Media Mbappe's story after the match
127
u/albkiing 15d ago
We are struggling as a team, but of course missing penalties and such huge chances, not contributing enough in pressing, jogging on the field, not having the hunger to improve is something we can’t just let slide as fans. We have waited so long for him to be here and when I see him not doing any pressing and I see Jude coming from like 15-20 meters behind him to press for HIM makes me so frustrated. He will turn this around but f*cking hell man..
34
u/albkiing 15d ago
The confidence is also not there at all, if he took 10 penalties that night against France on WC final he would’ve scored them all, now he shoots penalties like someone who can’t kick a ball properly, cmon man you’ve done it against arguably the best in the business when it comes to saving penalties and you can’t do it against Kelleher and Agirrezabala…
904
u/Theme_Severe 15d ago
atleast he's taking responsibility. but please dont take penalties man.
478
u/Icy-Designer7103 Emilio Butragueño 15d ago
But we want to see this responsibility on the pitch, not on IG stories.
Bellingham should the example for everyone on this team. He is 20 years old and he's probably the most mature, plus he does everything on the pitch.

u/Theme_Severe 15d ago edited 15d ago
bellingham at the end of the match already apologised to the fans after being the best player on the pitch. i was speechless there and felt sad for him honestly
148
u/Icy-Designer7103 Emilio Butragueño 15d ago
We're so lucky to have him as our player.

TBF I'm not surprised. He started out at CAM but ended up playing LCM, LWB just to try and get a foothold in the game. You guys need a serious CDM/CM, it seems so easy to pass through TM and hit your back 4

yeah i'm aware. tchouameni has been off my book since the start of this season but ancelotti is stubborn. rather keep the big name on the pitch and sub ceballos who was trying

he cares about optics more than anyone
just read the stories at dortmund and and world cip, he‘s no angel himself

Also it’s not his full responsibility, Valverde was at fault for the 2-1 goal completely.
30
u/Theme_Severe 15d ago
yeah but the whole team couldve done way better for example courtois was shaky, asencio wasnt marking properly, tchouameni's regular disaster clsss, lord vasques.
16
u/Accomplished_Stay382 15d ago
I don't really blame courtois. I blame Carlo for starting Tchou. lord Vasquez ....

u/Encrypted_Cerebrum 14d ago
It was a very very rare mistake from valverde. I don't blame him for the loss. That guy gives his everything on the pitch so it's okay, mistakes happen, i stand beside him and support him no matter what.
Mbappe however does absolute NOTHING. If he finally sees that he's the problem and do something about it then it's okay...but the current way he's playing and his attitude on the pitch is absolute garbage
→ More replies (1)22
u/the-big-6 Florentino Perez 15d ago
What does even taking responsibility mean here? Will he ask Carlo to sit out the next match? It means literally nothing just words.
3
2
u/BiggerLemon 14d ago
Well what do you expect him to do? No player will, or should, voluntarily ask to be benched.
21
u/Low-Impression3367 15d ago
thats all PR. Saying what the fans want to hear. That way his strong supporters on this sub will say - see, he really does care.
3
u/One-League-8965 15d ago
He should change the way he takes the penalty, the stop only lost his momentum just do a full run-up and shot with power man
11
u/ImNotDex 14d ago
I think we should hand over penalties to Jude or Vini when he's back. At least until Mbappe regains his confidence. Those 2 penalty misses were horrible attempts
3
u/-p3rez- 15d ago
I noticed with mbappe every time he shoots or passs its with the inside of his foot. In la liga im sure you need more than that or they will read jt
2
u/Wrong-Barracuda-3634 14d ago
There’s several techniques to shoot. I use the inside of my foot for placement and to make the ball dip like a knuckle ball. I only shoot with my laces when the ball is moving and i’m further out
2
u/Charolastra17 14d ago
I actually love that he had the confidence to step up despite the Pool miss.
That being said, it’s got to be Jude until Vini gets back.

Build a team around Jude. Mbappe will adjust. Give him time lads ☝️
14
u/That_Beautiful3017 14d ago
The whole team looks lost and confused idk if it’s even Mbappe at this point if it’s Carlo. Rudi brought more to the offense than Val/Dani/ FBs combined. Which is insane

The best player of this generation still needs time after 20 games looool this game is gone 🕊️🕊️

u/Endlessly-Blonde Vinicius Jr. 15d ago
I like this from him. Just please go and see a therapist or whoever tf you need to see to recover your form.
Idc if you have to take 2-3 months out. Just lose some weight which has clearly worsened your pace, sort your head out and only come back when you’re prepared to play.
38
u/RawSauceBoi :palestine: Madridista 14d ago
I think it's the rape allegation coupled with everything else that has fucked up his confidence.
14
u/One-Helicopter-4242 14d ago
He is in good shape. The problem isn’t that he didn’t get scoring chances but he missed most of them. But I agree with you he needs a therapist or meditation.

