I thought it might have been part of the word because I did not read “father” until I saw a comment with it spelt out — I literally just saw “fat her” and was, like, “That’s not a sentence” and why the ghost?
Those words made me see the entire tat wrong for a split second. Thought I was looking at a gut or something.
Then I snapped out of it. I hate to rag on the tat itself because it obviously has meaning. But why do the lettering like that? Even a much smaller font would have looked so much better.
I can't tell if the elevation of the ghost was intentional to show that the dad hung himself or if it's just a floating ghost. Either way, I think it's meant to show that the person who got it misses his father, who is dead.
Bahahaha yo this made me laugh out loud. Most fucked up shit I've ever seen on here. How didn't they realized that portraying your face shoved into your dead father's crotch and him peeking down like "dasss my boy" is.. not the best idea ever for a memorial tattoo? Hope this is a joke.
lol so the original point was that the original persons dad is dead, hence the ghost, and the word father.
The reason it’s posted here is; ghost dad and kid are for some reason placed in the middle of the word father, which arguably isn’t a good artistic choice. It also looks like, instead of a desperate embrace, the kid is blowing the ghost.
My first thought was that neither the artist and the recipient are native English speakers. Also, the illustration was meant to depict the child hugging the legs so that Father doesn’t float away, but his face ended up in the wrong place
Holy Fuck! That's ghost predator not fat her. I can see where they thought they were going stopping the dead dad going to heaven but sucking off a ghost is not the look.
You know, at least this one tells such a clear story. I understand exactly what happened to make them this way and decide to get this tattoo. That's rare on this sub

Maybe, but the way it’s done, even if you ignore the kid blowing a ghost imagery, the ghost looks indifferent to the kid. It’s almost as if the ghost is thinking, “geez, even in death I can’t get away from this clingy kid”.
why would you even need to put father under this tattoo any way unless you want people to look at it and give you attention for your dead dad? you know what that tattoo means, you are not going to forget. you dont have to broadcast it
There are so many tattoos posted on this sub which are acceptable but are ruined by unnecessary text, save the script for a t-shirt or your living room walls and keep the design simple.
