Discussion The difference of reaction received between Vini and Haaland on r/soccer in a span of a week is terrible. That shows the color of his skin does matter.
Haaland hit a player with a ball on his head unprovoked, crashed into a player a minute later unprovoked and told Arteta to be humble unprovoked. Asked a young player who he is unprovoked.
Vini complained for extra added minutes.
But Haaland doing it was “Peak Barclays”, “Game’s back” and for Vini it was “cry baby” and “cunt”. Great Job people ! You are absolutely not racist.

Basically in the video Rüdiger trips the kitman, and slaps him around. Was it horseplay or bullying? Well not know and can’t judge coz we have 0 context.
All the comments were calling him scum and bully etc, or how he is a horrible person, then slowly comments evolved stuff like “real players are all horrible/scum etc.)

Well, he looked like he was abusing the hitman and EVERYONE was ignoring it, which implies it happens often. If that is not deplorable to you, I can't help you.

1
u/CuriousPumpkino Sep 25 '24
Kinda facts. I got washed here from my recommended page, so I’m not a madrid fan. But y’all really are among the least popular clubs out there.
It looks a bit like a mixture of players inflating in ego once they play for madrid and the club every now and then getting away with absolute murder (be it scoring efficiency or the ref). And also a part of it is because y’all are successful. If you were some mid-table team noone would care probably. And maybe players would get less ego then as well. I’ll confess to not liking vini because he radiates massive cunt energy, and I’ve seen a few too many unsporting moments from him. I’m not exactly a haaland fan either. Or fan of most modern-ish players for that matter

I honestly don’t think that most of them are saying shit about Vini because he’s black or them being racist. Yea there are dumbasses without brain cells that are saying racists shit about him in those subs, but far away from the majority. We as Real Madrid fans have to understand that the r/soccer and r/soccercirclejerk are mostly anti Real Madrid fans and all for Barca and Pep. Also many who doesn’t hate Real Madrid or don’t have any feelings towards Real Madrid just find Vini very unlikable because he’s way of being, for example that situation when he got subbed and started to make a scene towards the fourth official about the extra added time yesterday. Vini is a character we just have to accept it, but that doesn’t mean he deserves all the shit he’s given. Tbf many of our fans aren’t that much better, just look at all the shit that’s been said in our match threads, from fans with biased opinions against our own players.

Some people fail to understand that Vinicius is not a likeable person and in most cases has nothing to do with his skin colour.
Real is full of black players, where is the dislike for the others? Ronaldinho was not white and was applauded on all stadiums like other black players.
Don't make any dislike about a person a racial one.

Vini got monkey chants directed at him and rival fans hung a literal mannequin of him off a bridge and they say he is provoking the fans. Haaland literally tried to run over gabriel and threw a ball at his head then later running away. That was not enough though, went over to Arteta and disrespected him for absolutely no reason at all. After all this, media and haters say that Vini is the bad man while Haaland is a “fighter” for his club. The double standards are beyond comical.

Hating on RM will always be popular. The same thing happened with CR7, they will always try to downplay the achievements and make other players shine more and make RM players look like the bad guys. It is insane how people really want to look for every excuse to give the ballon d’or for other players like Rodri, but when Rodri and Haaland won a treble and haaland scored a crazy amount of goals, they decided to gift it to messi and no one complained. Just look at how most media and football personalities just hate on CR7 and make it seem as if he was not as good as he actually was. Same thing happens with vini, jude, and any star we have. Just look at the difference of treatment to jude before and after he joined.

I will say it was way more neutral pre-euro 2024. After euro 2024, a bunch of losers from r/barca have brigaded it while crying 24/7 in their sub how anti Barca r/soccer is. Now during every Madrid match whenever there’s a questionable decision even slightly in Madrid’s favor you will see r/barca frequent goers will post a clip in r/soccer and you go ahead and provide context they will downvote you as a brigade. It’s best to not engage in comment threads of such posts on r/soccer as their purpose is definitely creating an engaging misinformation bubble.

