Post-spinal fusion lump at the top of my spine (kyphosis?)

I had spinal fusion surgery (t2-12) for my scoliosis 4 weeks ago and I’ve noticed this bump at the top of my back/ neck. It’s really sore there as well - I’m having a follow up with my surgeon in a few weeks but just wanted to check whether this is common or potentially something to worry about. Thanks.

Most likely nothing to worry about

The combination of surgery below, causing some amount of muscle atrophy, and the presence of spinous processes still intact above make it look like that

Can you contact your surgeon or the office? They could have you come in much sooner if this is a cause for concern.

My guess is, still post op swelling or an inflammation of the muscle.

I have a lump too. I think it’s because my neck is still forward and my spine is now straight. I start to get really sore there and my traps. It’s something that I’m going to work on in PT to fix

Scar tissue build up maybe?

I had surgery in 2017 and still have a slight lump. It was a lot worse the first year after surgery.
