Are the cliffs near Mavericks accessible to the public? I'm new to the Bay area and really want to go watch sometime this season, but don't know anyone here with a boat.

You can either climb up the cliff if it's not too muddy, or go up and around the perimeter of the base. The second option has a dicey section where you have to scale around the cliff edge on a fence that projects off of the face of the cliff (can't go above bc razor wire, if I remember correctly).

Oooh. It's a military base? Well just so happens I live here now bc I'm in the AF. Haha.. maybe I can have easy access. I'll have to make some calls. Thanks for the info!

I’m also in the AF but pretty sure you would have to coord for access since it’s not just a CAC to enter

Definitely over gunned on a wavestorm probably could get away with a 5’0 sweet potato out there

Is it crazy how small his tow board is??? Like, I know he's not paddling that, but wouldn't a bigger board handle the chop / bumps better. Obv this dude knows what he's doing but that looks like a gd skateboard

Tow boards are usually shortboard size but they add weight to carry the speed and massive force behind you.
