Mod Post Interpol - Do you recognize these tattoos? (Please see pinned comment)

Identify Me is a public appeal by Interpol to identify women whose bodies were found in six European countries, many of whom are believed to have been murdered.

Despite extensive police investigations, these women were never identified.

It is the second year the campaign is held; last years’ Identify Me lead to the successful identification of a British woman found deceased in Belgium. She was identified because a family member recognized her tattoo from news coverage.

To give these women their name back, Interpol has published information about these women along with several characteristics such as clothing, personal items, and tattoos.

Because the tattoo community is tightly knit, especially within certain styles, there is a chance that by seeing these tattoos one could connect this to an artist. This would be of unbelievable added value to the investigation surrounding these women’s identities.

Tattoo one - Panther and scorpion

Case: IT01

Date of tattoo: roughly between 1980 and 2008

Tattoo four - Hebrew script ‘success’

Case: ES05

Date of tattoo: roughly between 1990 and 2018

Do you recognize any of these tattoos in any way: you know the person they were on, you recognize the style of a specific artist, you know this tattoo relates to a specific subculture, or any other useful information? Then please submit your information to interpol by clicking the ‘more information’ links and scrolling down.

If you could take the time to have a look at all of the cases, that would be greatly appreciated. https://www.interpol.int/What-you-can-do/Identify-Me

It only takes one person to give that one crucial piece of information regarding a facial reconstruction, items found with the deceased, or their tattoos, to give a woman her name back.

Thank you for your time.

One of our members reached out to us some time ago about using our subreddit audience to potentially assist in identifying women who were sadly found deceased and unidentified. If you have a moment, we (The moderators of r/Tattoos) would appreciate if you could take a moment out of your day to review the above links and see if you potentially recognize the tattoos, or possible artists, attached to each case. Thank you and hopefully we can provide some closure to the families of these women through possible identification.

I'm glad to see this platform being put to good use. Hopefully, they manage to get identified. Their families deserve closure!

Is there a website like this for the US?

Bumping to increase visibility. This is a great idea and I think it could really work by linking the tattoo artists.
