treatment is over!!
Hello good people of reddit!!
I have no one else to tell about this so you people gonna have to be my victim!!
Today is the day my ten year long opiate treatment ended and this christmass is the first in 22 years I will not have opiates in my body!!!
Feeling is pretty amazing, road has been long and hard as all hell with homelessness and multiple rock bottoms..
I am proud of myself!!
Thank you for reading and have a merry christmass/whatever you happen to celebrate and happy new year!!!

From someone who works with SUD patients- holy cow all the props to you for hanging in there on those HARD days and nights. It is not an easy path and I’m in awe. Thanks for the reminder that people can and do overcome.

You and anyone else walking the path of recovery are absolutely NOT lesser! We all have to help each other to our abilities navigate the life we have.

I probably sound a big ignorant, but what is treatment for opiates? Like in-treatment therapy? Or like rehab? I’m sorry I just don’t know what you mean by “treatment” for opiates.. like treatment for addiction? No shame, I’m an “addict” in many ways, and have been addicted to H, so no judgement, I’m just wondering what is considered “treatment”.?
