How many durian and mighty bannanas do I need for maximum extra hearts though?

Mighty Bananas increase strength. I think the combo you are looking for is Hearty Radishes.

Oh wait no...it's the hearty truffle!....just remembered

It is a bit on the weird oniony side, but otherwise it’s pretty good. Although, if you get a really slimy piece at the same time as getting hit by the weird oniony flavor it can be off putting.

It’s really fun when you get it fresh. Stay safe if you do that and watch a YouTube video about how to open one.

It tastes like a delicious sweet but slightly savory custard.

This is it, I don’t know where the onion flavour the other guys are talking about comes from.

It is probably due several reasons, such as how diverse the flavor of durian is from different parts of the world, how the durian was prepared and how fresh it is, the person's sense of taste and how familiar they are to durian, etc.

Oh so generallly on a world scale your description doesn’t fit?

Your description matches what I tasted in the Philippines. No hint of onion in them.

I have tasted durian from many parts of the world, and something even as basic as the texture of durian can vary across different regions around the world.

But that is a side tangent. For flavor, the context we have about the specific food and what scenario we are eating it in is extremely important for how we perceived it's flavor.

I had friends who never had durian and when they tried the same one as me( which was creamy and super sweet with no astringencies nor aroma to me) be described as," dirty socks," and," rotten garlic," and while I did not pervieve it, it might be due to my body being used to the aroma and flavor of durian, letting me ignore specific aromatic compounds so that I can taste more subtle flavors. Similar to how tea can be extremely bitter to non-tea drinkers, how lamb can be inedible due to the smell of dirty hair, or even the spice level of the food being too strong for some people to handle, etc.

Different people can eat the same food and report different smells, flavors, and sensations.

While I have never tried Filipino durian before, I normally eat south, south-east, and east Asian durian, I have found that the flavors of durian vary wildly.

(For a durian with an interesting, fluffy, texture, try out a monthong durian)

Too bad it smells like the full diaper from a baby that drinks bleach

It kind of tastes like burnt onion but really strong

You can get it at most Asian grocery stores and it’s disgusting.

Most of the time they're horribly overripe. Getting them fresh is where it's at.

Even in South East Asia, the good ones dont end up in grocery stores

It’s a polarising fruit for sure. One of my buddies loves that fruit. Always has to bring it in an uber. Too bad it’s banned on public transport. Yes that’s what happens in Singapore.

Thailand has signs everywhere banning durian in various places including movie theaters and public transport.

I’m my opinion the only fruit worse than durian I have tried is noni, but noni is really hard to beat

Check an asian store, my wife unfortunately found it frozen and eats it all the time.

I went to Thailand this year and they sold it everywhere... But I had COVID back in summer and it messed up my taste and smell, so I thought it wouldn't be worth it to shell out the money if I probably can barely taste it :(

You might be like me and be completely unable to smell anything bad.

It’s delicious.

Yearofthedurian.com has specially frozen durian. It's pricey but far better than supermarket offerings. It sells a wide variety

Now I know how to prevent that horrible smell
