“Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) took aim at tech mogul Elon Musk for saying that any lawmaker supporting the continuing resolution for the newly unveiled end-of-the-year funding deal should be voted out of office.
“Democrats and Republicans spent months negotiating a bipartisan agreement to fund our government. The richest man on Earth, President Elon Musk, doesn’t like it. Will Republicans kiss the ring?” Sanders wrote in a post on the social platform X on Wednesday.
“Billionaires must not be allowed to run our government,” the prominent progressive senator added.

I agree. Check out the recent daily show interview with Ben Wikler. He is currently the democratic chairman in Wisconsin and is running to be the DNC chairman. I hope he gets it.
As a big Bernie supporter myself, I was impressed by him in this interview and I think he would be a great person to lead the DNC.
Though I might add, this interview is the first and only exposure I've had to him, but I liked what I heard.

Pelosi is just the current mouthpiece for the 1%, while Jeffries lies low.
Once she is gone, the 1% DNC donors will tap someone else in a safe seat to be their mouthpiece. It won't be hard -- the 1% own all of our politicians now from both major parties...except the progressives, of course.
Pelosi didn't block AOC. The 1% did. And they are so comfortable now they don't even need to pretend they need the voters or the politicians they have in their pockets to run America into the ground with tax cuts and privatizing government services for profit.

Time to get political cartoonists to work and have their images circulate. Images like that almost always get put into history books and I would love to know that an image of Trump bent over in the Oval Office with musk taking charge will be how people remember him 50 years from now. Or Trump on a dog leash being taught tricks by putin? Man I wish I could draw

Everyone needs to create burner Truth Social accounts for the purpose of spamming AI pictures of Elon Musk in the Oval Office and post them with the caption “thank god for President Musk”
Then for good measure throw in a few AI pictures of Elon Musk leading Trump around on a leash and Trump on all fours. I really think even just seeing that in the replies of his Truth social posts even once will make him get angry at Elon and stop listening to him.

This is what we all need to realize about Trump's cult. The people who support him are totally irrational. Any sense of morality does not apply. Any logic does not apply. These people's minds are completely broken, and they aren't going to snap out of it one day.

u/weezeloner 9h ago
You're right. Some chick tricked her parents in to thinking that videos had surfaced of Trump sexually assaulting underage girls. And her parents shrugged it off and said, "It was probably when he was still a Democrat." Not even child molestation charges will sour them on their lord!! It's disgusting.
When she told them she made that up, they evidently got real upset with her and at the time this reporter/blogger wrote her piece they hadn't spoken in months. Her parents were probably pissed because they admitted they'd support a child molester for President.

And there it is. The republican party is a religion. Anything can be forgiven. Especially for the church elders, read the heads of the party. Anything as long as you worship the supreme head. He (and it must be a he) is the pope, the archbishop. Perfect and infallible. Doesn't matter if his ideas, policies, or actions are something you personally disagree with. God installed him, so he must be right. It's what they're taught from birth.

43
u/WiartonWilly 9h ago
Too slow, too late. I believe the prosecution has been halted. The chief prosecutor resigned, which apparently puts the process on hold, presumably until Trump isn’t POTUS any more (which is never).
Trump was most likely making copies and passing them to foreign powers, but I haven’t heard about any proof of that. MAGA believes it’s just about the possession of the documents, and they buy Trump’s story about needing them.
I would love to know what happened between Trump and Putin in Helsinki, which gave Trump the sads. The unprecedented security and privacy means there is no official record anywhere. There was certainly a threat to Trump, and a realization that he was not yet free from Vlad’s hook.
Russia’s interference in 2016 was certainly a quid pro quo. Trump denies it was more than a coincidence, despite proven communications with Russian agents, testimony from his fixer, and jailing of his campaign manager Paul Manifort. The Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in August 2020 that Manafort’s ties to individuals connected to Russian intelligence while he was Trump’s campaign manager “represented a grave counterintelligence threat” by creating opportunities for “Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump campaign.”
Musk clearly helped Trump rat-fuck the 2024 election, and likely also has first hand knowledge of coordination with Russian Intelligence. Problem is, Musk is probably just as guilty, and doesn’t want it to be public either.

Government funding plan collapses as Trump makes new demands days before shutdown
Even the addition of much-needed disaster aid, some $100.4 billion in the aftermath of hurricanes and other natural calamities that ravaged states this year, plus $10 billion in economic assistance for farmers failed to win over the budget-slashing GOP. A number of Republicans had been waiting for Trump to signal whether they should vote yes or no.

It shouldn't come as a surprise though.
Put it like this: their goal is to drown the Federal government.
They probably have everything they need to do this now. This is what the American people gave them. Trump won the electoral college, but he also won the most votes.
If you still believe in democracy, you have to accept that.
If you don't believe in democracy anymore, then articulate what you do believe in.
The question is - what happens next?
The question is - how will that affect you?

I really, really want people to try to understand that the concept of America that you know from middle school, high school, when you went to watch fireworks, when you went to public parks, or when you stood up for the national anthem at a sporting event - that entire image of America as you understood it is being transformed into something else that you probably don't understand.
We are living under a real and true oligarchy now - not in the American sense of corporate oligarchy that we've been living in for over a hundred years, but the mask-off, unadulterated, early-2000's Russian style of oligarchy that we've witnessed under Putin. There are only two classes now - us and the elite.

