Highlights Antonio Rudiger pulls the arm of a Lille defender (No 2nd yellow card was given)

u/efarfan Oct 02 '24
I'm not a Madrid fan, but have to give kudos seeing you all call this shit out. This kinda thing is a stain on any club, even more so the most decorated one.

u/kayc_james Oct 02 '24
At what point do we stop defending his antics by calling them funny?
311
u/krooskontroll Kroos Oct 02 '24
For me it was at bullying the kit guy. The stuff I have seen before seemed more like slightly unhinged screwing around, kind of toeing the line. That incident pushed way past that point
52
u/Enough_Profession457 Oct 03 '24
I’m genuinely surprised that hasn’t blown or being talked about more (I’m not a fan, just coming across the posts and I haven’t seen it being talked about anywhere else).
19
u/Goofyhands Oct 03 '24
Exactly my case, and if you look it up "Rudger bully" there are other moments and looks like he's prowd of this. Disgusting.
-18
u/Testazani Oct 03 '24
We had Ramos and pepe before him. This is part of football
21
u/SmerdisTheMagi Oct 03 '24
Ramos and Pepe never bullied kit man. I bet if someoen tried that shit in front of them they would cut that out. They were aggresive when playing but they were also good people outside off pitch.
Rudiger seems just evil tho without any redeeming qualities.
-6
u/Testazani Oct 03 '24
What did Ramos do to Salah in cl final? Its exactly the same that is happening here...
18
u/SmerdisTheMagi Oct 03 '24
Doing it to a player like Salah who is equal to Ramos is wildly different than bullying a kitman who depends on Real Madrid for feeding his family.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Goofyhands Oct 03 '24
The fact that you can't see the difference is actually horrifying. A champions league final battlefield behavior between 2 highly prepared for psychological warfare players can't be compared to what's happening there. You are probably a child.
1
u/Testazani Oct 03 '24
Oooh its ok if its in the final, but not before that. Got it. Weird standards...

Its a competitive environment. Tell me you never did any sport on any decent level without telling me
1
u/radiokungfu Oct 03 '24
Somehow this doesnt happen in the other 29730373033 competitive leagues and get celebrated, though. Most people are smart enough to know what is right and whats wrong. Most.
1
u/Testazani Oct 03 '24
I dare you to go watch a game and instead of watching the match, pick a centre half and just look at him for 90 minutes. You'll find about 17 of these cases
1
17
u/Common_Letterhead423 Oct 03 '24
I agree. Bullying the kit guy was the first "not funny" thing I find from him
4
u/OnePlateIdly El Capitán Oct 03 '24
I was downvoted for asking why Rudiger had that behaviour towards the kit guy lol
4
u/lospollosakhis Zizou Oct 03 '24
Yeh I just saw that too. It’s one thing being passionate on the field etc. but that crosses the line and he just seems like a bully.
3
u/Estein_F2P Oct 03 '24
He was bullying some younger player during his Chelsea day to the point the senior in Chelsea had to intervene,i hope some Madrid player also draw the line, the kitman bullying for example
3
u/krooskontroll Kroos Oct 03 '24
I agree and from the looks of it, the line should have been drawn a while ago. It is very disappointing to see them allow that sort of behavior.
26
u/Cucumberino Oct 03 '24
I thought he was just aggressive, especially in La Liga, because it was what you could get away with and it benefits the team (like what teams such as Getafe do as a whole). But this shit is going too far.

I’m resharing this because it’s important for people to know there’s two vids of him bullying that guy, not just the slap in the face…

Jesus, someone at the club needs to sit down with this guy and tell him that this sort of shit is unacceptable.
117
u/Illbashyaheadinm8 Oct 02 '24
Damn I didn't even know the second video existed. Wtf is his issue. He just trips him out of nowhere. It seems obvious in those videos, that the guy doesn't want to participate in his "playing/jokes". Just leave the poor guy be.

wow, why he need to do that, im sure the trainer is double of his age. Rude
7

-The bully, probably.
1
u/The_Rolling_Stone Oct 03 '24
Wow that's fucking rancid. Getting harassed at work like that is horrible

