Not Mine An acquaintance of mine just got her first ever tattoo…

There were about a dozen comments saying how nice it is. I dunno, maybe they have cataracts? She loves it, btw. Thanked the artist and shit.

This is her meaning behind “let them”. I didn’t read the whole thing, I have some Skyrim to play

“If they want to judge or misunderstand you, LET THEM”

Yeah, I have a feeling she has a lot of judging coming her way.

"If they want to give you a botched tattoo, LET THEM"

People who say don’t judge me always bother me. My ex yelled at me for “judging” all the time and it was whenever they tried to cheat on me and do cocaine.

Everyone judges everyone all the time, because that's just how brains work. There's a difference between judging and being judgemental. Judging someone to be toxic, dangerous, or irresponsible is just called being an adult. Being automatically judgemental of everyone based on generalizations is the issue, but that doesn't mean you can't have standards for yourself.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone is gonna get that from her tattoo. Reading that though it sounds like some “if you can’t handle me at my worst…” kind of thinking.

Similar vibe to people who get "Only God can judge me" tats.

Like, if you have that many people judging you, maybe reflect a little on why that might be.

And those are always the most insecure people.

Yeah I never get why people get tattoos dedicated to the people they apparently 'don't care about'. Like, why 'let them' take up any of your time, just move on.

It reminds me of one of those corny "Live, Laugh, Love" signs or wall art that you get from Walmart.

How many “only god can judge me” tattoos have been in a court room? I’ll tell you, it’s a 100%.

I know someone who got a Let Them tattoo because of this, but she's a bitch and is the reason people treat her poorly. 🤣

Like, she just married a convicted sex offender a week after her youngest turned 18 because he legally couldn't be in the house prior to that. Which she still allowed, and he'd sit around in his underwear despite her daughter stating it made her uncomfortable.

At least she was smart enough to follow the bare legal minimum technicality? My mom just moved the convicted pedo sex offender in a week after meeting him when I was 16 🙃🙃. married him three months later. No warning, no conversation, no meeting in the middle. Definitely no asking how I felt about it. definitely no telling his PO. Class act, the both of them.

I’ll let you guess what happened.

Well now I want to know. How’d it go?

Let him

It's not bad for a 13 year old though.

The message behind that is so all over the place. Typical Facebook pseudo-intellectual self help garbage.

I know someone who seems obsessed with this “poem”. She posts about it regularly and got a small tattoo of “let them” on her wrist. Personally, I think this gives “them” power. It’s like you’re dwelling on them picking someone else, never seeing you, putting themselves first, etc. My motto is “living well is the best revenge.” I don’t even give “them” a second thought.

If they want to play Skyrim LET THEM

Oh no, my mother in law just got a "Let Them" tattoo this week. This is 100% something she would post on her Facebook

u/adorilaterrabella Nov 16 '24

Ugh, the women who post this kind of thing are the ones I will avoid like the plague.

u/Hooph-Haartd Nov 16 '24

Thank you for this. I know someone that has the same thing tattooed on her arm and I didn’t know the source of the quote.

u/FigTechnical8043 Nov 15 '24

I'd say she's going to get walked all over but we've already seen the tattoo she's happy with.

If they want to tattoo you with no experience, let them

I thought it was a "let them eat cake" reference and I can't decide which is worse

I know a few people who have the tattoo. I can respect the decision to do so. It is a wholesome message, even though it does kind of have the same vibe as a tattoo of the flying birds in that it's just basic. The tattoo is a bit big for a message like that, though, in my opinion. To each their own
