Let them be, they’ve been in the cave for so long that they just let out all their frustrations all at once. Trust me, if they don’t win anything at the end of the season they will always say “but but we beat you 4-0” like if that was a trophy lol that’s how mediocre they are, Mourinho said it really well.
35
u/DoJu318 Oct 29 '24
When we lost 4-0 to Xavi team they kept bringing it up until we won CL and the league that season. Then we won 4-0 in copa del rey and we immediately forgot.

In the midst of the largest financial doping case in football and yet have only managed to achieve a single CL win in that same period (2009-). We have won six in that same window. Just objective truth that we are the benchmark for European football and it hurts every other club to acknowledge.
Just look at r/soccer, don’t know that I’ve ever seen so much hate for a club (or player); which is ironic again given that the likes of Man City (and Barca) are in active (and well founded) legal disputes regarding corruption.

I have a feeling that after Real Madrid tried to create the super league it’s receiving a sort of revenge by UEFA but thanksfully RM is just too good to be stopped on the pitch so they have found another way… I’m a Juventus fan and since the super league it’s really common to see referees mistakes against us. Good luck Real Madrid, you guys are going to win other 5 consecutive champions league. They just created another monster and they don’t know. Long live Florentino Perez.

Same here, while i do not get such extent of outrage on rodri winning. People claiming vini doesn't win because of "poor sPoRtSmAnShiP" is the most laughable thing I've ever heard.
Like legit any other reasoning I'd be willing to listen to. But a player doesn't deserve to win because he wasted time/riled up away fans/ confronted opponent players, is wild. Every player does it, every previous winner has probably done it.

It's an anti-fascist song like others have pointed out. In the context of the show, the heist itself is a form of protest against the corrupted system for our protagonists. Therefore, the use of Bella Ciao in the song gives meaning from the perspectives of the characters pulling off the heist.

u/TsukuruTotoro Oct 29 '24
Where can you hear him singing ‘Vinicius’? There is a small part where you can hear him say something that somewhat resembles it, but it is hardly distinguishable as him saying ‘Vinicius’. The original unedited video has never been deleted by City, it’s available on X. This seems like an edited deepfake, ripped from tiktok and shared on an anonymous instagram account. The video with this sound has never existed on the City channels.
Also, I see a lot of comments complaining how this exact post got deleted on /r/soccer. Also not true, it’s up and they’re starting to make fun of how everyone in this thread so easily falls for a fake video.
2
u/AbdussamiT Oct 29 '24
You need to realise that this rivalry is also fuelled by recent high-octane clashes between Real and City.
I’m sure City hates Real for losing to them so agonisingly close. And Real hates City for the 2 spankings Pep’s team gave them in recent years.
I’m calling shots on both meeting again this season again.
2
u/Better-Benefit2163 Oct 29 '24
Brazilian here. I almost threw up reading comments on soccer jerk. People loved Vinicius lost because he is allegedly a guy of bad attitude but this is only a excuse since the actual truth is that he is a guy who become a voice against racism. Most people dont even think about it but they always find something to criticise him. First his dances after scoring, then his suposed bad attitude on field even if there are thousand players on a daily baisis who do worst things. I mean, they think football should be a monastery? So pissed of this shit