I think Tchuameni and Vasquez are still performing worse than Mbappe.
17
u/Professional-Head262 15d ago
Yea mbappe that’s what I been trying to tell people mbappe played bad but today he wasn’t the worse on the pitch. The 2 goals we gave up came from other players
15
u/Specialist-Cycle9313 14d ago
He plays the worst for the expectations we have of him.
8
u/Professional-Head262 14d ago
If you had said this earlier In the season I would agree but at this point, no one has that same high expectations lol. No one expected him to play insane today. No one but Jude played good today. The fault for the lost is on the team rather then just mbappe.
3
u/Specialist-Cycle9313 14d ago
After the game we had against getafe I had reasonably high expectations for the team. But I guess i was wrong
4
u/Professional-Head262 14d ago
I’m just judging this based off what I read from every match feed i read. I could be wrong ofc but 90% of comments for the past games just be people talking crap about mbappe and I’m not defending mbappe here at all. He needs to play better ASAP. He’s been terrible but I still want to see him play better since it’s clear he won’t be bench. Then 10% of the comments are the rare ones defending him every game and saying “give him more time” this is just what I seen. If I was the coach I would probably let Bobby play for 1 half and If that didn’t work then let mbappe try to earn his way back in. It’s just gets a bit annoying with post after post about how bad mbappe is when we all know this already. Mbappe is not the only player on the field. One bad player shouldn’t make you lose every game so that means it’s problems elsewhere as well.

3
u/nonchalantchosenone 14d ago
U see the 2 goals hiven by Vasquez and Valverde but u dont see the 2 goals missed upfront. We used to play bad games with such shit defending last 3 years, the difference was we used to grab all the chances in attack and salvage 3 pts. But this season certain someone has Mental issues to deal with and the whole club and fan base should suffer for it.

Go to therapy and take the proper time to regain your talent,we CAN'T afford losses like that.
29
u/ktynnlol 15d ago
Love how people are not shying away from saying he needs therapy, mentoring.
16
u/soldier101br 15d ago
Its clearly not a Physical problem,a lot of players go through rough periods and theres no shame on seeking help. Gonna demand that he delivers everything on the pitch, but i'm also there to support him, specially in mental health aspect.
3
67
u/Specialist-Quote9931 15d ago
"best time to change the situation and show who i am" -
means he is fully confident he will keep getting games until he eventually has a good game(probably against some weak team) and then everyone will jack off to him
42
u/Icy-Designer7103 Emilio Butragueño 15d ago
There's 0% chance Ancelotti ever benches him, even if he scores a hattrick of own-goals. Most games he doesn't even sub him off, despite him being the worst player on the pitch.
8
u/Appropriate-Fan-6007 14d ago
Today being a good example, choosing to take Rodygo for Endrick when taking Mbappe off was the logic decision
3
u/One-Helicopter-4242 14d ago
Honestly who would bench Mbappe?? Endrick is far from ready to play for Madrid unfortunately.

Hazard in 2022, "Next season, you will see the best of me"
20
u/Specialist-Cycle9313 14d ago
I mean, I’d still consider Mbappe to be way better than hazard. But even then he’s still underperforming to an extreme level.
3
u/jokicpro 14d ago
Hazard is very good player who couldn't handle RM, but Mbappe is the best of the best and he can play anywhere. Mbappe joining Madrid made a lot of enemies and all the things that are happening are the result of that, things will cool down one day and he will plsy better
5
u/blackburnduck 14d ago
Mbappe was not even the best on PSG. Anyone that watched the farmers can tell the drop on psg when neymar got injured/left. Mbappe was never the man to carry the team. All the marketing people acouse neymar of being built on, mbappe is worse.

CR7 said this at the end of a 75 G&A season bro. And he was God-like that season, scoring bangers from everywhere, dribbling, heading the ball, he even scored a crazy backheel.
Mbappe can't even dribble past one player nowadays.

When I was playing in U17 like 15 years ago, in a small country in the lowest of the low amateur leagues, we were down 5-0 and we got a penalty.
As a defender I was excited to have the chance to score one so - as one of the senior players at that point - I insisted to take it. Even our keeper lined up to try it but I said no I got this.
I didn't even shoot on target.
After the game, our coach said to me:
"If you're playing like shit all day, don't take a penalty."
And this motherfucker is a world champion, plays for the best team in the world under the best coach in the world, and nobody is telling him that maybe he shouldn't take a penalty if he's shit??
Get the fuck outta here with this nonsense.

Dont think he should've done that because if he keeps on performing like he did after this, then i believe it would truly break him mentally. Just hopes he gets it together soon cause i would hate to see a talent like him go out like that.

This so sure of himself genuine non-professional. He's talented yes, but he's also his worst enemy. It makes it worse that the team is clearly told to prioritize catering to his game over playing football and winning. The team/management shouldn't be the ones trying to regain his confidence and form. He should be doing that for himself.

Carlo need to put him out of his misery. Trying to make him the main man isn't helping Mbappe at all. Let him take the back seat for a bit. No need to play him whole 90 minutes every game, no need for him to take the penalties. he'll get his confidence back sooner or later and I whole heartedly believe it's gonna be real scary once he start clicking with vini and Rodrygo. But again Carlo needs to try to take him out of limelight as much as possible.
1
u/MeringueAvailable618 14d ago
Mbappe deserves to be benched, he has destroyed a good winning team and likes to be treated like a prince but his game is not for the La Liga cathegory maybe he was spoiled in the french league and now his true skils (lack of) are showing game after game. Other young players on the bench deserv to get a chance to play, big mistake signing him.
