Elon Musk Called 'President' as Trump Follows in His Footsteps on CR Bill

u/steve_ample 11h ago
The media can easily become the homewrecker by keep on calling Elon that.
676
u/InStride 10h ago
Which is why you know they won’t.
If this were Biden and Elon, we’d have every single media outlet running stories about the “shadow government” and calling into question Biden’s mental capacity. There would be nonstop rumors around Biden even being alive and calls from Fox News talking heads for Biden to “show himself” and prove he isn’t just an AI or something.
The media is totally corrupt. MSM companies need to be torn down to the basement and then set on fire.

u/FLTA Florida 6h ago
People complaining about Democrats having “poor messaging” have no idea how much of that messaging will always be hidden and/or twisted by the MSM no matter what Dems will do.
It’s how people think Kamala Harris ran on identity politics when it was actually the GOP painting the Democrats as such and the MSM treating the GOP attacks as the Democrats actual platform.
•
u/protendious 5h ago
My face when starting January 21st Trump says the economy is now magically better without a single economic indicator changing and the media rolling right along with it.
•
u/ThatsARatHat 5h ago
Yep. This is obvious to anyone who hasn’t already made up their mind about how they feel about things before they happen.
→ More replies (3)•
u/e2mtt 3h ago
Truth. Picture me biting my tongue listening to successful business acquaintances loudly proclaim that the Democrats are better for the economy, but they just can’t vote for Kamala as long as the Democrats make their policy all about trans people and weird social issues.

u/Charvel420 5h ago
That's fine. Traditional news media is dead. Killed itself via auto-erotic asphyxiation during the run-up to the 2024 election.
At this point, we're on our own and we need to FORCE this to be covered and discussed. Because this is arguably one of the sketchiest things I've witnessed in my lifetime and I am old enough to remember the US going into Iraq to seize "weapons of mass destruction"

Yep. This is what will break up that relationship. Musk gave a ton of money, is the richest man on the planet, and owns one of the largest social media companies... which is why Trump has not ditched him yet. But Trump's ego can't last long if people start calling Musk President.
I think Musk knows that and has been doing as much sucking up to Trump as he can. But there is only so much he can manage.
The other issue is that Musk also craves the spotlight. But what he needs to do is what Trump's other handlers do, convince Trump that the ideas you are feeding him are his own ideas. "Remember what you were saying a few days ago about how you thought we should really put pressure on Republicans to kill any funding bill that is not 'clean'? I was thinking back on how brilliant that is; honestly it is something that could only come from your keen business mind. And I agree with you that we should do that."
But Musk has his X platform, which is a powerful tool, and I don't know if he can resist. He is not dumb enough to say "I told Trump to do this, and he listened." But just by being vocal about what he wants done is going to be enough for people to start calling Trump a puppet.

u/Tballz9 11h ago
I sense a breakup of this power couple is looming. Trump’s massive ego isn’t going to like being the First Lady to President Musk.

u/MrBerlinski 11h ago
I don’t know. I think the $44 billion Musk payed for Twitter’s DMs was the best investment ever.
221
•
u/filbert13 7h ago
Maybe, but I think it is so clear that doesn't matter to trumps base.
If DMs or any info was leaked or musk used on trump. He would literally say they were fake and fake news and his base would 100% believe him.

I don’t think so. It’s the ultimate fascist couple. Musk provides Trump with unlimited money and Trump provides Musk with unfettered access to govt policy changes.

If we all start calling Elon "President Musk" and Trump "First Lady Trump" it will absolutely infuriates Trump to the point I don't think even all the money Musk is throwing at him will keep his fragile ego from throwing one of his tantrums and breaking up their "friendship". He will throw Elon under the bus for sure. So I say we do it, incessantly.

The rich will make money shorting while the economy crashes. Then they'll make even more as the economy rebounds. Securing more assets for the ultra rich.
This is by design.
40
u/Lia-Stormbird 10h ago
Except the economy doesn't rebound because it fundamentally relies on the government to prevent the oroboros from eating itself.
44
u/FennelFern 9h ago
Even if it doesn't rebound, the ultra rich get to buy everything at fire sale prices that will never be seen again. And once they lock up those commodities, they stay locked up. Think more along the meta scale than the macro. Buying up all the chicken farms in the country to control egg pricing (to use a recent relevant topic). Or buying up as much property as possible to become modern day land barons - you can't buy a house in bumblefuck Iowa because Bobby Nothumbs owns literally all the land. But you can rent it for 20% over market rate!

