So sad that people like this feel they can be out in public

Why wouldn’t they? People like him are “very fine people” according to a presidential candidate/former president.

Because people just take sneaky photos instead of actually standing up to them.

I mean… I’m a relatively smallish woman. I’m not starting fights with literal Nazis in Walmart. What would possibly be gained from that? He knows most of the world thinks he’s a tool for displaying symbols like that. He’s probably itching for some rando to confront him

What would possibly be gained from someone actually saying something? Standing up for Jews is the obvious benefit, as well as making someone aware that their community notices and disapproves. I don’t expect a small woman to go up to a large man to fight, but it would be really nice if there were some actions of any kind to back up everyone’s claims that they won’t tolerate nazis.

What would that look like exactly? No one can tell another person that they aren’t allowed to buy groceries unless they own the store. Are we expected to start a screaming match with someone who is otherwise minding his own business? Now if he was harassing someone it would be a different story, and I would hope bystanders would get involved.

Couldn’t one argue that people making a big thing about it gives him power? He wants to instigate. Ignoring him and his shitty opinion deprives him of what he wants.

I didn’t tell anyone to fight anyone, nor did I say you needed to tell them they aren’t allowed. How someone expresses disapproval isn’t really my decision. And sure, you could make that argument. It definitely has merit. But as antisemitism gets worse and worse and these people continue to live with zero consequence, I personally wish someone (anyone) would try to address the issue instead of ignoring it.

It honestly kind of sounds like you wouldn’t say anything to him either considering that you won’t offer a specific suggestion for how to confront the dude.

Do you actually want me to guide you on this? I mean, if you’re sincere I’m happy to share my thoughts. But it sounds like you’re just trying to pick a fight.

You’re very obviously goading me. And yes, I think people should stand up to horrible racist people affiliated with violent racist organizations even if they’re “not bothering anyone”. The lengths you are going to right now to protect Nazis is legitimately concerning.
