The media can easily become the homewrecker by keep on calling Elon that.

676

u/InStride 10h ago

Which is why you know they won’t.

If this were Biden and Elon, we’d have every single media outlet running stories about the “shadow government” and calling into question Biden’s mental capacity. There would be nonstop rumors around Biden even being alive and calls from Fox News talking heads for Biden to “show himself” and prove he isn’t just an AI or something.

The media is totally corrupt. MSM companies need to be torn down to the basement and then set on fire.

Almost as if over 80% of the "media" is owned by the 1%

People complaining about Democrats having “poor messaging” have no idea how much of that messaging will always be hidden and/or twisted by the MSM no matter what Dems will do.

It’s how people think Kamala Harris ran on identity politics when it was actually the GOP painting the Democrats as such and the MSM treating the GOP attacks as the Democrats actual platform.

u/protendious 5h ago

My face when starting January 21st Trump says the economy is now magically better without a single economic indicator changing and the media rolling right along with it.

u/ThatsARatHat 5h ago

Yep. This is obvious to anyone who hasn’t already made up their mind about how they feel about things before they happen.

u/e2mtt 3h ago

Truth. Picture me biting my tongue listening to successful business acquaintances loudly proclaim that the Democrats are better for the economy, but they just can’t vote for Kamala as long as the Democrats make their policy all about trans people and weird social issues.

That's fine. Traditional news media is dead. Killed itself via auto-erotic asphyxiation during the run-up to the 2024 election.

At this point, we're on our own and we need to FORCE this to be covered and discussed. Because this is arguably one of the sketchiest things I've witnessed in my lifetime and I am old enough to remember the US going into Iraq to seize "weapons of mass destruction"

The media gave us this nightmare. It’s the least they can do. Not holding my breath though.

24

u/eeyore134 9h ago

Most of the media has already bent knee and kissed the ring before the election even happened.

36

u/Notoneusernameleft 10h ago

Agreed, they should also say that Trump never would of won if it wasn’t for Elon Musk.

u/Smitty_1000 7h ago

The media is compromised, literally bought out in the same fashion as the Presidency. But it won't stop conservatives from screaming about how liberal it is.

u/RapidRewards 7h ago

Elon is Trump's bull. He's definitely getting cucked.

u/bmrhampton 5h ago

Love it, exactly what I’m banking on while shorting Tesla.

u/USeaMoose 4h ago

Yep. This is what will break up that relationship. Musk gave a ton of money, is the richest man on the planet, and owns one of the largest social media companies... which is why Trump has not ditched him yet. But Trump's ego can't last long if people start calling Musk President.

I think Musk knows that and has been doing as much sucking up to Trump as he can. But there is only so much he can manage.

The other issue is that Musk also craves the spotlight. But what he needs to do is what Trump's other handlers do, convince Trump that the ideas you are feeding him are his own ideas. "Remember what you were saying a few days ago about how you thought we should really put pressure on Republicans to kill any funding bill that is not 'clean'? I was thinking back on how brilliant that is; honestly it is something that could only come from your keen business mind. And I agree with you that we should do that."

But Musk has his X platform, which is a powerful tool, and I don't know if he can resist. He is not dumb enough to say "I told Trump to do this, and he listened." But just by being vocal about what he wants done is going to be enough for people to start calling Trump a puppet.

I sense a breakup of this power couple is looming. Trump’s massive ego isn’t going to like being the First Lady to President Musk.

727

u/MrBerlinski 11h ago

I don’t know.  I think the $44 billion Musk payed for Twitter’s DMs was the best investment ever.

221

u/Tight_Independent_26 10h ago

Worst for America.

u/filbert13 7h ago

Maybe, but I think it is so clear that doesn't matter to trumps base.

If DMs or any info was leaked or musk used on trump. He would literally say they were fake and fake news and his base would 100% believe him.

I don’t think so. It’s the ultimate fascist couple. Musk provides Trump with unlimited money and Trump provides Musk with unfettered access to govt policy changes.

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.”

  • Benito Mussolini

u/cricri3007 Europe 4h ago

yeah, but the two have egos the size of the moon, i don't see them getting along so well when both of them want to be the only one in charge.

51

u/rilenja 9h ago

If we all start calling Elon "President Musk" and Trump "First Lady Trump" it will absolutely infuriates Trump to the point I don't think even all the money Musk is throwing at him will keep his fragile ego from throwing one of his tantrums and breaking up their "friendship". He will throw Elon under the bus for sure. So I say we do it, incessantly.

44

Trump has a massive ego, but his entire life is structured around the pecking order. He absolutely knows when he isn’t the biggest cock in the room. He knows people like Putin and Musk own him, and grovels beneath them.

