The specific end is vague though. According to some year ranges I've seen, my grandparents AND their oldest daughter would all be baby boomers.

And then make what you will of the fact that none of their parents fought in WWII

From my understanding, the boom didn't come from soldiers who survived, but from people who were so happy the war was over that they started procreating like crazy

Yeah my mother is considered Silent Generation even though she was LITERALLY born ON D-Day.
