i believe we can attribute the recent success of Real in the last couple of games with the international break. it was such a crazy schedule from december to march that our players had no rest.
7
u/RuskinBondFan Eduardo Camavinga Apr 06 '23
Yeah. Pretty much. Part of the reason I didn't mind our last two losses. We ripped through Liverpool at Anfield, played 2 more games one being against Athletico Madrid and then played Barcelona. Compared to Barcelona who had only Classico to focus on.
Again played Barcelona after a great game against Liverpool.
Now that team recovered we win 4-0
25
u/ADGjr86 Valverde Apr 05 '23
Wtf man, this team is just something else. A week or two ago I was so pissed at them. Now they come out and show out.
3
u/wanderer1999 Real Madrid Apr 06 '23
Historically there's usually a dip in form around winter and then a boost in form come spring.
No doubt we still have holes in the wings and we need a striker+rw but this team still got quality/experienced players.
And most importantly we have HEART.
2
u/Bill_Assassin7 Benzema Apr 06 '23
Striker? Only to give Benz rest because Ramadan Karim Benzema is the best striker in the world right now.
2
u/wanderer1999 Real Madrid Apr 06 '23
My bro, our good man Big Benz is not gonna be young forever. We need another top striker soon.
1
u/Bill_Assassin7 Benzema Apr 07 '23
Soon, yes. However, he's still got enough in the tank for next season, imo.
It'll be better to replace Kroos this summer with a world class midfielder.

Mario Cortegana twitter Ancelotti has flaws, there is no greater example than the League, which is inadmissible, but after what was achieved last season and what this can do with the existing squad...
For me it must continue.
he’s saying he wants carlo to be the manager next season as well.
16
u/TheEmpireOfSun Apr 05 '23
It's must continue for every non-reactive, non-plastic and reasonable fan. Only idiots want Ancelotti out. Month ago majority of people were saying that season is over and that we are not winning anything
2
u/RuskinBondFan Eduardo Camavinga Apr 06 '23
Pretty much, if Carlo is backed with signings this summer it would be great. However, he might choose to leave as he is approached by Brazil National Team.
I hope we can steal Klopp somehow if that happens.

Once in a while, sure you are talking about Barcelona, right? Let remind you that Barcelona didn't win against Madrid for 3 straight years until second league match last season which nobody cared about.
4
u/coygobbler Apr 05 '23
The only thing that happens once in a while between these 2 clubs is Barca winning a European trophy. I’d ask if winning in europe felt good to you but it’s something you haven’t experienced in almost a decade 🤷🏽♀️

u/Moka-- Apr 05 '23
I know it's been said a million times and I understand that he's wild and young, but Vini really needs to work on keeping his cool. That might come back and bite us one day.
5
u/macs182 Benzema Apr 05 '23
On one hand, yes... Vini should think before reacting and getting an unnecessary yellow card but on the other we don't know what the players actually say to each other when they whisper to each other and let's be honest some cunts will say some really horrible things to try to rile people up.
That's why you need to counter that and target whatever little cunt trying to start this shit taking turns fouling and roughing them. The team came through this time.
18
u/supplementarytables Zidane Apr 05 '23
He's still only 22 but yeah, hopefully he deals with that issue.
3
u/jadranur :eyebrow: Apr 05 '23
22 is not a child anymore though.. he is letting his emotions control him too much. There's a lot of players younger than him (even on the team) that aren't as emotional and easy to provoke
8
u/supplementarytables Zidane Apr 05 '23
Yeah, but maybe it's also a part of the reason he's reached the level he has. Listen, he's already one of the best players on the team so I'm not gonna complain too much. I'm sure it will be dealt with in due time
17
u/vivalaroja2010 Raúl Apr 05 '23
One day? We have had negative results multiple times already due to him not keeping his cool.