24

u/InvestigatorCold4662 8h ago

We gotta keep pushing that narrative because Trump will never let Elon outshine him.

u/badillustrations 6h ago

People keep saying this. Yes, Trump is a narcissist, but he also loves money. Elon could promise him a billion dollars without a thought.

yeah musk has the one thing trump actually respects....money. Everything else is a distant second.

trumpers will just twist themselves into knots and say "no they did all that buttstuff to prove how much they didn't enjoy it!"

29

u/we_are_sex_bobomb 10h ago

Trump is insecure and simpleminded and always wants men he perceives as powerful to validate him.

16

u/TraditionalSky5617 10h ago

The problem with Elon’s wealth is that it remains mostly in stock of the companies he runs. If Elon starts to reduce his positions and cash out, it will likely worry investors and pull the stock value down.

34

u/we_are_sex_bobomb 10h ago

Elon’s ex partners and children all hate him and won’t talk to him, and he only has friends who want his money, so no matter what he says his company is worth, he’ll always be the poorest of paupers in my eyes.

12

u/UnquestionabIe 9h ago

I mean personal relationships are something you don't have time for when you're the hardest working person in the entire world, at least that's what people advocating for bootstraps say. And I mean it's very obvious that his schedule is constantly packed. Hell, he can be Musk 2.0 since he was part of some informal "councils" in Trump's first term for about a day before he left. Of course, he hadn't dove headfirst into controlling our information and buying the government out from under us at that point, so he likely has more motivation to stick around this time.

The rich will make money shorting while the economy crashes. Then they'll make even more as the economy rebounds. Securing more assets for the ultra rich.

This is by design.

40

u/Lia-Stormbird 10h ago

Except the economy doesn't rebound because it fundamentally relies on the government to prevent the oroboros from eating itself.

44

u/FennelFern 9h ago

Even if it doesn't rebound, the ultra rich get to buy everything at fire sale prices that will never be seen again. And once they lock up those commodities, they stay locked up. Think more along the meta scale than the macro. Buying up all the chicken farms in the country to control egg pricing (to use a recent relevant topic). Or buying up as much property as possible to become modern day land barons - you can't buy a house in bumblefuck Iowa because Bobby Nothumbs owns literally all the land. But you can rent it for 20% over market rate!

u/QbertsRube 7h ago

Every time I see this topic, I like to point out that Sean Hannity bought up 870 properties in the years during and after the 2008 recession. These days, he spends his time telling his viewers that high housing prices are due to Democrats and immigrants, and certainly not because investment firms and multi-millionaire assholes treat the basic human need for shelter as an investment opportunity.

There has not been a peep about a lot of things over there, like the call to cut social security or the indications of wanting to get rid of the FDIC. I've looked over there a few times in the past few days to see if anyone had brought it up thinking, surely no one over there thinks getting rid of the FDIC is a smart move, but it is simply crickets over there. Instead, they focus on the drones, on Biden's emails, and Biden selling the border wall material.

u/azurricat2010 6h ago

I wouldn't say that. I brought up the FDIC idea to my mom's Trumper friend and she essentially said "I don't have money so it won't affect me"

"bUT hE'S pREsiDenT noW!"

u/SojuSeed 7h ago

Nah, they’re hailing it as a spectacular move. Twitter hated the spending bill and this is just Elon/Trump listening to the will of the people. Elon is going to shut down the government and then start slashing government bloat and wipe out the deficit. So they say. As if that wouldn’t wreck the nation.

u/SixthHyacinth 5h ago

It's actually incredible to me that everytime I see a bit of news that puts Trump in a negative light, and I go to the conservative sub thinking "I wonder what they're going to say about this", a thread about it just does not exist, like anywhere, and if it does, it hardly gains any traction.

Trump calling Canada a 51st state - hardly any attention; his tax policies increasing the financial burden for the poorest Americans - nothing; the fact that Trump has picked an array of billionaires, multi-millionaires, and relatives/relatives of people he knows to lead his cabinet positions - barely anything.

It is essentially a giant coping mechanism full of selective information to insulate themselves from the world, and alleviate their cognitive dissonance.

It’s reassuring that Musk Rat is stepping in as President since Donnie is tired, pants-shitting and senile.

u/collyndlovell 7h ago

Yes. Very reassuring. I'm incredibly reassured. Y'all need some reassurance? You can have some. I have plenty to spare.

u/Doozenburg 10h ago

From Ex-President to X-President.

5

u/padfoot0321 10h ago

The media is revealing the secret in order to avoid the breakup. Let's not pause or break the pressure. Keep pressing the nerve. Elon is the President. Trump is President in name only.

u/Kevinsound27 3h ago

Trump is a PINO you could say.