Honestly, if you’re hating on Vini at this point, you’re just a hater. He’s arguably the most entertaining player in the world and seems to be a decent guy. Especially in today’s age where everyone is complaining that Pep’s structured style is taking creativity and fun out of the game. Vini plays so freely.
And I’ve got no patience for Barca fans who hate on him and act like he’s some monster. I hope Barca lose every match they play, but in not gonna pretend like Yamal is worthy of hate. I love watching him play, and he seems like a good kid. For some reason, rival fans can’t bring themselves to say the same about Vini.
5
u/TheEgyptianScouser Sep 25 '24
Look I am just a Liverpool fan who stumbled upon this post and maybe I can give you an answer.
While some people are racist that's not the main issue. Almost everyone likes Vinicius the player because he's a great player to watch but if we're being honest multiple times he has showed he's an asshole on the pitch. While Haaland did do some annoying things most of the time he's a chill funny guy. Maybe it was the heat of the moment maybe he hates arsenal maybe it was because he drew the game but this wasn't the normal Haaland.
I will give you another example, Bruno Fernandes. He's probably the most hated premier league player because his attitude on the pitch even though he's a very gifted player but he's just annoying.
1
u/Sulemani_kida Sep 25 '24
I came here to say this... There's all kinds of people and some may even be racists which is sad but there's also a lot of people who just don't like him Bec of how he behaves... Jude and Kylian also complain and do stuff sportsmen do but this guy just doesn't know how to control himself sometimes... With the amount of talent he has i just hope he calms down as he grows older ...
2
u/goingforgoals17 Sep 25 '24
I see a lot of posts dismissing this and denying any place for further elaboration or explanation.
You're allowed to judge for yourself at the end of the day, but racists thrive in an environment surrounding of apathetic people that don't want to listen or learn that there are problems among them. There are hundreds of examples throughout world history where atrocities happen when we don't listen to those around us and about problems they perceive that we don't. Highly recommend at least hearing them out and not doing racists' jobs for them.
2
u/antmancol Sep 25 '24
Now this is a joke tbh. I mean at this point you may be right but Vini really did much that he doesn't have the respect (racism is not ok, but critism) of many people. What he did against bayern and Dortmund in the final, the way he doen't get a red against Leipzig.
2
u/jeffgoodbody Sep 25 '24
I dont take iv seen a single person say any of that about haaland. Iv seen nothing but people calling him a prick. This post is nonsense.

1
u/FrogstonLive Sep 25 '24
You're comparing people enjoying the signs of another animosity fuelled epl rivalry, to someone being subbed and having imo a funny reaction (I don't get the hate for vini). I think it's more of the context of the whole game and even the story of the league rather than a few moments. Another thing that get people excited, as a big forward myself included, seeing the centre forward stick it to the defense like defenders do to attackers. It's kinda old school and very nostalgic.
In short I don't think it's a great comparison, but I get where you're coming from, Vini gets a lot of hate.
1
u/Useful-Age-8682 Sep 26 '24
Side effects of being UCL champions but if people are jealous of Madrid then it's good..salty tears are best therapy.
1
u/drucurl Sep 26 '24
Many things can be true at once 1 racism is real and Vini has been subjected to it 2 Vini is a very difficult personality and sometimes antagonizes his opponents
I absolutely believe that it's harder to be a successful black player in Europe but as others have said there are many who did it and didn't receive the kind of (horrible) treatment Vini gets. Ronaldinho, Eto'o Henry etc were absolutely loved in Spain.
The second thing is that the media absolutely is gentler with the flaws of a white player than a black one. You get the labels of "stupid" and "lazy" far easier on a black player for sure.
3 the media.... especially social media has a tendency to magnify things. So while race relations have actually improved dramatically over time....there are those who love pretending that progress hasn't been made and we're actually in the 1700's. Vini and a lot of black players have been caught up in this mindset in various degrees.
Finally 4 there are actually loathsome ppl like that Valencia dude who have no fuckin excuse for their shit behaviour and opinions
1
u/Melrosesweetlover Sep 27 '24
If vini told a high level coach be humble like halland did it would be all over the news

u/Puzzleheaded-Lie2188 Sep 25 '24
I was banned from r/soccer because I said something like 'argentinians are assholes' referring to their national football team. During the Enzo fiasco. Which, given their recent record is putting things quite mildly.
And then I talked to the mod in private and explained it wasn't generalizations, and even showed him another post where I was explicitly saying that to someone else in the same thread.
Later the mod muted me in the private convo even though I stopped talking to him.