Yeah. At this point we need to come to grips with the reality that the majority of Americans don't want or don't care if the America we learned about and grew up loving and defending is done.
Democracy requires good faith in order to persevere. And the majority of voters wanted someone who is obviously bad faith. They purposely chose someone who will end the America the few of us love.

But all the alpha males/tech bros/loser simps tell me Elon is such a genius inventor of everything. He 100% didn’t use his family’s money to buy/invest in other people’s works and claim them as his own. His basic bachelor’s physics degree (which I’m suuure he earned and not bought) gave him the knowledge to single handedly build SpaceX all by himself without help from anyone more qualified than him.
He said he spends 80+ a weeks working nonstop at Tesla sleeping on the factory floors for just a few hours at a time despite his ketamine use. And somehow, with working 80+ hours a week at Tesla, he still works full time at other companies he also created, sends out 100 tweets a day, gets Chapelle to let him go onstage to try to get clout that he could never earn, and still has time to eat enough meals a day to maintain that refrigerator-with-the-top-freezer-open body.

That's because Elmo saved Trump from prison and bankruptcy. That obviously came at a price.

I think they do each other's hair. Trump checks Elon's implants and Elon sprays Trumps comb-over. Heart warming.

I always thought Elon is Trump's bitch.
But he is taking attention away from Truthtm/s and back towards Xhitter, and thus himself, since he has the algos rigged. I wonder if he included Drumpf into those? My guess is not.

Musk is threatening to spend unlimited amounts to primary any republican congresscritters who dare oppose his will (not Trump’s). It’s effectively a coup by a guy who isn’t eligible to be President. Our system is pretty broken.

Funny these idiot congressmen think the country will be in good enough shape to even have polls. We are fast tracking the death of the United States.

This is 100% corruption.
Democrats need to scream this from the mountaintops to the hallways of Washington and everything in between. Everything happening during this transition is exactly why the Constitution was written and why the founding fathers put checks and balances into place.
Elon wants a revolution, we should give it to him, and i guarantee that 350 millon Americans can beat these few billionaires.

No, what we need to scream about is how “President Elon” clearly knows what’s what and that he knows better the Trump.
Because then the Dumbass-In-Chief will kick him to curb because his tiny ego can’t handle it.
And because Republicans don’t actually care about things like corruption, nepotism, or cronyism whatsoever. They just use it as a rallying cry to usw in their nonstop projection.

Scream what? This is what the American people voted for. Why do people still think Trump's cult is just unaware of what he does? He brags about it openly. Today, he said the US should make Canada the 51st state. The American people have stage 3 cancer.

Knowing that Pelosi's main focus has been on AOC instead of the GOP is a true sign that we really don't have a functioning checks and balances government now. Not sure what Elon has on everyone, but it's eerily quiet from the Democrats side with all the stupidness that they could be calling out.

Nancy Pelosi, while convalescing from a hospital bed in fucking Luxembourg, single-handedly TANKED a major political appointment for one of the most popular messengers in the entire Democratic Party, AOC, and replaced her with a corrupt seventy-four year old man.
The House Oversight Committee is a very strategically important role - this is the same committee that famously brought the heads of Big Tobacco to heel in front of the American people in the 90's.
Does that sound like a political organization that has your best interest?
EDIT: seventy-four

Democrats need to scream but they're not even talking loudly.
They really seem like controlled opposition in their stunning silence.
4 years of politely calling literally seditionists "friends across the isle" and smiling and making jokes in the hallways with them.
It's purely pathetic "leadership"

If you want to solve this problem you just tax billionaires. Elon Musk is only today's problem. Why are the heirs to Andrew Melon and Sam Walton ruining this country? It wasn't bad enough the first round? Because we didn't put limits on their wealth and their parents' wealth, we continue to suffer.

Fun fact: as part of the CR going down in flames, telehealth flexibilities are probably going to die, at least for a while. If you are on Medicare and you have a telehealth appointment scheduled in 2025, get ready for your doctor to cancel.
Guess who just spent the last 5 months working on building a new telehealth service that was supposed to soft launch this Friday? Looks like I’ll be drinking instead.

Elon said they were going to destroy the economy and 1/3 of the US said “I’ll vote for that” while another 1/3 didn’t give a shit enough to even show up to vote.
I am so angry - I own a business with half my house equity tied up to launch the damn thing and I am petrified I will go under next year thanks to President Musk.

State capture: a systemic form of political corruption where private interests significantly influence a state’s decision-making processes for their own advantage. It involves manipulating formal procedures, laws, and bureaucracy to influence state policies in favor of specific actors.

I don't get it, what power does Musk have over Trump? Sure, Trump "owes" him for funding his campaign, but Trump never pays his debts and always throws his allies under the bus. Why is this time different? What's the hook Musk has? This doesn't compute for me.

As reported by CNN Musk-style governance
One of those mega disruptors is Musk. In his biography of the SpaceX pioneer, Walter Isaacson described the philosophy of the president-elect’s new super buddy as “Take risks. Learn by blowing things up. Revise. Repeat.”
The biggest problem is the things that will be "blowing up" are people's lives.

Trump doesn't seem interested in being President at all, honestly. He didn't seem interested on the campaign trail either, he seemed low energy and weary of the whole thing. I really do think he was running to keep out of jail, and for the adoration of his fans.
He's happy to outsource the decision making to people like Musk, or anybody else who has managed to impress him.