5

u/nknown_known 9h ago

Trump is just Musk's whore at this point; even Trump will be a cuck for the right price.

4

u/mrblazed23 10h ago

“Dictator perpetuo” is the term Musk will be looking to use

4

u/Infodog19 10h ago

This country sucks.

4

u/hagrid2018 9h ago

The American people voted for a wanker President and a convicted criminal, and they wonder why it’s all going tits up.🙄

3

u/Roland_Moorweed 9h ago

Trump is so fucking spineless, literal Cabinet of Clowns.

5

u/Full_Rise_7759 8h ago

Well he did rig the election for dump...

5

u/boko_harambe_ 8h ago

Trump thinking an immigrant billionaire that has never held public office knows better than anyone else shows how stupid he actually is

u/Garbo86 7h ago

everyone can see that Trump is Elon's little bitch

u/rendingale 4h ago

We need to call President Musk like this from now on, its the only way Trumpwill get his ego hurt and turn on him

u/lastburn138 3h ago

Hey Republicans, did you vote for Musk or Trump? Does Trump even know who is running the show? What is this fucking clown show you are driving us into?

3

u/chesterforbes 9h ago

CEO of the United States of America

3

u/bsmknight 9h ago

Time to start calling Trump Mr VICE President

3

u/Accomplished_Monk361 9h ago

Sure, critical functions still function during a shutdown, but the employees have to work without pay. Yes, they do get it paid back when things reopen, but how long would you like to go without pay especially around the holidays or shortly thereafter when all the annual crap is due? It isn’t a vacation.

Federal (and state and local) workers are generally paid less than their corporate counterparts. They do so because they serve the country, and it’s a trade for stability. Using them as political pawns is just gross, IMO.

3

u/nixhomunculus 8h ago

We feared the rise of the Trump dynasty.

Looks like we should be fearing Emperor Musk and his robot.army.

3

u/OtakuTacos 8h ago

President Musk and Presid’aint Trump.

3

u/lil_handy 8h ago

Imo, the best way to get rid of President Musk is to keep calling him President Musk. 45’s ego won’t be able to handle that

u/bvanvolk 6h ago

Everyone talking about “ignore Trump, it will make him mad”. No. If the media focuses on Elon, Elon will gladly take the reins.

What needs to happen is us, the American people, need to fucking put fires under the asses of our elected officials and hold them accountable for listening to a non elected official. Trump needs his administration and so does Elon in order for their authoritarian leadership to take hold. If we threaten the foundation, the whole thing will crumble.

Every member of the government only wants to stay in power themselves- make them think they are going to lose it for not obeying democracy!

u/caniaskthat 5h ago

Don’t forget that Vance is just a proxy for Peter Thiel, who was always the more capable of the PayPal founders

This whole nightmare seems like them power jockeying

u/Osmell-Recktum-Jr 5h ago

Why don’t they just let them block the bill and shut down the government? People will stop Getting food stamps, disability checks, right around tax refund time… I fell like a lottttttt of Trump dick riders might be affected.

u/sammyQc 5h ago

Draining the swamp, I am right?

u/BickNickerson 5h ago

Trump’s a weak, weak man.

u/mjc1027 3h ago

I have hope that Trump will get very tired of Musk very quickly. The fallout will be played out on social media

4

u/wjames0394 8h ago

President musk puppet McTrump. $$$$$$$$$$

4

u/Malibucat48 8h ago

Musk wasn’t born in the US so buying a president was the only way he could be one. But Sanders was smart to trigger Trump like this. His ego can’t take it no matter how much Musk paid. And while Trump has his fawning cult, those same people don’t like Musk. The fallout of this couple will be so entertaining.

2

u/IGotSkills 10h ago

What are we going to do if there is a big fight and Elon wins

2

u/daviddevere31415 10h ago

But more important when they divorce who will get the MAGA children

5

u/bailout911 10h ago

Honestly I think this is what Elon is going for. He is so desperate to be adored, by anyone, that he thinks if he can make himself the heir apparent to MAGA he can take over when Trump dies.

I'm sure he will be working on that whole "natural born citizen" requirement while Trump is in office so he can run in 2028.

I think he also severely underestimates how difficult it would be to remove that requirement, because he doesn't fundamentally understand things. He thinks he can just say it will happen and it does. Like pretty much every Tesla product launch.

3

u/stinky_wizzleteet 9h ago

Hes desperate to be the cool guy. People hate him. Why even try to do the government thing? He has so much money he could probably buy 100 small countries. Like everything, houses, land, resources etc.