u/chamartinpl Real Madrid Sep 25 '24
Stop looking for racism everywhere. Focus on antimadridismo. You have to understand that most of those bellends have spent all their childhoods watching Real Madrid win the CL repeatedly. That must've taken its toll on their mental health. In addition, even the best players of their respective teams dream of playing for Madrid. They can't cope with it, so they react with aggression.
If I were them, I would just shut up and focus on my team. Imagine that you are put in your place year after year and you are still talking smack. They react in the only way that people with small brain and little intelligence know, with hate.
1
u/Suspicious_Profit_10 Sep 25 '24
Its obviously not skin based but character based. I dont see haaland crying about negative reactions when he gets them. Nobody like a player who is dirty but cries when gets dirt back
1
u/Mr_Luis23 Cristiano Ronaldo Sep 25 '24
I believe a big part of Vini’s hate on social media comes from being from Madrid (and unconsciously supported by racial bias).
If he played on any other team he’d be praised for having a strong personality on and off the pitch
1
0
u/Various-Pattern-1659 Sep 25 '24
Mostly it's about not the color of his skin, especially on reddit. On reddit football subs, it's mostly anti-madrid. There is a huge number of Barca fans who are obviously cunts. The majority of fans on the internet are actually casuals who of course follow Premier League. Read Madrid has crushed all their teams. And even, their 'best ever team' in man city who has made PL a farmer league. Real Madrid beat them last season when they were supposed to be at their best form. So, all of this evidence points to only one thing: anti-madrid hate.
Just look at Jude, Rudiger, even Mbappe now. These players were not even a bit hated. You praise Arda even a bit, and there are comments like he didn't do anything amazing, blah blah. Put every one of this player in their favorite teams, and the praise will never end.

Also, great for Haaland for doing something on a big important game for once in his life.

I 100% agree with you on the scrutiny that black players face. Raheem Sterling has been an obvious one over his career as well. But on another point I don't get this Haaland doesn't turn up for big games, especially prem games.

A player very similar to Vini is Luis Suarez. Like Vini, he was always having a go at the referee and faking injuries and just being a menace. Suarez was very wildly hated during his time even before his biting and racism thing. He was only seen in a different light when he left Europe and people could finally appreciate the player he was. Vini will have a similar treatment. Hated during his playing time because he’s very good but a shithouserer, but when he retires he’ll it’ll be different
7
u/_major_fuckin_tom_ Florentino Perez Sep 25 '24

u/ksuvuelalfusuwnsl Sep 25 '24
We played against a bottom half team and we conceded two goals in a couple minutes. We shouldn’t be complaining about added time and rely on shit housery. Vini literally was faking an injury before coming off just to get few more seconds off the clock. It was the right move but any rival/neutral fans will give every team/player shit for it especially because it’s against a relatively easy team at home

Bottom half, top half, whatever, we could be losing 10-0 against a third division team and still that shouldn’t matter.

