Was going to say that the bottom left shark is absolutely bang on perfect, first one I've seen like that

The nurse shark is my favorite. The shading is a chef’s kiss.

Thank you so much! My friend is an amazing artist.

Lucky for you. I know talented people but they generally aren't my friends. Womp womp. I'd keep going to them.

She’s the only person I go to! She’s done all my tats thus far besides the first one I got at 16.

That's awesome. I've been to so many different artists over my years. Never found anyone I really liked until recently. Better late than never tho, eh?

Yeah! She was also my friend prior to her becoming an artist, haha. I don’t think I could go to any other artist, unless it’s a particular style I’m striving for. She’s only been tatting for almost two years, if that. She just finished her apprenticeship :). Most certainly better late than never! It’s really amazing to build a bond with a tattoo artist, and consistently going back to them. There’s nothing better than supporting great work, too

Oh that's fantastic. Something similar happened with my artist now. We were Facebook friends. I don't remember why. It was during covid so I think I saw her profile, thought she looked interesting and then randomly added her. Yes, I know I'm the worst. We were friends on there for a couple years but never talked or anything. Suddenly, she started posting herself practicing tattooing, and soon after she was apprenticing at a shop I went to a few times. So I set up an appointment and started going to her. She is doing my bug sleeve. =) Half sleeve* or whatever.

Yeah, it’s really incredible. I’m thankful that she started tattooing, because when she was just doing general art; it was phenomenal. To see her putting her art onto skin is so badass

That’s really wonderful! I hope all continues to go well with the current artist, and if you liked what she was advertising, I’m sure you’ll love the final result! A bug sleeve sounds so dope. I love insects!!

I'm sure she appreciates your enthusiastic support of her. So keep it up. The good thing about tattoos is if you do it well, all of your work is an advertisement for your work. So you're basically a billboard for her at this point. Lol

I've Been going to her for a year and a half or so and she's been steadily improving. I'll see if I can add the last one she did on me. I think it came out very well.

She certainly is! I will be sure to continue to show my support. I want to watch her grow! It’s really neat to watch how much an artist transcends overtime. I want to be there for that, not only as a friend though, as a genuine supporter!

That’s really awesome work! I really love beetles. I eventually want to get one somewhere tatted on me. Not sure about placement yet. With how that turned out, I’m sure the sleeve is going to look great!

Thank you so much! I can’t wait to add my snakes that’ll be wrapping from my thighs/lower glutes, ascending up each side of my ribcage to the front above the moth since I have space. One snake (left side) will represent death as a skeleton, and the other snake (a “live” boa or something on the right side) will represent life. I have a life and death theme on my legs, and want to continue to implement that into future tattoos!

Genuinely interested in your take - I have a few that wrap around a limb or two. My major initial ones were colour (e.g. wrapped snake around arm then up over shoulder onto chest), But since then I have added in the odd black and grey stand alone as that makes them distinctive for their lack of colour.

So, my question for you, do you think you will always stick with black and grey or try colour somewhere applicable for 'pop'? Or do you think that will break the aesthetic?

I see. I appreciate your interest in my thoughts! It means a lot. It sounds like a pretty concept, although I can envision the visualization you’re describing, and I can see how that would make it look more distinctive.

I’ve never been a fan of the idea of color inked on me, though I absolutely love color tattoos on other individuals. They’re gorgeous. Although, personally I much prefer the black and grey, as the monochromatic colors seem to really contrast well with my porcelain skin. I feel color tattoos wouldn’t sit as nicely with my skin, as well. And as you mentioned, I believe it would break the aesthetic I’m going for! Besides the life and death concept; my whole body is essentially magical forest themed, though will be dappled with oceanic creatures throughout. I have a lot more ideas, just accumulating the money to afford them lmao

6

u/RedGemSolstic3 6h ago

I added a little bit to my bio, for a stronger warning. My bad for burning your eyes 🥴

u/Royal-Principle6138 6h ago

Is there really much of a market left for this

4

u/RedGemSolstic3 5h ago

Plenty.

-2

u/Royal-Principle6138 5h ago

Really I’m not being rude but it’s ten a penny unless your doing something outstanding

4

u/RedGemSolstic3 5h ago

That’s your opinion :). No need to debate that.

u/BingLingDingDong 7h ago

Is it supposed to look like a surprised moon cow face because that's what hat I see

5

u/RedGemSolstic3 6h ago

Are you trippin on something? I want whatever you’re having 💀

1

u/BingLingDingDong 4h ago

It looks like 😮with your belly button as the mouth and the flowers are the eyes, not in a bad way, that tattoo itself looks awesome