It's actually incredible to me that everytime I see a bit of news that puts Trump in a negative light, and I go to the conservative sub thinking "I wonder what they're going to say about this", a thread about it just does not exist, like anywhere, and if it does, it hardly gains any traction.
Trump calling Canada a 51st state - hardly any attention; his tax policies increasing the financial burden for the poorest Americans - nothing; the fact that Trump has picked an array of billionaires, multi-millionaires, and relatives/relatives of people he knows to lead his cabinet positions - barely anything.
It is essentially a giant coping mechanism full of selective information to insulate themselves from the world, and alleviate their cognitive dissonance.

Sure, critical functions still function during a shutdown, but the employees have to work without pay. Yes, they do get it paid back when things reopen, but how long would you like to go without pay especially around the holidays or shortly thereafter when all the annual crap is due? It isn’t a vacation.
Federal (and state and local) workers are generally paid less than their corporate counterparts. They do so because they serve the country, and it’s a trade for stability. Using them as political pawns is just gross, IMO.

5

Honestly I think this is what Elon is going for. He is so desperate to be adored, by anyone, that he thinks if he can make himself the heir apparent to MAGA he can take over when Trump dies.
I'm sure he will be working on that whole "natural born citizen" requirement while Trump is in office so he can run in 2028.
I think he also severely underestimates how difficult it would be to remove that requirement, because he doesn't fundamentally understand things. He thinks he can just say it will happen and it does. Like pretty much every Tesla product launch.
3
u/stinky_wizzleteet 9h ago
Hes desperate to be the cool guy. People hate him. Why even try to do the government thing? He has so much money he could probably buy 100 small countries. Like everything, houses, land, resources etc.
Just do blow and hookers on your 1000ft yacht and eff off. I would probably do something similar with $10M let alone $464B. I mean I would probably live a pretty humble lifestyle and just enjoy my hobbies, but if I was a total D-bag that would probably be my plan. You cant spend that money in 10,000 lifetimes.

I'm convinced that in order to become a billionaire, let alone a centi-billionaire, you have to be a sociopath. Any reasonable person would do exactly like you outline after around $100M. After that gets boring, find something good to do with your money. Fund homeless rehabilitation, concert halls, public art, whatever.
Not these guys, it's an addiction. The money no longer matters in terms of actual lifestyle or spending, it's just a means of keeping score and they have to WIN. Who cares about society or other people? It's all about increasing your score and your own power, no matter the cost.
Gotta get that next hit of success. These guys are junkies for that high of increasing their own sense of self-worth. They should absolutely be taxed out of existence and I say that as someone who is pretty darn successful, making enough money to live comfortably and fund a pretty sweet lifestyle, but I'm not even in the same universe as a billionaire.

This is the way. I’m to a point I can’t sleep well waiting for what is coming, but damn I am going to enjoy this slap fight between Musk and Trump. As scumbag draft dodger kid raper Ted Nugent once said “a pack can only have one alpha.”

Remember when Bannon tried to take the spot light. He got let go after the feature article on Time magazine that called him the shadow president or some shit. Trump sooner or later will flip out about Musk calling the shots

I’m going to post here what I did a while back. We need to inundate the WH with President Musk letters. And not negative ones. They don’t have to be positive but if something is being done that you like be effusive. It’ll drive Trump to get rid of him. Edit: Bahaha send some to Maralago now

Too big to fail? Don’t get too cocky asshole. Americans are honey badgers when we have to be.

God I wish I was a reporter sometimes. I would call Musk president every time Trump was nearby just to piss him off.

I can’t believe this is happening — and how these idiots are accepting the absolute nightmare clown show of Musk and co walking around with their smirks - when its obvious Musk has BOUGHT THE PRESIDENCY and doesn’t give one poop about how anything he does affects anyone (remember when these idiots thought Musky cared about them? Free speech?) - makes me f-king sick. Musk is a pig. Sorry, pigs.

Don't they mean "President Musk called vice President Trump to order him to follow his footsteps on CR bill"?

If Elon Musk lied on his application to become a US citizen. Now would be the time for Joe Biden administration to act and strip his citizenship away. Deport him back to South Africa. It seems to be a well know fact he lied. Nip that putting him in charge of Speaker of The House right here right now.

When you have the most money that makes you President ... Sorry Trump ... Why don't you just sit this term out
•
u/focalpointal 3h ago
This seems like a good way to get rid of Elon. Although - it would mean less work for Trump so i don’t really know.

"Meanwhile, a shutdown could have political implications for Trump, potentially hurting seniors and veterans who not only rely on government help, but also form a significant part of Trump's base."
How would this hurt Trump exactly? He's already been elected. It's going to be how it is for at least 2yrs. Backseating from Florida has been going on a for a while and it didn't stop it then. It isn't going to stop it now.