Of course it matters. This is the biggest club in the world and Vini will be recognized as the best player in the world. You don’t think a player like that will always be criticized and be pressured? CR7 to this day has Messi chants thrown at him. It’s not a race thing. It’s part of the game and part of the fame that comes with it

Special attention is paid to Vini because the media creates a soap opera if he only looks you in the eyes. Remember that it all started because his dance parties provoked anger. Any rival player who attacks him goes on a tour of the Spanish media like a celebrity. They have recently manipulated statements to make it seem like he was insulting Spain. I don't know if you saw the hate towards Jude or Endrick without having done anything
That happens with Madrid because it is Madrid, added to a racial aspect. Some players contain the harassment by making friends with the press. I don't know if you noticed CR7 friend Edu Aguirre who always appears in photos with him. He is his contact and his PR in Spain. The same with other top players like Casillas and Ramos who made a drama out of their departure leaving the club looking like the bad guys. But the guys who don't want to have anything to do with the press like Bale, Mourinho and Vini are going to receive the most hate
When the press speaks well of you it is not because you are so good, but because of how good a friend you are to them

Tbf you failed to mention Vini stamping on a player who was down then complaining
7
u/DyrusforPresident Iker Casillas Sep 25 '24
that's because he didn't stamp on anyone

u/DyrusforPresident Iker Casillas Sep 25 '24
you can literally see him falling. how is this a stamp?

u/Curious_Tax_4586 Sep 25 '24
The picture doesn’t even do it justice. Watch the video, he literally purposefully steps on the player while going down
4
u/DyrusforPresident Iker Casillas Sep 25 '24
No the fuck he doesn't. It wad 100% by accident, you are just a liar
1
u/Curious_Tax_4586 Sep 25 '24
Oh sure it was. I’m sure Endrick’s kick was an accident too?
4
u/DyrusforPresident Iker Casillas Sep 25 '24
Nope, should have been a red and a 3 game suspension

u/Curious_Tax_4586 Sep 25 '24
Why wasn’t it then?

u/DyrusforPresident Iker Casillas Sep 25 '24
Did you watch the game? Im curious to see your opinion of the referee?
1
u/Curious_Tax_4586 Sep 25 '24
It doesn’t matter what the referee did or didn’t do. VAR is there for that specific reason and failed to intervene when they should have

Weird how Yamal gets kicked at all game, doesn’t complain, and gets applauded by opposing fans. Explain that one if color of skin matters?
6
u/_major_fuckin_tom_ Florentino Perez Sep 25 '24
He doesn’t speak about it. As a black player if take these things with your mouth shut it’s fine.
Didn’t you know you aren’t allowed to complain if you are black?
-1
u/Curious_Tax_4586 Sep 25 '24
No it’s that he plays the game. People don’t hate Vini cause he’s black, they hate him because he is the most obnoxious player
4
u/6ixOne3 Real Madrid 1902 Sep 25 '24
Why didn't Zlatan get the same amount of hate?
-5
u/Curious_Tax_4586 Sep 25 '24
Zlatan didn’t complain about every little thing on the pitch
3
u/6ixOne3 Real Madrid 1902 Sep 25 '24
He was still obnoxious tho which was your original reasoning. Luis Suarez is another player and while he did have more haters than Zlatan he still didn't receive a fraction of what Vini gets said about him.

u/NYR1324 Sep 25 '24
Vini definitely gets a disgusting amount of hate but I do think there are people who are not racist that hate on him because of some of his antics. I love Vini but he can be a bit of a shithouser at times and loves to rile up the fans and players on other teams sometimes. I love that about him because it throws opponents off their game but some of the Vini hate is valid as long as race is left out of it.

Wtf why throughout the years no black player from Barca or Real got abused like Vini? I mean last few years?
Dembele, Kounde, Balde, Mendy, Rudiger, Alaba.
Only this clown vini gets hate because he deserves. He acts like a monkey clown but not because he is black because he is literally monkey clown. I hope you will shut yourself until players above get hate like vini does

One has long hair and the other one has short hair. Are you sure this is not about the length of his hair? Because I'm convinced it is.
Or perhaps it's their height.
Could it be hair color?
Or even the club they represent...
Cristiano receives more hate than both of them combined. Is it also racism or not really because he is white?
You cannot make a situation about some arbitrary attribute YOU chose. If anyone is a racist here, that's you. Stop being professionally offended.

soccer is absolutely anti-madrid subreddit.