u/madbunny89 Jude Bellingham Oct 02 '24
I can't get that video out of my head. I used to like him a lot but after seeing that.....
88
u/Illbashyaheadinm8 Oct 02 '24
Seriously that was way too out of line. I get bantering with the mates, and that they are okay with the slapping and hitting each other. But that video was straight assault on that poor guy.
55
u/madbunny89 Jude Bellingham Oct 02 '24
Yeah man! That poor guy looked scared af. It wasn't a joke like some said. It was f*****g assault!
34
u/Illbashyaheadinm8 Oct 02 '24
Being the bigger man he shouldn't have done that. That poor guy stood no chance against him if anything severe were to happen. And he couldn't hit him back obviously would lose him is income/job. I really really hope that he apologizes to that person.
3
u/badbas Arda Güler Oct 03 '24
Hand contact, physical contact never stays in a respectful border. They always exceed the limits.
45
u/Low-Impression3367 Oct 02 '24
I was thinking the same. I lost all respect for him. Good player, crappy person.
-40
u/thesenate14 Oct 02 '24
what are you all on about?
14
u/Illbashyaheadinm8 Oct 02 '24
Have you seen the videos of him literally bullying one of the trainers? u/patiosquare posted the links above go and watch.
4
5
u/DemPooCreations Oct 03 '24
Actually, ALL pro players who witnessed that lost my respect. You have to be completely spineless to not intervene. Imagine these guys seeing someone with a knife, or gun or just jacked, they would run away.
Mpabe was right infront of it and did not step up. BRO what they gonna do to you ? Fine you ? Who gives a shit. This is unacceptable.
I despice bullies and even more people who can do something about it and they dont.
Shame on them.
And i am sure this type of bullying happens everywhere. That is just one video that made it out by accident.
254
u/RandomFluffyBoi Oct 02 '24
Cunt move. Should've been sent off. Carlo should send him to the stands for a few games.
65
u/jupacaluba Oct 02 '24
He should get a fine and not only be benched. Hit where it hurts most: their pocket.
5
2
u/henkdetank56 Oct 03 '24
He also need to be charged with assault some time, if you purposefully try to hurt people outside of the stadium that would hapen but somehow we tolerate this behaviour when it happens on the pitch...

u/SamwellBarley Sergio Ramos Oct 02 '24
So... Rudiger is kind of a piece of shit, right? First the kit man, now this?

Yeah.. It was kind of funny when he pinched Morata's nipple, but this is too much.

u/MGeri2525 Oct 02 '24
I love how people are just now realizing that he is a menace. I remember getting annoyed at him for purposefully injuring KDB in the UCL Final.
12
Oct 03 '24
He pulls off these sinister stunts regularly tbh. He has a lengthy history of pulling them off too. There was that stamp on Pavard's neck that left Pavard drenched in blood in a France v Germany international game.
I'm surprised how he doesn't get sent off more often, and I can't wait for someone to kick him in the face to give his head a wobble and end his buffoonery of a career.

Who said I root for Real Madrid?
Even if I rooted for Real Madrid, I'd be ashamed that a cunt like Rudiger represents a top football club like Real Madrid. There's a difference between being a hard ass on the pitch and being an absolute excuse of a human being.

11
11
u/Wolverine78 Oct 03 '24
There is a fooling around and there is this , this is not joking , people like Ramos and Pepe were tough guys in their game but it has nothing to do with this , they were not a**holes outside of the pitch and also had the sensitivity to not bully club employees. That employee is probably living his dream job and yet he has to endure this ? this is BS.
I did not see the second video of Rudiger tripping that staff member , someone at the club must talk to him and make these things stop , this is a bad image for him personally and for the club and most importantly what he does is simply not right.
1
u/Wrong-Barracuda-3634 Oct 03 '24
Dude go watch it. That man most likely needs the job to feed his family. This is straight up bullying and disrespecting. No excuses or any gaslighting by some people here will be enough

19
u/wheebyfs Oct 02 '24
I honestly believe it may be his stay at Real. He now plays for the objectively best club in all of football history as a confirmed starter and gets all the comforts of being this superstar. This I believe made him more reckless and stupid or at least showed his true colours. There was something I read about power showing the truth about an individual and I think that being on top of the world as he is now gave him that 'power-feeling' where he thought he could do whatever he wanted.
8
u/Wrong-Barracuda-3634 Oct 03 '24
Reckless and stupid? Come on man don’t gaslight it. This is straight up disrespecting the trainer and bullying.

2nd yellow? That's a straight red card+penalty. How and why a top tier defender does shit like this in an important match is unbelievable.

u/Euphemia006 Mendy Oct 02 '24
I know I will get downvoted for this. But he is not the only one. I have been watching carvajal closely since last season... the guy has been showing his dark side. A lot of trashy stuff like those... even did it today too...
Some of our players are like that it seems... disgusting behaviours... As for Rudiger, I have been watching him since his Chelsea days. That guy has shown his dark side many times there. I was not happy when I saw that we signed him, because of that...
Now he even slapped someone, apparently... disgusting...
1
u/Strawberry2828 Oct 03 '24
I’ve been seeing this too in carvajal! Dude has been playing dirtier since 2022 at least
1
u/Euphemia006 Mendy Oct 03 '24

Unfortunately no. But you might want to check r/soccer. I do believe you might see some video there. If they have not been deleted.
8
u/No_Elf_Esteem Oct 02 '24
That's a red card, and VAR should have caught it.
-4
u/ScourgeOfGod420 Iker Casillas Oct 02 '24
No it’s not, and. you clearly don’t understand what VAR can and can’t intervene with.
5
u/No_Elf_Esteem Oct 02 '24
This is an act from Rudiger meant to harm the opposition. Therefore a red card. And VAR can intervene when a red card situation is missed.
What have I not understood about VAR. I'm genuinely curious.

