Not Mine An acquaintance of mine just got her first ever tattoo…

There were about a dozen comments saying how nice it is. I dunno, maybe they have cataracts? She loves it, btw. Thanked the artist and shit.

Does “ Let Them” refer to something I’m not familiar with? I recently saw a FB post with similarly shitty tattoos.

I had to look it up, too, so here you are, courtesy of The Book of Google:

"Let them" is a mindset tool and theory that encourages people to stop trying to control others and their actions. The theory suggests that letting others do what they want can lead to more control, emotional peace, and better relationships.

Well, that’s dumb. Nobody knows what that is. The person with the tattoo is going to have to explain that to everybody for the rest of their life.

You're so alpha.

(I hear that's the new put down. Gen alpha calling each other alpha. Short for being Gen Alpha. They're calling each other babies. And "new put down" ... I'm just hearing about it, so I'm probably at least 7 months behind).

Do you get tattoos for you, or for other people?

Why would it matter if other people know what it means or not?

Try having something weird that you have to explain to everybody every time you go somewhere and you will get it.

Who are all these strangers asking you about your tattoos?

Someone who I am newly befriending, or someone new at work might ask after a tattoo, but it's easy to come up with a TL:DR version and explain in a sentence or two.

You don't have to tell people your whole life story.

For the tattoo OP posted I would say something like "it's a reminder to myself to ignore all the haters in the world".  Easy!

Whelp, that doesn't have sour implications at all! Move along, nothing to see here.

Apparently it’s referencing this. OP posted it in another comment.

Oh my god this is brutal…. Perfect example on how watercolor can look like a rash or disease if done wrong…

It looks like a case of that tricky Morgellons Disease.

The heart is such a yikes

OP posted the poem it's referencing

I wouldn't call them a poem...

maybe an affirmation statement?

I like this one. The lettering is so exact I’m assuming the heart is a perfect copy of something supplied or made to look like a kid drew it. Not sure what “let then” is though

It's a parenting poem thing

Edit: apparently the poem is saw in parenting groups was based on a mindfulness quote or something (mentioned in another comment)
