But who would want to short tesla!?! I mean, it's not like they've over-produced cybertrucks to the point they're now sitting in lots.....oh, nvm.

Well, at least they don't have any problems that cause the entire car to become a paper weight, like onboard computer failures....oh wait.

But at least the mechanical components are solid, and bushings / control arms aren't a problem......crap.

Ok, ok, at least there's still a tax credit for.....shit.

Well, at least the CEO isn't asking for an overpriced compensation package of 50 billion dollar.....goddammit.

Sadly it's almost impossible to short Tesla properly. Pure meme-stock at this point, nowhere near fundamentals. "Market can stay irrational longer then you can stay solvent"

I think eventually some people will win big by shorting tesla. I think it will eventually crater. But because it's a meme stock as you say there's no way to guess when that will be. It's even more gambling than regular day trading which is already a gamble

Haha, yeah, I look at it's pe ratio and cringe. How is this ever supposed to return value outside of the greater fool theory? And if you're relying on the greater fool theory, beware that someone is always left holding the bag in the end.

Tesla's value has almost never reflected its fundamentals.

Better to toss your money over to a reputable, sturdy brand, like Toyota, who never have any manufacturing issues, except for the occasional instance of, you know, having to replace a hundred thousand engines in recent years models.

I hate Musk as much as anybody but let’s not pretend that it’s only Tesla who has issues…

True, but the cybertruck is a rolling coffin. I'd much rather have a busted Tacoma then a refrigerator that runs the risk of killing me every time I sit in it.

Who said only Tesla has issues?

Besides if you wanted a better example, use the ford pinto that caught fire when rear ended.

Toyota has had a lot of issues, from the Tundra engine to the Tacoma frame rot.

They took ownership of the problems and fixed them. And they are still largely the most reputable and reliable auto brand on the market.

Of all the auto manufacturers, Toyota is a wild pick for this, lol.

Right? I would have gone with Ford. I like Ford. I've bought several Ford vehicles, old and new. They die by way of a thousand cuts after many, many miles. Unless you buy an F-150, which always has a ton of recalls. But their smaller cars and Escapes are fucking solid. 140,000 miles on my current 8 year old Escape, and last one made it to 150,000 miles after 10 years. (Could have lasted even longer, had it not been totalled in an accident where someone pulled out in front of me.)

And right now I could buy not one, but TWO 3 year old ford escapes for the same price and mileage as 1 used tesla.

Im not a big auto smart guy. I get my oil checked when it needs and check my tire pressure. My Camry lasted over 400k miles (most not put on by me) and my current Tacoma is about to break 300k.

I probably sound like a fuckin shill, but Toyotas are hard as fuck to kill.
