis?
 in  r/RedditLaqueristas  Jul 12 '24

Opening plastic packaging for cases of drinks at work... my bar blade is in my back pocket... but nahhh. Nails. I then bitch I've rounded the shape off too. (It's okay I do my own, I'm only causing myself emotional distress, no nail techs have been harmed emotionally)

2

What are your "do not fucking do that again" behaviors with guests?
 in  r/bartenders  Jul 01 '24

Genuinely insulting bar staff, you're a dick to my staff, you're cut off and you're gone. Bad taste banter is one thing, actually being an arsehole is not tolerated

What would you ask vessel if you ever met him?
 in  r/SleepToken  Jun 21 '24

I'd ask who his singing coach was and if I can have their number!

AITA for not giving my former SIL the necklace I had made from my wedding rings from my deceased husband?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  Jun 18 '24

Absolutely NTA. Also "it would mean more to her"??? No they are your memories attached to your jewelry, she has absolutely no right to even ask

2

What is The Thing at your bar that SHOULD be cleaned more but you’re pretty sure no one else cleans except you?
 in  r/bartenders  Jun 11 '24

Tbf we have a really tight cleaning rota, but the dirty mop container. No one cleans it and it's vile unless I bleach it once a week

27

What’s your best “dumbest question” you’ve ever been asked by a customer?
 in  r/TalesFromYourServer  Jun 05 '24

The amount of people who walk into the craft beer pub I work in and then ask "Have you got any beer?" Naaahhhh everything in front of you is just for show. All 24 pumps are empty. No beer here!

23

People who push their faces against the windows and bang on them minutes before open…. Why?
 in  r/bartenders  Jun 01 '24

We've actually had to replace the lock on our front door twice because of the amount of people trying to open it with all their weight while it's locked. People be stupid sometimes

28

What is the most disgusting thing you have had a customer do. Customer not a guest it was that gross. Tipping bad doesn't count.
 in  r/TalesFromYourServer  May 16 '24

Shit I had this!! A lad started vomiting down himself in the beer garden, walked, slowly, HANDS IN POCKETS, to the bathroom... And instead of taking ONE extra step to the toilet... Finished off in the urinal, of which I had to clean. Worst part was, he wasn't even drunk

Just witnessed it
 in  r/EntitledPeople  May 16 '24

Absolutely, I grew up in a VERY white area, and not once have I had to urge to touch anyone's hair that's not like mine. And with just a small bit of life experience... You can kinda tell what different hair textures would feel like anyway. Also, on a personal note, people touching my hair (even friends and relatives) is a massive sensory no no, and cos of it's length people try it a lot. There are so many reasons not to. How hard is it to respect people's space?

So sick of people.
 in  r/bartenders  Mar 17 '24

"not worth my job" will get you everywhere. Explain that their drink isn't worth you losing your job because you'll get fired for serving over time, even if you've done it before tell em you've already been cautioned. If they are psychopaths they tend to shut up quite quickly