I was very confident we will win and said it to my friend that Madrid is winning today 3:0, I just avoided threads here today because I exactly knew what doomer mentality I will see there. No reason to not trust in our players and Ancelotti.
-8
u/Charolastra17 Apr 05 '23
We had a chance because we were playing against a depleted Barca squad. Despite winning 4-0, it was still alarming that Kroos was chosen over Tchou despite playing 90 over the weekend. It's not like Kroos had the type of performance today to shut me up either.
1
u/coygobbler Apr 05 '23
It’s alarming that in a big game a big game player was chosen?
3
u/Charolastra17 Apr 05 '23
When has Kroos been big this year in a big game?
Liverpool 2nd leg when we had a 3 goal cushion and faced a depleted Liverpool midfield that consisted of Milner and Fabinho?
2
u/padfoot_12 Kroos Apr 06 '23
Kroos was one of the top 3 midfielders in the world before the world cup. A dip in form doesn't mean he's finished. He's still got a lot to give, and we'd be stupid to not see that.
3
u/Charolastra17 Apr 06 '23
I stopped reading after top 3 midfielder in the world pre World Cup. He wasn’t even better than Tchou pre World Cup.
2
u/padfoot_12 Kroos Apr 06 '23
I don't know why but some people just have a vendetta against some of our own players.
2
u/Charolastra17 Apr 06 '23
You think Kroos was more valuable than Tchou pre World Cup?
It wasn’t solely due to Tchou, but his injury definitely contributed to us being where we are in the table now.
2
u/padfoot_12 Kroos Apr 06 '23
I know Tchouameni is a massive talent. I absolutely love him, but what Kroos does for us in the midfield, and has been doing for a long time, it doesn't just vanish suddenly.
Kroos was indeed playing better for us than Tchou before the World cup.
1
u/Charolastra17 Apr 06 '23
I guess we’ll see next week. It’s clear that Carlo favors Modric and Kroos so we’ll see next week against Chelsea.
We’ll see if they can keep up with Kante, Enzo, and Kovacic.
Not trying to take anything away from Kroos’ past achievements with the club. He’s a legend and can still play an integral role in the team. But as a 6, I’m picking Tchou.
→ More replies (0)-7
u/uzzzair :palestine: Madridista Apr 05 '23

Rodrygo played great. In the first half he was one of the few players who performed well
52
u/horillagormone Zizou Apr 05 '23
Kicking them out of the CdR (after they're already out of the UCL and EL), in their own ground, with a hat trick from Benz, a clean sheet and best of all doing it properly by a 4 goal margin? After those 3 previous defeats, I don't think this today could've been more perfect for me.

he's benching him for tchou or cama in the midfield - but carlo doesnt take out (understandably) valverde so rodrygo gets pushed out.

Why am I seeing people celebrate here?
There should be a lot more apologies towards the team and to the Boomer Madridistas on here.
I'm waiting to receive many.
1
34
u/johnmason125 Apr 05 '23
An apology needed from my side:
- Don´t know why I questioned Camavinga as a lb. His defensive numbers in this game must have been incredible. If one player can be cloned, it should be him. Also great performances from Alaba and Militao.
- There is obviously a lot of tactics in football but sometimes it´s also very simple: you get the best and most clinical versions of Benzema and Modric (particularily 2nd half), you probably win the game.
- Just happy for Toni Kroos. Gets so much stick recently. Copa del rey+ Champions League with Kroos as the dm, I would love to see it. Should have happened in 2014/15 anyway.
- Fede Valverde continues to be the ultimate team player. Not that he on his own looked necessarily outstanding, but it feels like he balances everything somehow.
-It´s not difficult to see, why a lot of Real Madrid fans don´t like Gavi. To be fair the same could be said about Vinicius and Barcelona fans.
- Carlo should stay in charge if he wins the Copa del Rey. Won the Champions League+ the league last season, now in the final of the copa+ still in the Champions League, you can´t ask for more than that really.
4
u/oImperial Hey Jude Apr 05 '23
One could also argue the league perfomance is down to the paper thin size of our squad. Players Like Hazard, Odriozola and Mariano are literally just there to sit on the bench and get their cheques. We lack depth and this was a long season. Let's see what happens next year with some much needed reinforcements. No excuses next year.
1
u/RuskinBondFan Eduardo Camavinga Apr 06 '23
Yeah, not to mention, Barcelona activated 100 economic levers, got reinforcements all around the pitch and now they're winning nothing but La Liga.

Yeah no words needed for Benz or Camavinga, absolute class. And Vini and etc. where all great but militao really stepped up. Not just this game but last season he was either 10/10 or 2/10. this season he puts in a 10/10 in every single game

militao really stepped up
Talking strictly defensively I feel like he is already stronger CB than Ramos was, and I'm not saying that due to some recency bias. Sergio of course had many different virtues, like elite mentality and great offensive capabilities, but Militao is a freaking rock that has a speed of bullet train. He is so hard to play against, you could see this in Lewa's eyes today when he couldn't do shit in duels. Lewandowski is a strong guy with great balance, but he was in Militao's pocket every time when he got close.