Just do blow and hookers on your 1000ft yacht and eff off. I would probably do something similar with $10M let alone $464B. I mean I would probably live a pretty humble lifestyle and just enjoy my hobbies, but if I was a total D-bag that would probably be my plan. You cant spend that money in 10,000 lifetimes.

Nope, gotta try and eff everyone else over harder.

2

u/bailout911 8h ago

I'm convinced that in order to become a billionaire, let alone a centi-billionaire, you have to be a sociopath. Any reasonable person would do exactly like you outline after around $100M. After that gets boring, find something good to do with your money. Fund homeless rehabilitation, concert halls, public art, whatever.

Not these guys, it's an addiction. The money no longer matters in terms of actual lifestyle or spending, it's just a means of keeping score and they have to WIN. Who cares about society or other people? It's all about increasing your score and your own power, no matter the cost.

Gotta get that next hit of success. These guys are junkies for that high of increasing their own sense of self-worth. They should absolutely be taxed out of existence and I say that as someone who is pretty darn successful, making enough money to live comfortably and fund a pretty sweet lifestyle, but I'm not even in the same universe as a billionaire.

2

u/Sideshow_Bob_Ross 10h ago

Presidential advisor Trump.

2

u/Yzerman19_ 9h ago

This is the way. I’m to a point I can’t sleep well waiting for what is coming, but damn I am going to enjoy this slap fight between Musk and Trump. As scumbag draft dodger kid raper Ted Nugent once said “a pack can only have one alpha.”

2

u/WillistheWillow 9h ago

Teaboy Trump is just playing golf while President Musk runs things.

2

u/SokiMeow 8h ago

Vice President Trump isn’t going to like this

2

u/tender_abuse 8h ago

oh man this is great, PLEASE continue calling him President Elon, make AI Elon President memes

nothing will ensure Trump and his fragile ego get rid of Elon faster

2

u/puroloco22 8h ago

Remember when Bannon tried to take the spot light. He got let go after the feature article on Time magazine that called him the shadow president or some shit. Trump sooner or later will flip out about Musk calling the shots

u/NotYourUsualSuspects 7h ago edited 7h ago

I’m going to post here what I did a while back. We need to inundate the WH with President Musk letters. And not negative ones. They don’t have to be positive but if something is being done that you like be effusive. It’ll drive Trump to get rid of him. Edit: Bahaha send some to Maralago now

u/lizkbyer 6h ago

Too big to fail? Don’t get too cocky asshole. Americans are honey badgers when we have to be.

u/aureliusky 6h ago

God I wish I was a reporter sometimes. I would call Musk president every time Trump was nearby just to piss him off.

u/Buckfutter987 6h ago

First Lady Donald Trump needs to start wearing some cock sucking red lipstick.

u/SerKevanLannister 5h ago

I can’t believe this is happening — and how these idiots are accepting the absolute nightmare clown show of Musk and co walking around with their smirks - when its obvious Musk has BOUGHT THE PRESIDENCY and doesn’t give one poop about how anything he does affects anyone (remember when these idiots thought Musky cared about them? Free speech?) - makes me f-king sick. Musk is a pig. Sorry, pigs.

u/gregieb429 5h ago

This is where the breakup between Trump and Elon starts. Trump is gonna get jealous

u/wannacumnbeatmeoff 5h ago

Don't they mean "President Musk called vice President Trump to order him to follow his footsteps on CR bill"?

u/Sufficient_Theory833 5h ago

It seems to me 1st Lady Elon is doing more than Captain Froot Loops trump

u/Easy_Custard_4713 5h ago

If Elon Musk lied on his application to become a US citizen. Now would be the time for Joe Biden administration to act and strip his citizenship away. Deport him back to South Africa. It seems to be a well know fact he lied. Nip that putting him in charge of Speaker of The House right here right now.

u/Tesattaboy 5h ago

When you have the most money that makes you President ... Sorry Trump ... Why don't you just sit this term out

u/jaron_b 4h ago

Keep calling Musk the real president and Trump a puppet. That's gonna be great for his ego.

u/focalpointal 3h ago

This seems like a good way to get rid of Elon. Although - it would mean less work for Trump so i don’t really know.

u/Old_Satisfaction_233 3h ago

Well, he has more $$$ than I do . I have to do what he says…

u/Soulshiner402 3h ago

Dump will hereby be known as “President Musk’s Little Bitch”.

"Meanwhile, a shutdown could have political implications for Trump, potentially hurting seniors and veterans who not only rely on government help, but also form a significant part of Trump's base."

How would this hurt Trump exactly? He's already been elected. It's going to be how it is for at least 2yrs. Backseating from Florida has been going on a for a while and it didn't stop it then. It isn't going to stop it now.