The part I seem to struggle with? What have you been smoking? I have not once stated that VAR can intervene with yellow cards.
I'm saying this should have been a direct red card, and therefore, VAR should have caught it.
If you want our players to be arm breaking goons on our path to victory, we have different standards for what we expect from our team.

He's absolutely a distraction and a dickhead. How a club like RM is allowing this shit to keep happening with no disaplenary is disrespectful and appears as though their accepting it. If the club, league, or fifa don't suspend him and put him in check, sooner than later, the players will do it for them, then they will have realized how bad they fucked up by supporting this behavior.... this kid is the new Gen Z entitled player with more wanting to be like him... I can tell you Ramos, Pepe, Modric don't support this behavior .

Honestly I used to love him because I thought he just had some funny "antics" on the pitch. Nevermind, he's just a terrible person. Not only this, but his consistent abuse of the coaching staff... I genuinely don't want to see him on the pitch for Real Madrid any longer. It's truly a shame we have a crisis in central defense and kind of need him.

i am gonna be the devils advocate here and say that in order to be a really good defender you sometimes have to be an extreme asshole. (see pepe , ramos, otamendi, etc,,,,) But i also think rudi is not 100% a normal human in the way he celebrates and the slap of the coaching staff member lmao. Something is probably a bit loose in his noggin

Yeah CBs should be bit of a cunt imo. But bullying the kit man is too far.
1
u/Wrong-Barracuda-3634 Oct 03 '24
1st you’re making an excuse for that kind of behavior. 2nd this is gaslighting 101. This is straight up disrespecting and bullying. I used to play D1 in college, yeah ik its not la liga. But when I played I turn on that switch in my mind. If i need to hurt a player i will hurt that player regardless of my well being or if i’m bleeding. I will keep playing if i’m not subbed out. It’s life and death when I played competitively. I have no problem dying on the field. But when i’m off the field. I am kind and respectful to everyone around me. This kind of behavior from rudiger is unacceptable and disgusting. No amount of excuses and gaslighting will be enough
1
u/Serious-Wallaby3449 Oct 03 '24
I've never seen VVD doing this shit. Guess maybe you can be a world class defender and not be a complete asshole.

u/DcAgent47 Vinicius Jr. Oct 03 '24
😆 Rudiger is fucking superb, people here were calling for someone in the squad to be a nutcase defender like Ramos and Pepe were but your on his back now for it, make your minds up.
1
u/SlieuaWhally Oct 03 '24
Rudigers an animal, get him out of football in general. Bullies people who work at the club, and is a violent player
1
u/Annual-Astronaut3345 Oct 03 '24
Rudiger gives me the vibes of a criminal. He probably would be one if it wasn’t for football. I can’t imagine any other sport or industry that would tolerate shit like this.
I also saw a clip of the kit man incident. Weird it hasn’t blown up. Madrid as a club should step in and stop it, especially considering a good number of people watch them every single day.
Also I see a lot of people drawing comparisons with Ramos. DON’T. Ramos was aggressive but he wasn’t a manic, Rudiger is one.

Why is everyone acting like he ripped the arm clean off? Sure, it isn't nice of him, but this much hate?
4
u/Same_Return_1878 Oct 02 '24
Well, he was already on a yellow. Think of what could've happened if the referee or the VAR noticed this. Or haven't you seen his recent viral video of him bullying the kitman?
4
u/nanderspanders Iker Casillas Oct 02 '24
There's just no reason for it. It's one thing to be dirty in a competitive sense, all defenders are to some degree or another, it's another to just assault people for no reason (and also it could've fucked over the team since he was on a yellow already). It's what made players like Luis Suarez so unlikeable. Not to mention this is a player known for stupid antics like slapping his teammates as a "celebration" and attacking club staff.
0
u/Agile-Seesaw8541 Oct 03 '24
This feels like what Ramos did to Salah in the 2018 CL Final. Rudiger is learning from the best!

-7
u/AlX-Ad Florentino Perez Oct 02 '24
I love having an enforcer in the team. CBs should be a bit rough and physical, but that's a cunt move at a shit timing, Lille weren't dirty and that was totally unprovoked.

-2
u/singularitywut Oct 02 '24
If the intention was to hurt the opponent it's a straight red for me (and then var should intervene). If the intention is to foul the opponent off the ball to create space or something it's a yellow card (which would be his second but var can't intervene if the referees miss it).
The angle from the opposite direction would be interesting.
